Sure, even without ever having heard about the 2025 Thai movie "Sawaddee Wan Jan(s)", aka "Happy Monday(s)", prior to stumbling upon it by random luck, of course I opted to watch the movie, given my love of Asian cinema.
I virtually had no idea what I was in for here, so director Chakorn Chaiprecha had every opportunity to impress and entertain me with this 2025 movie.
The storyline was adequate, but the movie ultimately suffered from being repetitive, no pun intended. But the narrative seemed to go nowhere and seemed to be stuck in the same part. After 90 minutes out of the 128 minute runtime, I gave up and tossed the towel in the ring. The movie had grown so stale and pointless at that time, that I just saw no reason to carry on watching it.
Despite of having seen a fair share of Thai movies, then I was not familiar with the cast ensemble here. And that was actually something that spoke in favor of the movie, as I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were fair.
"Sawaddee Wan Jan(s)" was a disappointing movie, and not one I will return to attempt finish watching.
My rating of director Chakorn Chaiprecha's 2025 movie "Sawaddee Wan Jan(s)" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.
