Texas is an interesting collaboration between Finnish pop-rock band Haloo Helsinki! And their fellow countrymen, the rap duo JVG. As a result, the song blends two quite different styles surprisingly well. Notably, the riff is really cool and fits the rap parts perfectly, while the chorus reflects the more traditional Haloo Helsinki! Style we've come to expect from their music.
The only part I didn't like was the beginning, where Elli Haloo starts a rap section. For whatever reason, it didn't sound convincing and clearly shows that she's not a rapper. That said, the later sections where she raps work much better. They probably should have let JVG handle the early rap parts instead.
The music video is also visually excellent. The use of sports themes, particularly the soccer ball, combined with unique cinematographic choices - such as the light at the end of the tunnel, a mysterious ring with a sunset in the background, and close-up shots of an illuminated soccer ball in darkness - along with unexpected moments of total silence, create an illusion of outer space. I assume the protective suits and masks worn by everyone in the early parts of the video are meant to emphasize this space-like atmosphere.
