Although this finale was head and shoulders above the awful season 2 finale, this was pretty mediocre.
The much anticipated fight with Paulie was thrilling at first but then went on too long and got really goofy and herein lies the problem with Reacher: the showrunners and writers allow themselves to go so over the top that the show loses any semblance of credibility. Sure, have the fistfights, gunfights etc. It's what we're here for but instead of ratcheting everything up to 11 try operating at 7 and that would make things less cartoony.
This season started off with some slow burn intrigue however slowly but surely the show couldn't get out of its own way. It doesn't to be this dumb to be entertaining.

I would prefer to be able to review a Season instead of one episode, or the entire series.. but here we are.
This didn't have to be anything but a satisfying conclusion of all loose ends, and that's exactly what it is! A good and fun final confrontation we've been waiting for, and another Reacher Book story done.
At 8 episodes of 50 minutes (weekly), it feels a tad long in retrospect. It doesn't do the ground work that Season 1 did (which is still my favorite) nor does it "improve" on the main character.. aside from "thing from the past". It is still consistently good and uses its resources effectively! Which is not something I can say from most series these days.
At this point, I'm just watching for more of Lee Child and Alan Ritchson.

I would struggle to think of another actor who was more born to play a part than Alan Ritchson was to play Reacher. His charisma and charm just bring the show to life. Plus it helps he's an absolute beast!
Where I thought season two lost its way somewhat, season three was right back on form and perhaps the best of the seasons so far.
Shows like this don't need overcomplicated storylines, just storylines that are gonna bring the best out of the character, which the series did. I'm already buzzing for season four, let's just hope they stick to the season three formula without trying to overcomplicate things.

This season was a marked improvement from Season 2 which came off disjointed and confusing with weak story and afternoon soap opera adult fare . Season one was an adult action / romance with a decent story and excellent acting - Season 3 by comparison was a TV 14 season with action a decent story and better than average acting - The season ending fight scene with Pauli was too drawn out and actually got tiresome. The lead gal was OK but like season two the love scene's weren't as steamy as the afternoon soaps - like season two the love scene was done practically fully clothed - UGH Season one was a 10, Season 2 was a 5 and Season 3 was back up to an 8 witch is really good for a TV 14 show I paid for when most TV 14 shows are free.
So we have all be waiting for some major confrontations as this series ends and that's what we were given. You could say it was hard hitting but in the end satisfying. There were some aspects of this entire season which may have been better but this final episode justified watching the series as it all culminated in the final.
Reacher lives to fight another day, but he sure didn't have it easy.
The minor characters get to play their parts and are utilized instead of being wasted and for the length of this final episode, it was satisfying even if in ways it was a bit predictable. We have enough of the stuff we like about Reacher to look forward to season four where hopefully they will iron out some of the issues in the season which often seem to come down to the quality of the actors chosen to accompany Reacher in his adventures.

¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaThe shotgun Reacher carries is a nod to the source book for season 3, Persuader. The shotgun is a Mossberg 500 Persuader 12-gauge.
- ErroresEveryone inside the house hears the gunshots from the barn, yet just a few minutes earlier they didn't hear any of the gunshots from the guardhouse's machine gun. The guardhouse is about the same distance from the house as the barn, and the machine gun in it is a Russian .50 caliber NSV 12.7x109mm, which is far louder than the 12 gauge shotgun Reacher was using in the barn, and would have easily been heard at the house, even over the sound of the music.
