Being a fan of the blue hedgehog, I was pleased to find that when this show came out that it was somewhat enjoyable but still mediocre. It had good animation but it just felt a little bland. But, season 2 turned it into a show that I legitimately love, no joke. It's become a lot more self aware with it's jokes and often pokes fun at Sonic and SEGA themselves which is always really funny, but there is some original comedy here that definitely works. The animation looks a little less polished in season 2 but it's still acceptable, the voice acting is still great with Roger Craig Smith being, objectively, the best voice of Sonic to date, and it really does bring justice to the Sonic Boom franchise. The games were horrible (except for Fire and Ice) so I think it's great that this interesting concept is actually being put to use. The new designs of the characters are still good, characters that started out as one dimensional like Knuckles haven't really changed but they aren't really seen as cringe worthy anymore, and I'm just gonna say this: Sonic's characterization in this show is top notch and is exactly what I expect from Sonic The Hedgehog. Overall, this isn't a show that will change anything or blow anyone away, but it's great if you want to watch something funny or something related to Sonic The Hedgehog that doesn't suck (except SatAm, that one's legitimately fantastic).

The first season of Sonic Boom was great. It had some funny jokes here and there but also lacks some music and plot. Season 2, on the other hand, is splendid. It has improved a lot. Greater music has been added, the show became self-aware at times (Which is very funny), it has better action, plot, etc. The show has been getting better, especially with the four-part episode full of action and good story-telling (and cliff-hangers). The show does poke fun at the fandom at times and can make the audience laugh. This show doesn't deserve more hate than it already has. Sometimes, it's better to give things a second chance. I recommend this show to anyone who wants a laugh and to anyone who wants to see our beloved blue hedgehog goof around in fun adventures. Besides, Sonic Boom is the more comedic side of Sonic the Hedgehog.

I don't know a lot about Sonic. I was a Nintendo kid when growing up so played Sonic a couple times at friends houses but that was it. I am aware of the lore that's grown around it and the concerns of people who've followed Sonic and friends throughout the games.
When a company continues a franchise there's always a concern about whether they will be treating the characters and story with the reverence due to them. Sonic Boom tosses all of that out the window and it is all the better for it.
The characters are reduced to their basic personalities which is bad if you've watched them grow but great when you intend to have them bounce off each other in stories. So Sonic is arrogant, Tails is brainy and good natured if a bit naive, Knuckles is a strong dimwit, Amy is conscientious, and Sticks is a paranoid anarchic lunatic. Dr. Eggman is a villain but more of a needy overblown weekly threat bully instead of an existential.
These characters combine together to work through standard sitcom plots. It's not an adventure show and I feel that's why many reviewers are disappointed. Sonic Boom has answered the age-old question "So you want a realistic down-to-earth show that's completely off the wall and swarming with magic robots?". One episode is about Tails in love with a girl with his friends in the giving advice on how to approach her while Dr. Eggman is in the background trying to pickup a courier package but continually missing the delivery. Another is about Dr. Eggman assembling a group of villains to attack Sonic and to train they go through a series of team building exercises while Sonic and friends try and fail to build a piece of off-brand IKEA furniture.
The animation is bright, colourful, and expressive. It don't showcase amazing setpiece battles and there's never a huge amount of stuff happening on screen but I'm pretty sure that they're limited by their budget. It would be nice if they could hire an action director to help. I don't really care if sonic's arms are blue or not, if he looks off-model it's still good. (Take that Sonic fans!)
Finally, there's the absolutely stellar writing. the plots are clichéd and hackneyed because you've seen them on every cartoon and sitcom before, the writing is aware of this and highlights tropes while continuing on with the story. It's a neat high-wire act, simultaneously charging ahead with a story while pointing out how ridiculous the situation is. There are jokes about the mundane aspects of everyday life. There are jokes with a specificity that kids shows normally don't bother with, it isn't enough that Dr. Eggman has an octopusbot that Sonic mistakes as a squidbot, Dr. Eggman points out the relative size of the head to the tentacles making it clear what animal it is.
This decade is a time of truly great cartoons, Bojack Horseman, Rick & Morty, Archer, Adventure Time, Legend of Korra, and others. Sonic Boom skews younger with it's bright colours but the writing really does put it up there. The second season seems to pretty good as well with a parody of Misery so I would encourage you to check it out.

