Fun little alien abduction b-movie that will be more appreciated by X-philes, like I'm certain the director is. Full of subtle and not so subtle references and similar plotlines, not to mention the Cigarette Smoking Man, William B. Davis himself in the exact opposite role of a skeptical man that talks about conspiracies and laughs at the thought of hidden government bases in Alaska (Fight the Future anyone?).
Apart from the continuous X-Files referencing, the movie is a bit all over the place in terms of plot, mixing in clumsy ways alien abduction, Indian mythology and plenty of philosophizing over the paranormal. Towards the end things take a more surreal and so-bad-it's-good direction, but the movie did not lose its charm, at least in my case and it remained entertaining till the end. However, I feel that it is doubtful if viewers that are not familiar with the X-Files will appreciate it much.

I have just joined IMDb for the sole purpose of preventing anyone else from seeing this shambolic mess of a film. It's plot is holier than Passion of the Christ, and watching it feels much like Jesus himself must have. It introduces an astounding number of premises, and elaborates none of them, instead concluding with an ill-attempted philosophical justification of its own drunken story board. The lead actress is good enough, as is the lead actor. William Davis (x files) is, however, the only real draw. The accents (ostensibly Texan) are strained and variable, the lead female oscillating between Generic Southern and Generic Germanic. The rest of the cast is universally appalling, and manage to sink deeper an already sinking ship. The 'Indian' shaman and Russian investigator are so bad that at times the film appears almost comic - more of the 'laughing at' kind than the 'laughing with'. Nothing makes sense, there is no cohesive storyline, the editing sees overly long and/or completely unnecessary scenes that do nothing to develop the plot interspersed with action of dubious believability. This film has achieved a rare trajectory of starting off with reasonable promise, and descending exponentially into a complete farce.
At times frightening, at times intriguing, at other times comic, and generally very very bad.

This was a truly terrible film. I was astounded at how they managed to get some of the cast. It started off OK, and then progressively got worse and worse. The acting in some parts was so bad the audience was laughing in the cinema and I just cringed and cringed. The beginning actually opened really nicely but somehow the plot got totally lost, the characters were tied up in stupid nonsense and the 'scary aliens' were apparently English sounding but actually had American accents. The cast had a variety of terrible accents, and I'm not sure why they didn't just keep to their own. Terrible don't bother. I'm not sure what else I can possibly say.
No idea what was going on for most of the movie. Good floatie scene though
