It Ends

This psychological horror/thriller is very interesting at first. For the first few 30 minutes you kept wondering what the ending will be and what will happen to these characters? But then it gets boring and more boring and more boring until you finally reach to the end of the movie and you can only ask, "That was it? What the eff?" The initial idea was intriguing, bet the ending was seriously a HUGE dud! Give me back 90 minutes of my life!

Every time I think I've seen the worst movie ever, then along comes something like this, and it takes over that title. Anyone giving this travesty over a 3 is lying through their teeth. This was the most boring, vapid, lackluster, plotless, stupid movie I have ever had the displeasure of watching. It made absolutely no sense whatsoever. It dragged out forever, just to come to a meaningless, bland ending without any explanations at all. There really was zero points to this movie. I would love to know what they were thinking, or should I say "NOT" thinking when they decided to make this. Do yourselves a favor, and skip this complete waste of time.

I just came out of 'It Ends' and honestly, I'm still chewing on it. I'd give it a 7/10 - really solid, thought-provoking, but not quite a knockout for me.

The setup is so simple: four friends drive out late at night, only to find themselves stuck on a highway that never ends. That's it. And yet, it spirals into this mix of existential horror and comedy that feels both absurd and oddly relatable. You keep waiting for an answer, a way out, some big revelation... but of course, the title is the joke. Life doesn't really offer neat resolutions, and neither does this film.

What I liked most was how it captured that creeping Gen Z dread - the fear of being stuck, of going nowhere, of searching for meaning and never quite finding it. The characters feel real, their banter keeps it human, and beneath the laughs there's this undercurrent of melancholy that sneaks up on you.

The ending will definitely divide people. For me, it worked - not in a satisfying way, but in a hauntingly honest way. It's frustrating, but maybe that's the point: life rarely ties things up with a bow.

Overall, I admire what Alexander Ullom did here. It Ends won't be everyone's cup of tea, but if you like surreal, slow-burn horror that doubles as an existential thought experiment, it's well worth the ride.

Can see why people might rate this down and in honesty it's probably a 5/10 for entertainment value. But, I've given it an extra 2 for the art of writing it; the acting and the fact it's presumably really low budget. Well made and does what it says on the tin - ends. Congrats to the people who made it, regardless of the hate it may bring.

Did I miss something?

Without giving anything away... I kept waiting for a resolution, an answer and Im not sure if I got one.

Competent acting. Interesting premise, certainly not amateurish...

It just stops.

Now, Im sure someone will read some deeper meaning into this movie. And when one is forced to go behind the context of a movie anyone can see whatever they imagine.

But IMHO, there needs to be more of a resolution else, the writers are just taking shortcuts, or worse, not completing the story.

4/10 because it was at least well done and semi interesting. Not recommended.
