I wanted to like this comedy. There is potential for a great workplace comedy that acknowledges the strengths and weaknesses of both generations represented.
Unfortunately, it begins with a completely farcical premise, and it is woefully written with little plot progression in the first two episodes. The lack of forward momentum in the storylines could be forgiven if the time was instead used to develop the characters at all, but alas, that did not happen either.
The talents of their leads is wasted by simply trotting out outdated Gen-Z slang that the elder generation "couldn't possibly understand" despite being 5-10 years past its expiration date. On top of that, every character is completely oblivious and exhibits some form of buffoonery and not in a "slapstick" way. There doesn't seem to be a coherent vision for what this sitcom wants or is trying to become. It lacks the ability to entertain in the loudest way possible.

This is just trash and the only reason it's trash is because of the Kriska girl she's the worst character I mens come on they make her a ceo yuck I'm 26 and yeah just no this character is no in every way. I do have to say I absolutely love all the other characters they are the best lol but this kriska girl omg eww I was so looking forward to seeing a Lauren graham show again because she hasn't had nearly enough screen time since Gilmore girls I'm saddened to see her character pushed aside for a beta that makes our age group look bad omg please make that kriska character be less in the next season I think it'll get so much better without her. Lauren graham can do this show herself she doesn't need the kriska person in the show.

I love you so much Lauren. I would watch anything you do. But this show was so so so bad! I hope you still do a second season but please hire new writers. The writing is horrible! Some jokes are funny! But overall the show is very flat. The characters aren't clear. Specially the they girl. The blonde one I don't remember her name. Like what's her character, who is she? And that secretary or personal assistant woman at the office. She is a terrible actress. I don't blame her. The material is so bad. But still she should have done something with it. And the black actress who is playing the CEO is so so so boring!!!
Ugh!!.. I'm so sad!

I really wanted to enjoy this because I love Lauren Graham and Mark McKinney, but it was one of the most instantly awful comedies I've ever seen. Series populated by legitimate monsters of characters like The Righteous Gemstones, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and Veep understand that there has to be SOMETHING there to make the audience interested in what happens next. Some insight into human flaws that makes these characters interesting, without asking you to sympathize with them. This show, meanwhile, presents you with a cast of characters who haven't done anything nearly as harmful, but holds them in far greater contempt. Every character is a shrill caricature of someone the writers hate. It's all very surface level and obvious humor. If you're going to be that unoriginal, you should at least be charming. Unbearable.

I think the writers room had a race about how many trending hashtags they can mash in one scene. The problem is that they have succeeded and we are left with 7 word/lingo-hydra / scene. Sadly it lacks coherence or any sort of smart or smirk.
Making actual jokes was most likely banned in the writers room and any attempt at them was killed by the studio saying it was too risky.
Do watch for education, this is how you should definitely not do meta-commentary.
Half-way through the pilot our main characters are fired for pointing out everything I've listed above (badly sadly) and there you have your pitch of the year. Sad to see the always amazing Lauren Graham having to speak such utter nonsense scene-by-scene.

Vacuous, plastic, boring beyond belief (and that's just the first 3 minutes).
If a friend were to ask me, I'd say, "Don't waste your time."
What on earth compelled Lauren Graham to sink to this level of dreck?!
Ad agencies are typically staffed - in reality - with very bright, well-educated people who have studied human psychology and are engaged in the business of deception (how else to explain rampant obesity, fat-related illnesses / disease, and the propensity of North Americans to inhale junk food they know - at some level - is exceptionally bad for them).
This sorry excuse for entertainment is not that.

I'm upset because I love Lauren Graham and she is an executive producer on the show. So she is responsible for this. The characters are like cartoon characters: we are being hit over the head with the fact that the Gen z crowd are entitled and constantly spouting reasons to cancel people, and the older crowd are out of touch and too old to do their jobs properly. Who exactly is supposed to be the audience for this show? You are insulting both generations. And for people who love Lauren Graham, and might be in her age range, seeing her get fired in the first episode for being old isn't a thrill. It made me want to turn the show off immediately. It perpetuates the misconception that if you are older than the age of 50 you should be fired because you are "out of touch." Why, Lauren? Why would you do that? I want to keep watching to see if somehow her character jumps in and learns about technology so that she can be successful still in her field, but I can't stand these characters. There is nothing sympathetic about anyone on this show, so I can't watch the show long enough to find out if it gets better. I am just so disappointed. And I hate leaving a bad review because I am sure she worked very hard on the show. But you made unsympathetic characters and you insulted everyone over the age of 50 and everyone under the age of 25. So I guess your audience is the people in between?

