A lethargic love story with forced comedy.

Introduction I loved the most in this film is Actress Aanandhi.

Priyadarshi, who is balancing his career as both a comedian and a lead actor, now comes with Premante, a romantic comedy entertainer featuring Aanandhi as the heroine. The film carries the subtitle "Thill Praptirasthu." Released this Friday, does Premante have enough elements to engage the audience? Has it become another hit for Priyadarshi? Let's find out in this Premante Movie Review.

Plot Summary Madhu Sudhan alias Madi (Priyadarshi) runs a small business with his friends to clear his father's debts and save their family home, which is under mortgage. Ramya (Aanandhi) dreams of a thrilling and exciting life after marriage. Both families start looking for suitable matches for them. Unexpectedly, Madi and Ramya meet at a wedding, and their matching opinions lead to their marriage.

After the wedding, the story takes an unexpected turn. Does Ramya get the thrilling life she imagined? What new path does Madi choose to clear the family debts? How does Ramya react after learning about it? How do the couple handle their married life? Do they stay together? And how does Asha Merry (Suma) enter their lives? The rest of the story answers these questions.

Analysis Premante tells the story of a couple who meet unexpectedly, get married, and discover new truths about each other as their life begins. The film focuses on understanding each other's flaws, adjusting, and moving forward in a relationship.

The first half runs on a light, entertaining note with cute romance between Madi and Ramya, suspicions arising after their marriage, and the truth that follows. However, in the second half, the twist revealed by the heroine shocks both the audience and the hero, giving the impression of a fresh storyline.

But several bank robbery scenes and other sequences stretch logic too far, weakening the narrative. The director fails to maintain the grip established in the beginning. Scenes involving Head Constable Asha Merry (Suma Kanakala) and CI Sampath (Vennela Kishore) are funny but resemble Jabardasth skits rather than cinematic sequences. Due to this, Suma's role doesn't leave much impact. Although the story idea is new, the director couldn't present it effectively.

Performances Priyadarshi performs well as a middle-class youngster and as a husband. Aanandhi gets a role with scope for performance, and she does justice within her limits. Suma Kanakala's character feels more like a TV skit than a film role, offering no freshness. Vennela Kishore tries to generate laughs, while Hyper Aadi and Ram Prasad are underutilized.

Outdated comedy punches appear in a few places. Director Navaneeth Sriram picks a good point but struggles to handle it well after the twists are revealed. Several scenes test the audience's patience, mainly due to missing emotional depth between the husband and wife.

Technical Aspects Viswanath Reddy's cinematography adds vibrant color to each frame. Production values are decent. However, the lack of emotional depth and the uneven storytelling weaken the overall impact.

Final Verdict In concept, Premante offers something new, but the weak narration and lack of emotion make the film feel dull by the time it reaches the screen.

The most romantic blend of funny, cute and authentic

I had to watch this movie to understand what I want rom-coms to be like.

Let's start with the romance. It's the kind of romance that feels real, attainable and authentic. It's not just larger than life moments for the big screen. It feels like this could be someone's story. It feels so neighbourly, that I half believe that I know the couple in real life. I loved the chemistry that the leads actors had. It's not the kind of sexy chemistry that you see in Hollywood. It's a warm, fuzzy chemistry that makes me want to call my wife and tell her that I love her.

Next up, the comedy. As every good rom-com should, this movie has very nice situational comedy. Good setups, great timing and delivery. The whole shabang. But more than that, it's a relatable type of funny, even in unrelatable settings. It's full of those typical Indian things that fill our days. It's got characters that seem like charicatures of the people I've seen and interacted with. And each character is quite cutely written.

And here's what other rom-coms just don't have that Premante has in spades. The plot is not your conventional love > problem > situational comedy > love conquers problem. The plot is unpredictable and yet smooth. The premise is a fun one, and the plot flows smoothly from there, where nothing feels unnatural or unrealistic. And yet I didn't know exactly what was going to happen next. At the interval I found myself wondering what direction it would go in, and more eager to get back to the movie than I was to get snacks.

