It seems an improvisation exercise. And it is one. A film developped for few rules, constraints making it just artificial. It has not a real story and, in some measure, no characters. In essence , maybe reasonable example of absurde theater. But, sure, it has ...cookies and they are the stars of the film.
This is a very sweet 9 minute or so short Christmas film. It will make you smile. It is made using a list of constraints which give it a fun quirky style. It was made in 2011 and has an old fashioned appeal and doesn't include a lot of today's social media type influence which I love, it also shows two couples at a sweet little holiday party playing a game. It's about two people who work together and realize they like each other. The constraints make for a few awkward moments but I find the little film heartwarming.
The constraints are as follows and found on YouTube:
"This film is inspired by the following user-submitted constraints:
A character must discover a secret another character is hiding, during a white elephant gift exchange.
Must centrally feature a discussion in which characters go over playlists they've made to be played at their funerals.
One character must wear reindeer antlers.
One character must be terrified of getting caught standing under mistletoe.
One character hates it when people always pronounce her name incorrectly.
A character from a previous Finite Films production must make an appearance.
There must be at least one child in the film."
