This was cute and pretty predictable, but I ended up enjoying it. It takes place in Britain at a huge manor house from the late 16th century. The heroine has come from America to tour properties owned by a bank back in the states-in order to sell or auction them off. She goes to stay at one that she immediately falls in love with. While wandering around the basement she's met with a man in period clothing on the other side of a large mirror. The unreal part was how accepting the characters were of this part. Just not realistic. I get it, they only have so much time, but it just seemed too easy. When he comes through the mirror the story takes off. I've watched many movies about time travel and read way too many books featuring it so I can say this was right in line with most movies like this. I really enjoyed the man's character and the actor. The woman's character wasn't bad, but I didn't feel a whole lot of chemistry between the two. Still, as I said, it was cute and enjoyable and I'm glad I took the time to watch. Oh, and another thing I enjoyed was the caretaker's character. Now, he was quirky!

Although somehow, I thought this movie was going to Look at a time, travel more seriously (think Outlander) I still enjoyed it very much when I saw it was going to be more in the hallmark vein. However, it had enough gentle suspense, and the two leads had great chemistry, that I rated it an eight. The male lead was especially good and dreamily, handsome, and even the secondary male lead, the Scottish caretaker was a hoot! I thought it was going to hit him at the beginning, but then I ended up appreciating him. The scenery was gorgeous, and I had a little bit of dampness in my eyes at the ending. My husband even watched the whole thing with me and that is saying something! So, if you're in the mood for a sweet, light story, this might be perfect for you.

I like Aubrey Reynolds as an actress, she never seems like she is "acting", she doesn't seem like she is delivering lines. She always seems like she is just responding to the situation, as it should be. Also she doesn't wear much eye makeup and that helps her look beautiful, not artificial.
Here she is Chelsea Grayson, working for a USA firm that owns a very old English mansion that has fallen somewhat in disrepair. She travels there to facilitate a sale, the thought being it would be sold to ether tear down or be converted into some different type of property.
To save money her firm decides she will stay there for a few days instead of a hotel. She is warned, don't go into the basement, some say it is haunted. Being the curious type she goes anyway and sees a floor length mirror, it has a faint blue glow, and in the mirror she sees what looks like a nobleman from a different era. Like from 1799.
She meets the man in the mirror, Toby-Alexander Smith as Charles Barkley V. The script even has a few jokes about the USA basketball player of the same name. The story gets a bit more complex from then on but the two of them eventually start working on a plan to save the old mansion. It even involves an investment idea and a trick borrowed from BTTF 3 where Doc Brown writes a letter from the 1800s to be delivered to Marty in current time.
All in all a superior movie of this genre, very well made and entertaining. My wife and I watched it at home, streaming on Prime.

Oh, there are so many plot holes, but ignore them and go with it.
I did wonder where Charles got money while he was stuck in the present.
This movie reminds me of Kate and Leopold which was a feature film with more well known actors many years ago. And Hallmark did a similar story A Timeless Christmas which also used the Moon as a key to the time travel.
I was glad that this movie avoided putting the main characters in crazy situations trying to cover their secret. The story mostly avoids scenes where a lot explaining was required to cover the secret. I was also glad that the leads didn't start out with the usual blatant antagonism. And I was glad Chelsea's boss wasn't overbearing with constant interruptions.
There is some discussion amongst characters about time travel paradoxes but not a lot of geeky talk.
I think some viewers will find the movie a bit slow at times. It tries to make up for it with making the relationship appealing.
Aubrey Reynolds and Toby-Alexander Smith had some chemistry but not quite sizzling The acting was mostly OK. The Quinn character was supposed to be weird and quirky. The dialogue is also OK but not sparkling.

A rare romance that incorporates time travel and love, and it really works.
I remember reading a novel 30 years ago about a mirror and people who pass through it. This film has a similar type of mirror, and it reminds me of that fantasy novel for some reason, even though the novel was not particularly a whimsical romance, as it was a fantasy adventure with villains and magic.
This is the tale of a woman in the present, who is sent from America to Europe to purchase a centuries-old manor for a large real estate corporation. In the process of appraising the huge estate, she stumbles on a magical mirror, that can peer into the past. She sees a man from the 18th century who can see her from his side as well.
This is a love story that bridges time and culture. The plot becomes predictable at this point. Will he come to live in the future or will she jump into the past?
What is so wonderful about this film is that the chemistry is off the charts and the characters are endearing. Every aspect of the film is extraordinary, including the music, lighting, scenery and, of course, the romance.
Must see this every other year!

