Now this is interesting! Only one episode in but I am already hooked. This definitely feels like a Hallmark Mystery win to me. Sarah Drew does a great job of being a sweet and charming small town girl with a secret darker past. She played it well! I love that there is a more obvious storyline of a the murder with a layered storyline of her past. I'm very excited to see where they go with her history storyline. And of course the good looking cop to banter with and develop something with will be a win too. Definitely worth watching. Love it when Hallmark actually tries to give a smart audience something a bit more intriguing.

MISTLETOE MURDER: POISON IN A PEAR TREE. Christmas shop owner Emily Lane investigates a murder when a friend is falesly accused of murdering her fiancee. Detective Sam Wilner is investigating the crime and tells Emily to stay out of it, but of course she stays in the hunt in ordervto help her friend. Sam is divorced and he and Emily's relationship is also complicated because his daughter, Violet, works part time in Emily's shop. This mystery is very entertaining, just when you've think you've figured it out, you are thrown another twist and turn. There's also hints and flashback's of Emily's own mysterious past that's a continuing part of the series.

Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney are perfect in the lead roles of the engaging main characters. The supporting roles are also well cast. And as a feline fancier myself, I liked the small role Emily's cats played in her life, it added a fun element. An entertaining mystery and I look forward to the series, and the promise of a possible growing romance between Sam and Emily in future episodes.

I am really enjoying this one.

There is a lot of chemistry between the two leads, which for me is important. Also, they have some really interesting cast members, such as the guy who used to play the doctor in Stargate, and the woman who used to play Umma in the series Kim's Convenience. It has enough forward-moving plot twists to stay interesting, and of course, it has all of the charm of Hallmark small towns.

I am really hoping there will be a season two and even more seasons going forward.

Hallmark seems to have more success with its mysteries and not giving them plot holes, (versus their love stories).

I just found this and finished both seasons in two days. Love it! The new episodes cannot come out fast enough. The mystery is so well done and not as easily to predict as most these days. I love that every two episodes is a complete story, while still having the underlying backstory as such a big part of every season. Sarah Drew is excellent and so is the guy who plays Sam. The actress who plays Violet is adorable! It's really nice to have access to truly clean, fun entertainment, that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Mistletoe Murders is the perfect blend of holiday spirit and nail-biting suspense, with Sarah Drew proving once again why she's a force to be reckoned with. Her portrayal of a whip-smart and determined detective anchors this gripping series, leaving viewers clamoring for more. Drew's magnetic performance adds depth and charm, making it easy to imagine her leading a year-round detective franchise-one that fans would undoubtedly tune in for!

While the series hits all the right notes in its six episodes, it's simply not enough. The richly woven mysteries and engaging character dynamics beg for further exploration. Expanding this storyline beyond the holiday season would be a gift that keeps on giving.

If you love cozy mysteries with a sharp edge and a standout lead, don't miss Mistletoe Murders. Let's hope we see more of Sarah Drew solving crimes, one clue at a time, very soon!

I love mysteries and this one left a major cliffhanger at the end of season one so I hope the next season will be released soon!

My favorite elements: the acting is well done!

The main character, Emily, is a mysterious but good natured woman with flashbacks to her past that has yet to be fully unveiled.

There is a budding romance between her and the main detective due to their work together on intriguing murder investigations that happen in the community.

The Christmas theme makes this a festive watch but would be enjoyable any season.

My wife and I love to watch mysteries, and this one is quite special. Excellent writing and acting put this over the top for us. We have watched every episode and also listened to the audio version on Audible, and it never ceases to thoroughly entertain us. We fully recommend this series for all mystery lovers.

I found this show entertaining enough. It didn't amaze or wow me, but it was sufficiently entertaining that I intend to watch the next episode.

When I tuned in, I thought it was a movie, not a tv series. Once I realized it was a series, I mistakenly assumed that each episode would stand alone. Wrong. I have seen the first episode and intend to tune in again, but I hope they don't drag one story out over the entire season.

The protagonist runs a Christmas shop and it is cute and sufficiently Christmasy. There's not a lot of time spent in the shop, but the other sets are pleasant and attractive.

The viewers aren't privy to the back story yet, but the protagonist seems to have some training in detection and inserts herself into a murder mystery that relates to an acquaintance she admires. We'll see how it goes. If the idea appeals to you, I'd suggest giving it a try.

We loved this murder mystery story ... a Hallmark surprise. Not too dark ... it kept our attention and kept us wanting more, and very entertaining. Acting was excellent. Great chemistry between the Drew and Mooney characters. Sarah Drew is a star ... we want to see more of her and we do not want to see this story end here.

Most murder mysteries are the same ... dark script, dark sullen humorless characters, and endings that leave you sad, disgusting, and often not feeling entertained. But Mistletoe Murders had none of these characteristics thanks to the excellent script, the light and bright setting, and the excellent casting. Well done ... this show is the reason we signed up up for Hallmark streaming for the first time.

