Same old story and blah blah blah. So true. But there is another thing that i couldn't bare. Cha Eun Sang . I didn't like the character at all. She doesn't even fight for what she believes or feels . She acts like " I love you but we can't do this." But if Kim Tan gives up on her she is like " It is the best for everyone but why ? " and cries all the time. Kim Tan is always protecting her. Like women need to be protected by men 😡😡😡😡. It kind of gives that idea. Except for all this it is a classic rich boy poor girl drama. 😧😧😧
Heirs seemed more like a BoF with different cast. Female lead is always crying, Kim Tan looked expression less most of the time, and their romance was too boring to watch. Plot was predictable. It had nothing special to offer except the Krystal couple and the character development of Kim woo bin. Lavish setting and expensive wardrobe could aide you to get some ideas for yourself, that's all. Don't waste your time in this K drama by devoting 4 hours a day. It is of no good. And I did not get how the hell the lead pair was able to run from Malibu to Hollywood as though they are just few steps away. Logic of the writer went to the ocean.
So if you are watching a KDrama and expect it to be mind bending, without cliche's and tropes, you shouldn't be watching this. If you do like your KDramas, you should be used to tropes and clichés and enjoy the sheer beauty of watching old fashioned, sweet melodrama with familiar characters. Heirs is no different. Beautifully shot, with fantastic actors, a detailed story and characters, it is a satisfying drama that made me really enjoy my time getting to know their story. And yes, would love to see Choi Young Du get his own story!
I rewatched the beginning episodes a few times. At the theatre when they were resting from chasers, Kim Tan turns his head toward Cha Eun Sang , then 'kills' with the line, " Do I like you? ", with a look that dares you not to like him. Can't get enough of that look. I think Lee Min Ho is at his best when he is a bit dangerous, unpredictable, as in City Hunter. In Heirs, the actors were more college age than high-school. Not sure why they the plot called for high-schoolers, but then, I'm not sure if in Korea, it is likely for a maid's daughter to be able work her way through college, But it didn't bother me with the story line. In all, this was an enjoyable movie to get to know Korean drama and Lee Min Ho. I am a new fan from New York.
I enjoyed most of this drama which was carried by Min Ho Lee. The supporting actors were believable. However I only gave it a 7 because the lead actress had one emotion throughout the whole series, hurt puppy dog.
It was hard to finish the entire series because her reaction to every situation was always the same no matter how determined the suiter however, Min Ho's perseverence and character ultimately made it worth holding on until the end.
