Idols playing idols...

This short, two episode series is a Christmas special and it is extremely difficult not to like. It has certain flaws, of course. Since the lead actresses are idols playing idols they sometimes come off like they are playing versions of themselves more than they are portraying characters. Other times it seems that they are overacting a bit, but I will say that Momota Kanako does have some great moments in her performance as well as Sasaki Ayaka, to a certain extent.

The pacing of the series is comfortable. It feels like all of the characters have their own individual scenes where they are developed adequately enough for the viewers to understand who is who and what motivates them, and whatnot. Though these things are quite simple, the entire story is quite simple, itself, so there isn't too great an opportunity to get lost.

What makes this so likable is that in its simplicity you get a slice-of-life story that is extremely grounded. The tone of the series is light and aside from a couple corny lines here or there, the writing and delivery is quite believable and well-executed.

The soundtrack for this series is also well worth picking up if possible. It's extremely charming and surprisingly festive during the holiday season. If you're looking for a relaxing but funny and charming story about 4 girls being reunited into a group by an angel, I'd definitely recommend this.