I think they chose a nice set of voice-actors to play the actors, I never suspected Nika Futterman to be involved since (And I might be wrong) I'm certain the voice-over work is non-union.
Which brings me to a complaint which I hope someone will answer. I keep seeing better known actors like John Dimaggio, James Arnold Taylor, and just previously Mark Rolston?
But how do we know they were even casted? Not once did the first burnbot speak in episode 1, and here it says he was voiced by John Dimaggio?
This sounds like a lie to me... lying on a film site where people review things and offer information about shows, movies, games, and the actors in them, that could be false, is never good.

The show is good, albeit really short for each episode. There is some really good humor here, and the voice acting is solid. The bigger issues is some of this feels like they were phoning this in, especially on season 2, as clearly these episodes were produced at sonic levels of speed. Some of the plots were recycled from season 1, some are something that could be thought up in the time it takes to hit the bathroom, and some are just plain lazy. Which is to say some of episodes feel like filler for when they didn't have time to flush out a script.
All of which I'm pretty sure was due to a break neck production schedule that simply could not make a consistent quality product across all episodes. If you factor that in you should still enjoy the sum of the show.

Eventually the shows writing started to pick up and the writers learned more about the game series, it is a lot more funny for fans now. also the show is more funny all together, because the writers stop using cliché story lines. I would definitely watch late season 1 and Season 2 + as a newcomer of the franchise.

Sadly easily forgettable but it's okay sometimes.
It tries too hard to be funny and fast-pace and that's where it's downfall is at. The voice acting for Amy is acceptable but Sonic, Tails & Knuckles are off by a lot. In the show, they are all suppose to be young teens but the voice acting makes them sound like grown adults trying to be teenagers. This is by far my biggest issue with the show! The plots are decent enough to get by but the writers could add a little more detail into it.
But some of the jokes did deliver and some others, not so much.

I've been a Sonic fan ever since I was seven. My first Sonic game was Sonic Advance 2 for the Gameboy and I've been a fan of Sonic ever since.
However, Sonic Boom brings out some terrible aspects about the franchise. I know it's supposed to be separate from the actual Sonic franchise, but you would think there would be improvements to it at least.
The character designs are better than the original, if I must add. The characters actually look their age and I like how the producers took out humans for the story. The one thing I never could stand was the fact that these mysterious animals that can talk and perform other various actions are somehow able to live in accordance to humans. Not saying there's something wrong with diversity, but I'm glad the producers took that out.
The story is bland, of course. It doesn't have any deep meaning to it and supports itself through ridiculous comedic relief.
This show has little comedy, if at all. The jokes are bland and not once have I laughed or even felt closer to Death by laughing when comedy was involved. They made this show so kid-friendly that it's not even funny.
Stereotypes are highly emphasized. With Knuckles being the muscle of the group, he is a complete dolt. Of course, before Sonic Boom, Knuckles wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but at least he had some understanding and knowledge.
Tails has always been my favorite character because of his intelligence and intellectuality. But this show focuses on the child stereotype on Tails that it's ridiculous. Tails was much mature before Sonic Boom and now, he is smart and good with equipment, but equally kiddie.
An improvement with Amy is that she doesn't fawn over Sonic like she used to. Other than that, I hate how the producers made her into some bossy girl. Not that she was bossy before, but she was never THIS much of a brat.
They've changed Dr. Eggman so significantly that it's sad. Eggman went from this maniacal villain who planned to take over the world and eliminate Sonic if he ever got in his way, to being an outright meddler. There is not one episode where Eggman just says, "You know what? I'm just going to take a break." He's always being involved in Sonic's life and quite frankly, it's annoying.
Other than that, this show is watchable. Despite the lack of action and dry sense of humor, it's worthy of watching. I just hope characters like Rouge, Cream, Vector, Silver and Blaze are added soon. If the show is going to continue, I hope the producers change some elements that can make Sonic fans feel related to what they've always loved and enjoyed, such as bringing back Chaos Emeralds, Chaos, and the impact of action that made Sonic into what fans remember it to be.