If you're looking for a predictable, happy ending sweet romance to watch on a rainy afternoon , this is the film for you! Chelsea, an appraiser, comes to England to examine an ann old manor and through a magic mirror in the basement, meets its old owner Charles (a lord!!). They fall in love in her time and he helps save the house and earn Chelsea's heart. It is a predictable Hallmark style romance movie that ends well. The cast all plays decently well. There's no real antagonist or major drama and ending is sweet! The costumes in the film could have been a little bit more interesting . I found that the main actress was dressed in a very plain wardrobe, and the main lead who is from the 1700s could have had a more interesting set of clothes to wear. The sets were good, but again I felt like they could have shown some more beautiful views of England. I also thought that some characters could have been given a bit more personality for example, both Charles and Chelsea didn't really have any character flaws or anything that made them really memorable or stand out which is fine for this type of hallmark esqu movie. But it could've been a more interesting watch if they had some more interesting character traits. I found that the owner of the manner who is this geek guy with the beard also pretty and one dimensional, but at least he had more personality than the lead.

The movie's simplicity is its charm. There's something refreshing about a film that doesn't overcomplicate itself with intricate plots or deep philosophical themes. Instead, it focuses on what matters: a simple story that's easy to follow, pleasant to watch, and designed purely for enjoyment. It's an easy watch, uncomplicated and perfect for those moments when you just want to kick back and enjoy a movie without having to analyze every detail or dive into complex characters. Sometimes, you just want something light, and this movie delivers just that. Its simplicity allows you to focus on the enjoyment of watching, without any unnecessary distractions.
One of the key aspects that make this movie so appealing is its lack of complications and heavy conflict. The plot is straightforward, and there's a sense of ease that comes with it. There's no need to stress over intricate twists or the constant pressure of something bad happening around every corner. For me, this made it easier to watch and enjoy-especially during times when I don't want to overthink. The movie is perfect for those moments when I just want to relax and pass the time without getting too caught up in heavy emotions or complicated narrative threads. The story is simple, and that's what makes it so enjoyable. It provides just enough entertainment without overloading the audience, and sometimes, that's all you really need.
Now, it's clear that this is not a high-budget film. You can tell that the production value isn't on par with major Hollywood blockbusters, and there's a certain modesty to how the movie is made. But oddly, this works in the film's favor. Its charm doesn't come from flashy special effects or elaborate set designs; rather, it comes from the simplicity of the story and the likability of the characters. The characters are far from complex, but they're undeniably fun to watch. They are relatable, simple, and endearing, which makes the movie feel warm and inviting. It's a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's one of its biggest strengths.
Among the cast, Charles stands out as my favorite character. His performance is heartfelt, and the actor portraying him brings a level of sincerity to the role that makes him incredibly likeable. His character may not have the depth or complexity of some others, but that's exactly why he works so well. He embodies the kind of down-to-earth charm that makes him instantly likable, and I found myself rooting for him throughout the film. His interactions with the other characters, especially Quinn, added a nice dynamic to the movie, giving it an extra layer of fun and entertainment.
Quinn, in particular, is another standout character. While Charles is my favorite, Quinn also brought a lot to the table in terms of making the movie much more engaging and fun to watch. His energy and sense of humor injected the film with a lightheartedness that made it much more enjoyable. His comedic timing was spot on, and he provided some of the film's most entertaining moments. The dynamic between Charles and Quinn is one of the movie's highlights, and it's clear that the actors had great chemistry together. Their back-and-forth created a natural flow to the story, making it feel effortless and fun.
On the other hand, Chelsea's character, while still enjoyable, could have been a bit more dynamic. At times, she felt a bit flat, and I found myself wishing for a little more energy or spark from her. While the actress did a fine job, there were moments when I thought she could have added a bit more depth or excitement to her performance. She had the potential to be a more fun character, but at times, she just didn't bring that extra layer to make her stand out as much as the other characters. Despite this, I still enjoyed watching her and thought she brought a nice balance to the group.
Overall, the movie is a nice watch. It's simple, lighthearted, and offers a break from the more intense, high-stakes films that often dominate the screen. While it's not a cinematic masterpiece, it's a pleasant and enjoyable film that's perfect for a laid-back viewing experience. The characters are lovable, the story is easy to follow, and it doesn't require you to think too much, which is exactly what makes it so charming. If you're looking for a movie that's not going to challenge your intellect or leave you emotionally drained, this one is a great option. It's the kind of film that's perfect for those moments when all you need is a fun and relaxing escape. The simplicity and charm are what make it a hidden gem, and it offers the kind of viewing experience that leaves you feeling uplifted and content.

Some of these reviews are very cruel... hey it's a make believe fantasy movie. How we would like life to be sometimes with the way things are going these days.
I always enjoy the time travel movies. What if? And for a couple of hours you can time travel with the actors. And with all the bad things happening in our world these days, I love a happy ending. This movie had all of those things. Aubrey was sweet and natural, believable and the fact that she was not a well known actress kept you in the possible believable story line. And the male actor was a genuine nice person he kind of person almost every woman wishes she would meet. So, sit back and enjoy the fantasy, don't pick it apart, with what if's... remember when you were younger and did make believe, it doesn't have to be perfect to be enjoyable.