I started watching this show because Nico Santos is in it and he was in Superstore and did a fabulous job on that show. While Nico and his boss on here are both good, the rest fall flat. This show is not doing anything favorable for the Gen Z crowd. I think anyone watching this show would never hire anybody from this generation the way they're portrayed as lazy, pretentious, entitled spoiled brats. I keep watching thinking it's going to turn around and the Gen Z's snap out of it, but I am thinking it's not going to happen. I'm disappointed because I truly wanted this to be a good show, but it's not.

People are being way too harsh way too soon. I watched 4 episodes so far and it keeps getting better and better with very episode. I see a lot of potential and just enjoy watching a fun and silly comedy.
Lauren Graham is fantastic as always and I fell in love with her all over again. She has such amazing comedic timing and is just a joy to watch all around. The styling is phenomenal as well.
The younger cast is great too and I curious to see what happens next.
I really recommend checking out this show and giving it more time to develop. Nothing is perfect right from the start and this show is off to a good start.

Lauren SO deserves a monster comeback vehicle, after her absolute masterclass performances in "Gilmore Girls" and "Parenthood", but this is painful. Don't get me wrong, Lauren absolutely CARRIES her role and steals every scene she's in, and I honestly don't think the supporting actors are bad, but the concept they're all forced to portray is "cringy" (to use a Z term) and so immaturely over-the-top that the entire show comes across as confusing and misguided.
Are we laughing WITH the Z generation or, as this old Boomer uncomfortably felt while watching, are we just being crotchety old farts making fun of not only the "Gen Z" stereotype but the actual generation itself? Mine don't even live with me anymore, but during far too many scenes I could FEEL my own Gen Z kids rolling their eyes back in disgust. The stereotype is so heavily leaned into that this feels like a generational (aka one's age range) mean-spirited hit-piece, and it becomes just another "entire-series-based-on-one-dumb-old-man-joke" comedy.
On the (very dim) bright side, there's no laugh track. Also, and the only reason I even checked this series out in the first place, there's Lauren Graham, who can make ANYTHING captivating and enjoyable. She tries so hard with what she's given here, and is worth an IMDb star all by herself, but she's only a human without magic script skills. Actually maybe she DOES have some writing input, but if so she needs more. Nico Santos plays Nico Santos, but he still cracks me up as Lauren's (Monica's") comic sounding board. His whole "tightroping-on-the-edge-of-offensive" schtick continues to be entertaining to me.
The rest of the supporting cast are fine and well-casted, the set decorations are impressive considering the obviously-low budget, the direction is creative and engaging, and honestly the writing is fine, too. The characterizations are fun, effectively silly, and written to perfection. I think it's the CONCEPT that feels played-out and somewhat hateful. Again, are we poking fun at Zs, or are we slapping them across the face?

Of course the master carried a lot of this show, but it was still good. It poked fun at some real life things we see Gen Z talk/post on social media about and at boomers for having a tight grasp on things and taking it hard when that changes from failure. I guess Minnesota Matt was the millennial who just wanted to have fun and stayed true to himself even though no one wanted him around lol
I definitely would watch season 2 of this and would love to see maybe Monica and Kriska fuse or something. It was nice to see women as CEO and they're smart enough to run Oliver outta business. Just saying, I agree with that review about the writing. It's great laid back fun that's sorta predictable but totally fine because we could use some comedy on screen these days. Tubi has some gems and this is one for sure!