...but not really engaging. Was looking forward to watching this mystery, but couldn't sit through it. Tried several times.

The premise looks good. The main character is ok. But the idea of dragging one Hallmark mystery for two episodes didn't work for me. I got very very very bored.

I actually like many Hallmark mysteries, and the timing works when it's 80 minutes or so.

They tried to make the main character interesting and special with all the hints about her past. But at some point the voice-overs 'oooh, I'm so special, I did it before, I have unique skills' got really annoying. Don't even care what's her story.

Overall it's usual Hallmark mystery, not the best one, way too long. I won't be coming back for more.

Hallmark rom-coms and their murder mysteries can be hit or miss, seems like they've had more misses than hits. This one is an exception and looks to be a hit. A movie or TV series always starts with the script, it's what dooms many of them. I'm up to episode 3 and so far the plots, characters and dialog are good.

I like that they're running "Mistletoe Murders" as a series, like the British detective dramas of 3 to 6 episodes, each episode running from 50 minutes to 90 minutes.

The leads Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney are both drama school trained and are very good as is the rest of the cast. It's a shame it's called "Mistletoe Murders", instead of Fletcher Grove Mysteries or something similar, so we could see these characters year around.

I watched all 6 episodes thinking we'd find out more about who Emily Lane really is, but no luck. If it's renewed for a second season, the writers need to reveal Emily Lane's backstory in the first episode, otherwise viewers will start to lose interest in the series.

Watched the first two episodes of Season 2 and I'm happy that it's back. I hope it gets renewed for a season 3 because it's one of the best things Hallmark has produced. Most of Hallmark movies are mediocre and forgettable, not this series. Emily and Sam are a great team.

I've just finished watching the 6 episodes that make up Season 1, and was very happy to see there is a Season 2 ready and waiting. I would like many many more seasons of this please.

What isn't to like? Cosy, none gruesome Murder Mysteries in a small town with a strangely high death toll?! Yes please!! All these murders just happen to occur round Christmas time???

Lead character has a mysterious past that is being teased out, but she seems to be a spy, or a super villain, who knows? And to top it off there is a will they won't they with a tall dark and handsome single dad of a very cool and intelligent daughter.

All the side characters pull their comedic weight too.

Yes, I enjoyed this very much. More please.

But you think you knew that. After all, episode 1 says "Part 1" and the next "Part 2". Then it revolves back around and you start over with another Part 1. It's true. Episode 2 concluded what began the one before. Sort of.

Here's the thing: Emily's voice overs have been dangling a mystery in front of the viewer that goes deeper than the current story. In fact, it's blatant. "Here you go, I'm finally going to .... not tell you yet."

I love Sarah Drew. Her roles are often so much meatier than other Hallmark ladies, with a couple exceptions. Drew has done that even in non-mystery stories like Guiding Emily and Branching Out. In 7 previous Hallmark-like movies I've watched, I have given all 8 or more stars, twice 10 stars. (6-7 stars is my resting point. There must be something special for more.)

At this writing, I've watched the first two episodes. I'm not sure I'll continue despite the looming mystery.

The mystery of the current story is good enough with decent twists and turns. Emily's relationship with Sherriff Sam is building. I really like Sam's daughter who works in Emily's store. My impression in the first two episodes has been that people share too much with Emily without getting suspicious. I like the voice over narration. It's done well in such a way as to sound like Emily is really talking to you, a person.

I have a love/hate relationship with "Amateur Detective" stories. (That's another reason I might stop here.) In so many of them, especially on Hallmark, the amateur takes stupid risks and often endangers others and the prosecution of the case itself. In this story, Emily is slightly less annoying in that respect than the average. Most of the reason for that is because it is intentionally obvious that Emily is not a novice when it comes to danger. There is a hint, again I think intentional, that she may have been on the wrong side of the law in her past, but I'm pretty sure that's a red herring.

Picked this up again after next 4 episodes: I am really ticked off with the ending. It pushes one of my biggest buttons that I have been holding back on in this short series as is. Enough said about that.

There are two more stories. Each one is a complete mystery in two parts with the obvious exception of the ongoing dangling one.

S1E3&4 is a good enough mystery, although perhaps a little tame given it centers around a choral group.

I have a big problem with S1E5&6 regarding logistics and choices following the big confrontation. Also this one ups the danger level. That's all I'll say about this one here.

As I said, I'm really ticked off by the very ending of S1 (presumably S2 at some future date.) Deduct a lot of stars for that on principle.

Very enjoyable once I sorted out that it was 3 blocks of repeating episodes broke down into part 1 and part 2. Was completely confused at first and so was my DVR. However, what was with the huge cliffhanger? I'm not wanting to wait until next Christmas for the show to continue! It really didn't have a Christmas feel to it except she works in a Christmas store but it's open year round so the show could continue in the regular season. I really hate cliffhangers and I highly doubt I will be interested if it takes a year for the show to continue. Most of the movies that have follow ups the next year are actually taking place a year later whereas this show really needs to continue directly where it left off for continuity sake.