As far as negative reviewers go (due to them liking bad shows like Teen Titans Go! and Uncle Grandpa), the show does go well, to say the least, than the games from the Wii U and 3DS. However, despite of how good the show is, its also a miss-able show due to Cartoon Network's inconsistent time schedules (which is surprising as no one mentioned this), airing it from 7AM to 7:30 AM (or 8AM to 8:30 AM). I was hoping that Cartoon Network will improve, but instead, they aired this at a very inconsistent time for the audiences as they'll be too tired to watch the show and risk oversleeping, not to mention falling asleep during the premiere of Sonic Boom. I know I have, and by the time I woke up, I realized that the show airs at 7AM/8AM. Once again, Cartoon Network jumped the shark at making a comeback, so unless Cartoon Network can change the time schedule for Sonic Boom at least 10 AM (9 AM for non-DST), this show is a hit or miss, and to me, it was a miss, so I'm giving this a 4 only for Cartoon Network's inconsistent time schedules for Sonic Boom.

Being a teenage adult its really hard to make me laugh as a TV veteran, but this show really caught me off guard. I was interested in watching this show when I saw on Twitter a clip of Knuckles destroying some of the feminists arguments stating that it breaks the "status quo", then I wondered how is this a kids show. Then I started watching the 1st season and I don't laughing at a kids show since The Avatar, the writting in this is just pure genius, the maturity of the jokes are insane, this show is so good that the only flaw I see on the show is the the animation that looks really cheap. But aside of that, this "kids show" is flawless. It's easily along with the Incredible world of Gumball the most self-aware show on the world. Im really looking forward for the 3rd season.

This is a good show, with quite a few great episodes, sadly, with each great episode comes 10 mediocre ones. I'd say even my '7' rating is quite generous.
The show being self aware is usually funny but that doesn't make the FACT that it's self aware funny. It pulls it of well but the idea that the characters 'know' they're in a show isn't inherently witty, and in my opinion, makes you lose interest in the story.
But Sonic Boom does it well, you have to admit. You also have the quality difference in between seasons. Season 1 is not at all as good as season 2.
And for people giving this a 10... 'The Shawshank Redemption' is a 10, 'The Green Mile' is a 10 and 'L. A. Confidential' is a 10.
You can not say that the quality of this show even compares to those films (I'd use shows instead of films, but I don't watch too many shows anyways).
With all that said, this was a good show and I enjoyed it.
7/10.

Beyond the ridiculous character design, weak stories, and sub par animation, this show has very little to offer. The plots are more like something you would see in a Spongebob episode rather than a Sonic TV Series. I feel like the writers just jumped on to the bandwagon with other Cartoon Network Cartoons, and focused on plot's you'd see on a show like Regular Show or The Amazing World of Gumball.(do they think kids are too dumb to comprehend a single story?) The only difference, is that it has Sonic characters. I tried to not compare this show to any other Sonic show and look at it with an open mind, and I guess there's a lot of kids who enjoy this show, and there's nothing really wrong with that, i guess it just depends on your kid's preference. Another complaint I have is with Amy. She has little to no personality outside of just being a female. they probably didn't want feminists attacking the show, or whatever the case is she used to be one of the funniest characters in the whole franchise, now her and Sonic have that a 'normal friend' kind of relationship. I guess if you didn't like 'fangirl' Amy, then you'll probably like this one better, but it's just insane how much they changed her personality.
Final verdict: it's not terrible. It's really not. It's just your generic Cartoon Network Comedy show, except with cardboard cutout Sonic characters. It's been done a thousand times. I really don't think i'd be at the edge of my seat at midnight waiting to watch this show.

This animation is awesome and super- spectacular.this animation is incredibly beautiful and pleasant along with lovely characters like sonic and tails and knuckles and Amy and shadow and with new characters.every episode of this animation has its own story and in every part of the comedy and strips and exciting and adventure scenes are used. Some parts of this animation show the massage and the concept of friendship and solidarity and the fight against bullying and some of them have a massage and another concept. The fun jokes are used and in general this animation is a beautiful animation that is above a childish series 10/10 so Awesome.

When I learned that it was possible to play Tails alone in the second Sonic the Hedgehog game for the Sega Genesis, it was there that I develop a strong liking for the character. Although I still adore Tails as one of my favorite Sonic characters, I can't say that I appreciate how he is presented in later games and media.
From the 1990s to early 2000s, things were done with respect to tradition. It was during that period when Tails' speaking role was done by young boys. That's the way it should be because Tails is in fact a boy.
But as we go some time past the year 2000, that good tradition was gone. It died when trollops took over being the voice of the fox in those later games and TV series (including this one). It has been that way ever since. Whose idea was it to use trollops? That's not how it suppose to be.
I certainly wish they bring back the good old tradition, and use boys to be Tails' voice again. It's more complimentary to the character that way.
