This so-called "documentary" bills itself as an exposé but ultimately comes across as one-sided propaganda. Because the case is still ongoing, any objective account would be premature. Aside from one Mangione family friend, the interviewees seem disconnected from the anger that led many to support Mangione-likely because they're insulated from the realities millions of Americans face.
While the film does touch on the systemic issues driving sympathy for Mangione, it never fully explores them. We can't condone his actions, but we also shouldn't dismiss the motives or condemn and demonize those who understand and relate to them. As one interviewee bluntly put it, "You can't be the CEO of a for-profit insurance company without having some blood on your hands" (paraphrased). Until a more thorough, balanced account emerges, this so-called documentary isn't worth your time.

This is one of the worst "documentary true crime/ investigation" movies I have ever watched. It actually made me angry and further resentful towards the media. I am a film major in college, looking specifically to focus on documentaries. I love the idea of documenting social movements and important moments in social culture and history. I think it is important to show unbiased, wholistic truth in a time of polarization, misinformation, division, etc. This documentary is shameful and shows the further misuse of power and narrative in the US. I would assume we could blame this on directors Brian Ross and Rhonda Schwartz. May I ask where your funding is coming from? (I am not saying they have no backbone but?? This piece of work reeks of bias). I say that as an insult to them as filmmakers and the work they created.
We know as a society that violence is wrong, and we do not need a documentary to prove that. (Edit: I understand the message of the inhumane nature of glorifying violence, but please explore the other sides of that. You never fully explained why people might be glorifying thiissss violence WHICH IS KEY TO THE DOCUMENTARY!!.. WHY.. WHY IS IT) The people deserve a story of context, and this did not provide that. It zeroed in on vilifying a man that made it immensely obvious he had a greater message behind his violence. I am not asking this documentary to bring refuge and support to Luigi Mangione, but it is diabolical to create a documentary about him and not fully explore the context. It is also sick and twisted to paint Brian Thompson as a savior and not fully explore the blood on his hands and the horrifying truth of healthcare industries.
As documentary creators, you owe it to the viewer to provide a full story. This lack of depth, context, and effort, resorting in a disappointing creation, is sorrowful and disgraceful. I hope that as the story is developed, better filmmakers will provide a better documentary and the whole story!

Incoherent mess, shambles of a script, poorly written, to say its a disaster is an understatement. It glorifies a mass murderer as a "family man" and gives very little background on the actual person that the film is supposed to be about. It is biased, one-sided and tone deaf and the message was strange and muddled. This film had the perfect ingredient to appeal to mass audience but the shallow journalism didn't reveal much that everyone didn't already know and the way they're clearly biased is annoying to say the least. It wastes its audience's time with every excruciating minute. If you value your sanity, avoid this train wreck at all costs.
Completely tone-deaf documentary. It's clear as daylight that the director wanted the audience to sympathize with the killing of the CEO, but in all honesty, it made me sympathize with Luigi even more.
The criminologist in question was meant to serve as the logic of the film but came across as arrogant and out of touch. She claims Mangione is a narcissist who acted on nothing more than selfish reasons. You would believe that someone who works in the justice system would restrain themselves from accusing an individual of a crime they have not been indicted. If anything, it truly shows how the oligarchs can spread propaganda for as long as it suits them.
To top it all off, we see a surprise appearance from Mayor Adams - who, mind you, is facing charges of corruption and bribery - yet he wants to preach about honesty and justice? Please.

Super biased documentary run by Dan who has a clear agenda. Trying to act like they don't know how this could have happened and skirting around any of the sympathetic facts of Luigi's person and his plan beyond just touching on "Yeah he said he didn't want to use a bomb because it would hurt innocents". Trying to frame him as a narcissistic type with cognitive issues due to Lyme disease, while painting any one who was supportive of him as being wackos. Even the women with the hysterectomy insurance issue they focus on her saying she wasn't sad about what happened to Brian. Nothing about UHC's use of AI in pushing out more claim denials then any other insurance by a huge margin, no talk about why healthcare shouldn't be for profit at all in this country because it makes no sense. No talk about UHC raking in billions of dollars and trying to say they aren't that profitable. No talk about Eric Adams doing a perp walk for publicity to get rid some media attention about the investigation into his own corruption which has now been thrown conveniently.