Show was very enjoyable and entertaining . It made me laugh and i just keep wanting more! The show was very different from everything else out there now. When I first heard of the show I was skeptical but after episode one I knew I was going to add it to my weekly watch list. My only criticism is that I do wish there were more episodes to see some character development. I have recommended this show to almost everyone I know and they all enjoy it too. It's just funny and relatable. Lauren Graham was amazing of course and I truly love everything she has worked on. I am hopeful for a two season to see what will happen next!

I for one am enjoying watching The Z-Suite, as the season unfolds. It's a show that's easy to follow; every instalment has certainly been entertaining & I think it provides a light-hearted & much needed escape from the dumpster-fire that is going on in the world right now. Each episode is better than the last & the cast are all capable actors. The angry home reviewers/frustrated wannabe critics really should remember why we all started watching television in the first place - for a bit of fun & to get out of our own heads for a while. It's light entertainment people, not intended to cure cancer or facilitate world peace.

We love this! As a professional artist/creative director this is hilarious and my husband and I have been laughing all the way through! We want the next episode, trying to figure out when they air? Only two episodes showing. We're 50 with kids so we make up both generations and can relate between us and our kids. It's so great to watch a show without swearing yet still makes you laugh and is quick witted and resembling Super Store with some of the same cast but this is better. Hope this gets renewed for many more seasons! WOW, have to keep writing so the review has enough characters lol. Feel like I'm writing a homework assignment now.

This is a great, easy to watch comedy with a fun mix of characters. Lauren Graham is fantastic and the other cast members bring a diverse set of personalities that make for great comedy. The more I watch, the more I pick up on subtle jokes that are riddled throughout the show. Great writing!
If your looking for a good laugh at the end of a long day, this is exactly what you need. It doesn't impose upon itself and makes for the playful comedy a lot of recent series have been lacking.
This is the type of playful and outrageous TV that reminds me of 30 Rock of The Office. You know what your getting and it provides for a good laugh. I'm excited to see the show progress as the characters continue to define themselves.
10/10.

I love Lauren Graham since 2022 when i was 17. I enjoyed her roles in TV shows & movies. Rather it be Lorelai Gilmore from Gilmore Girls (since it was her best known work), Fran Lockwood from Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (since she voiced Flint's late mother), or Angelica from Sweet November (since she only had 2 scenes in the movie as Nelson's ex-girlfriend). But then along came "Parenthood" (which is the show i hate) that decided to ruin her TV career. "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" is great & "Vampirina" is amazing. But after watching Parenthood for just 3 episodes, that made me don't wanna watch anymore modern TV shows that has her in it ever again. I count the other shows like Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist & The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers because i don't wanna watch those shows whatsoever all thanks to that stupid Parenthood show. Then along came this show called "The Z-Suite" & it came out on Tubi just last week & i have watched the first two episodes on the day of its release & i gotta say, it was amazing to my surprise. I loved Lauren Graham's role in the show as Monica & she is also the executive producer of the show as well, & believe it or not when i say this, that show pretty much saved her TV career. One single episode of the show will be releasing on Tubi every thursday so i'll be looking an eye out for that. Amazing show overall.

This was a great clash of various generations in modern times at the workplace and addresses things from various perspectives instead of pushing a single ideology. It keeps a frequent pace full of comedy from start to finish in each episode. By the end of the episode I find myself left wanting to watch more and not just because of the edge of my seat cliffhanger but because I enjoyed the episode that I just watched so much.
Lauren Graham knocks it out of the park in this comedy and hasn't lost her touch 1 bit since she started out many years ago. She has done great in keeping similar with how she has the past ~10 years & keeps her familiarity even from the Gilmore Girl days. Her delivery of comedy with her facial expressions and quick wit attitude is a great as it's ever been.
If you have seen Super Store and really enjoyed Mateo's character you will be excited because Nico Santos' character in this show is very similar with his character as Mateo.
To make it even better, if you are a fan of Working Moms as well you will be excited to see that 2 of its cast members also appear on this show; Dani Kind, Nadine Djoury, Mark McKinney, Rhys Darby.
Then they throw in some younger less familiar actors as well & they do a great job with their characters and bring some fun elements to the show.
Both episodes 1 and 2 were incredible and I can't wait to see more!
Keep up the great work to everyone working on this.