And finally all those other things that matter to me. The acting was damn good. Nothing over the top or unnatural. All characters played out quite authentically. And I found myself being able to root for each main character, even though some are essentially pitted against each other. The cinematography was beautiful. Each scene was there for a good reason. All details added up to something or helped bring out a character's personality or something interesting about the setting. There were even a fair few scenes which had that professional photograph kind of quality, where you just want to pause and admire. And as a bonus, I quite liked the soundtrack. It will play in the background of my mind for the next few days.

I can only imagine how much I might have enjoyed it if I understood Telugu and wasn't dependent on the subtitles.

Unquestionably Funny and Uncommonly Real

Premante doesn't ease you in. It brings you straight into its world without hesitation. But what happens slowly and very gently is your attachment to the characters, their relationships, 'interests' and the story. Before you realise it, you're emotionally invested. Not because of big moments but because of how seamlessly the film earns your trust.

What I truly loved is how honest the film feels, even when the situations themselves may not be personally relatable. Nothing is dramatised for effect. The relationships are observed with empathy, not judgment, and that makes everything feel grounded and sincere. It never tells you how to feel; it just lets you.

For a debut director, Navaneeth Sriram's work is remarkable. The film is so well-directed that it feels effortless. There's restraint, confidence, and a clear understanding of emotional rhythm and the beauty, but complexity of love and relationships. He has allowed everything to breathe, allowed silences when necessary, and never pushes emotions where they don't belong. That quiet assurance holds the entire film together.

The chemistry between Priyadarshi and Anandhi is warm and believable. Anandhi, especially, is a joy to watch. She is utterly stunning not just at face value but as an artiste who consistently exceeds expectations with every performance and this film is no exception. The Vennela Kishore-Suma Kanakala delivers moments so unexpectedly funny that you find yourself laughing before you even realize it's happening.

No film, just like no relationship, is perfect. But Premante, and the creators of it, somehow makes that imperfection comforting. It makes you feel like what you're watching is real, familiar, and quietly reassuring. Some moments are uncomfortable, some are tender, and some break your heart. But every moment feels earned and organic.

What makes this film special is how accessible it is without ever feeling cheap. There is romance, but it's rooted in emotional realism. And even when cracks appear, the film treats them with warmth and humor, making you almost glad they're there.

It may be a small film, but it has a big, generous heart. And it's the kind of film you hope more people discover, simply because it feels so deeply, honestly made.

2 words .. Entertaining & Family Drama

This family Drama looks refreshing even-though story plot may be predictable. The sarcasm thats blend with the story line is the one that hooked to the end of the movie. It felt it is too much at times. Combined with amazing acting this movie is a decent watch for anyone who go to movie to get a break from daily life.

Refreshing Rom-Com thriller

Premante is a clever, refreshing blend of comedy, romance, and thriller, with a script that twists tradition and keeps the audience guessing. The debut director delivers like a seasoned pro, with spot-on narration along with perfectly timed humor woven from everyday moments that the audience can relate to. Heartwarming, witty, and full of charm, it's the kind of rom-com I'd happily rewatch on a relaxing weekend-"Thrill-U-Praptirastu" indeed.

Wow surprisingly good..

✨ Doesn't look like a directorial debut good story- the Telugu film #Premante. 💕 It's a romantic drama filled with twists that will keep you hooked till the very end. Saw the movie without reading any review or trailer so the twist was unexpected and interesting. Ending is light not heavy well connecting with the audience to leave the theatre light hearted. Actors were good carrying the emotions so well connecting with the story. On the whole a good to watch with family and friends.

Astonishingly beautiful movie

While everyone acted well and particularly nuanced action of Priyadarshi the winner is the director and an amazingly free flowing screenplay. At various places the intelligent flow of scenes was unmissable. I am disappointed with the review writers in mainstream media and thankful that I actually watched the movie trusting the IMDb rating.

Good Entertainer

Nice Entertainer, Good story, good execution, great acting by both Priyadarshi and Anandhi. Good production values. Movie made us sit for all time. No logics missed in movie. Proper screenplay and editing. Music and background score could have been better. The story and storytelling does not have any gaps. Good comedy drama movie after long time in telugu.