Excellent, not too dramatic, and I loved the pacing. The actors don't seem like they are acting, and the design, music, appearance of the characters, and scenery make this movie an overall 10/10. I absolutely loved this movie and I can say it is one of the best romance movies I have watched in a long time. I highly encourage watching this movie as a family as will most definitely be a heartwarming and enjoyable experience for all. The jokes are also quite funny and the contrast between the main characters is quite amusing. Overall, a satisfying storyline and ending that perfectly wrapped the love story.

I stumbled across Love Across Time on Amazon Prime and, yeah, total chick flick-but a cute one. It felt like a Hallmark movie that somehow wandered onto Amazon instead. The plot had all the cozy, predictable beats: small-town charm, mild time-travel twist, and just enough sappy dialogue to keep it sweet without being too over-the-top.
You can tell it was written with the Hallmark Channel in mind-it's wholesome, light, and wraps everything up with a neat little bow. Nothing groundbreaking, but sometimes that's exactly what you want after a long day.
If you're in the mood for something feel-good with a bit of heart and don't mind a little cheesy romance, this one's worth the watch.

This has characters that I liked, as well as a plot a bit deeper than the norm. There are no drastic winding curves, but it is a very pleasant curvy country road.
There is a bit of whimsical time warping, but it is mildly plausible and I do love the action that required that the characters breach the barrier.
I found both of the leads quite believable. There are a couple of tricks borrowed from other time related tales, but I found them to be quite fittingly used. I found this to be a very enjoyable film and I loved the character development of the Gardner very much.
I did not expect the ending but was very pleasantly surprised. If you are interested in a cute little fantasy that has a happy ending then get a snack and something to drink because this is it!

"Love Across Time" has a compelling plot that kept me engaged throughout. The main actor delivered a solid performance and brought depth to his role, but unfortunately, the actress didn't quite rise to the occasion-her performance felt flat and unconvincing. The dialogue was another weak point, often feeling unnatural or forced, which made it harder to connect with the characters. That said, the castle setting was absolutely stunning and added a lot of atmosphere. The production value seemed quite good, so with a stronger lead actress and better-written dialogue, this could have been a truly memorable and impactful film.

I just finished watching Love Across Time, and honestly, it was such a sweet and comforting experience. The story has this soft, magical vibe that really pulled me in-kind of like stepping into a dreamy old fairytale. There's a time-travel element that adds a fun twist to what's essentially a gentle, romantic movie. It's not trying to be a big blockbuster or overly dramatic-it just leans into that cozy, wholesome feeling that's perfect for a quiet evening.
What really stood out to me was the atmosphere and the chemistry between the two leads. The setting is beautiful and calming, and even though the plot is fairly predictable, I didn't mind at all. I actually found comfort in knowing where it was going-it felt like the movie was giving me a warm hug. It's not deep or groundbreaking, but if you're in the mood for something romantic, magical, and easy to enjoy, Love Across Time is a lovely choice. I'm really glad I watched it.

This one had a great premise and the lead actor is both handsome and does a good job. But everything else is flat.
Chelsea is a real estate agent looking to sell a manor. But somehow, she ends up talking to the former owner in the basement by a magic mirror and of course, he comes into modern day. The good news... the way he came into modern day surprised me it was more complex and worked better than I thought it would.
The bad news everything else was horrible. The lead actress was flat and uninspired. The plot didn't take advantage of the fish out of water storyline. I sensed no particular regard between the main leads and after a while I just couldn't watch anymore.

I often base movie choices on IMDB ratings. I have found them reliable in the past. Not so with this movie. This one has a 7.4 to date. It is NOT on par with other movies with this rating. The directing is subpar. The storyline shallow. The acting is not noteworthy. While the plot line COULD be interesting, it never really deals with the mind-blowing effects that actually experiencing time-travel would bring, either emotionally or intellectually. It's accepted on the part of both main actors as if they had the intellectual ability of a 10-year old. She comes across as neither strong nor committed to her job. He also lacks depth. If you're looking for something light and mindless. This is your show. If you're looking for something deep, keep perusing.

This movie could have gone so many ways and yet it didn't. From the unexplained irascible caretaker who has a heart of gold, the plot that seemed to be written by someone who has yet to have a relationship. Having said all that, I didn't turn it off, I wanted to see it to the very end.
I just wish that they developed the fascination of seeing changes that had happened over two century's rather than just accept it. "Just visiting" (2001) did a much better job, and it was meant to be funny.
Not certain why others have rated this movie so highly! The only person that I really wanted to know a little more about was the Geordie caretaker and whatever game he was playing.
