As every single one of Dooley's documentaries, this is a well made and highly important subject.
Dooley has spent time with four women and followed them during their journey through the justice system and trial. This documentary isn't just a snapshot, it is stretched over several years and exposes the harsh reality for those who fight to bring their abuser to stand trial. The women we meet are so incredibly strong, and outcomes are heartbreaking but it's SO important. I, as a woman, feel that their fight is so important. It is the stories of so many. I strongly feel that if I would be a victim, I would thanks to these women try and stand up, and I am so impressed by them. No matter the outcome, watching women stand up for themselves will give other women the courage to come forward, and I hope that the women in this documentary know that their fight is not for nothing. It WILL encourage others. I want to thank these women for speaking up and contributing to taking the stigma away and putting the blame on the abusers. Sadly, we live in a society where the system still put lots of blame on the victims, but stories like this are steps forward towards seeing the reality; that the abused is NOT to blame. They did nothing wrong, they did everything right. We can only go forward if more people come forward.
Thank you all, truly.
