Project: User

I am not giving "Project: User" a numerical score. It isn't that I didn't like it but because the film cannot be compared to other films because of its pedigree. Miles Levin wrote, directed, produced AND edited this film...a film he started working on when he was only 15!!! He finished it before he was finished high school!! This is insane and the movie looks better than many independent films I've seen done by guys in their 20s or 30s!! And, this certainly speaks well of Levin!!

The story is about two loners, Stuart and Adam. They are the only friend the other has in school--and much of it is because the two are incredibly gifted and are way ahead of their classmates. However, before envying the boys, Stuart's parents are neglectful and are almost never home and Adam lives in a home with a violent alcoholic. Both, together, come up with an odd scheme to find online friends--friends who as bright and gifted as themselves. How this all goes wrong is for you to see when you watch the film.

If you thought this was a pretty good film, try watching some of Levin's newer films--all shorts. "Super Hero Hotline " and especially "The Hipster" are among the funnier shorts I've seen recently and it's amazing, since he is now only 20! What will he be doing in 10 years?!