There aren't many shows we can watch as a family that keep us glued to the tv and promote fun discussion afterwards! Murder mystery without the gore or adult content. The writing is amazing and the acting incredible! Funny, suspenseful and heart warming. We looked forward to the new episodes every week and were sad to see it end after only 6 episodes. Please bring us a season 3 with more episodes!

I've watched a lot of Hallmark and this is by far my favorite thing they've made. It's got mystery, humor, and romance all with great story telling, as they slowly peel back the layers of the characters. Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney are fantastic, as is all of the supporting cast. Hope that they make many more seasons of this show!

My family of girls absolutely adores Hallmark Christmas movies and Hallmark Murder Mysteries. Both genres bring something special into our lives-whether it's the heartwarming charm of a snowy love story or the intriguing suspense of a whodunit. This series was the perfect blend of the two, seamlessly combining everything we love about both genres into one captivating experience. From the very first episode, we were hooked, and the excitement carried us through every twist and turn in the story.

One of the standout features of this series was its ability to keep us on the edge of our seats. Just when we thought we had things figured out, a new layer of mystery would unfold, keeping the tension alive and our curiosity piqued. It wasn't just about the puzzles and the suspense, though. Although the series is about solving murders, its got a cute and quirky Christmas overtone which is quite enjoyable. The acting is pretty good and the dialogue is usually good. The narration is annoying and not necessary. The main character backstory is a bit goofy. But overall its a fun series to watch.

We love this show! It's really well made and good acting for a Hallmark series. It has a murder mystery in each episode, a romance that you're rooting for and a mysterious storyline woven throughout about the main characters past. What makes it even better is it's all in a Christmas setting. We look forward to new episodes every week and are always waiting on the edge of our seats for the next. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed this show. Its a perfect watch during the cold snowy holiday season. The mysteries are fun with twists that make them unpredictable. I usually skip through episodes of shows but this series I actually put down my remote and watch from start to finish! The characters are all great and you fall in love with them or dislike them right away. Everyone plays their part well you forget they are actors playing a part. Great watch and Im so excited to finally watch season 2!!! Fingers crossed for a season 3!

I found the series weak and only suitable for casual entertainment. A lot of things didn't make sense, and the story lacked coherence. It felt like they just tried to create a Christmas mystery, but the result was a shallow and cliché plot.

I downloaded it because of the high ratings, but after watching it, I was surprised at how overrated it was.

The series had a lot of colorful and festive Christmas scenes, which made it somewhat entertaining, but personally, I couldn't connect with it.

I kept waiting for something to happen in each episode that would keep me hooked, but it never did.....!!!!

Still mourning the cancellation of Mysteries 101 with the cliffhanger ending, but mistletoe mysteries is a great replacement. Chemistry of the characters is excellent and it's fun to see Kylie Evans again. I haven't seen her since Good Witch. It's an excellent cast of characters. The writing is good. The way the stories are presented with narration - It's very well done. Looking forward to seeing more of this throughout the all seasons and not just for Christmas.

Smart, compelling and suspenseful! Mistletoe Murders takes a refreshing approach to the all chipper, and ready to mingle characters we're used to getting in Hallmark seasonal offerings. The lead characters are well grounded, sharp, intelligent and a little bit snarky! The lead actors are seasoned and solid. The town actors are a bit over-the-top at times but it provides a nice contrast to Emily's not so bubbly or quirky personality. The chemistry between the leads is wonderful and could work well romantically or platonically. I'm impressed with the fact they chose to stray from the stereotypical teenager and give her character more depth.

The town has a Havenesque vibe that keeps it feeling mysterious as if it holds its own secrets, while at the same time managing to maintain all the warm, Christmas charm and esthetics you'd want in a cozy book to film series mystery!

I enjoyed every minute of the first two seasons, and I would love to see many more seasons of this amazing show!

Sarah Drew is fantastic as Emily Lane, and her chemistry with Peter Mooney is undeniable from the very beginning. Sierra Marilyn Riley is a standout as Violet, and the entire cast keeps me so invested in the series!

While this Hallmark Murder Mystery series follows a similar formula to its Hallmark Murder Mystery predecessors, what sets this one apart and makes it a very good series worth watching is that our leading lady is more than she appears to be and it's that element that sets this above its predecessors. There's intrigue and it's nice to see a strong female character that can more than take care of herself in a fight and doesn't need rescuing. It's edgy for Hallmark and that's what makes this one special. Granted, I think season 1 was stronger than season 2, but regardless it's binge worthy and I hope there's going to be a season 3. Great chemistry with the entire cast.
