Reviewers say 'Fear' is a polarizing TV series with strong performances, particularly praised for its psychological horror elements and exceptional acting. Many appreciated the tension, suspense, and realistic dialogue, noting the series' ability to create dread and anxiety. However, others found the plot predictable, filled with plot holes, and lacking originality. The pacing was criticized as slow, and some felt the story was unremarkable and unengaging. Complaints about the lack of character development and confusing plot points were also noted. Despite the strong performances, the series received mixed reviews.

Despite the exceptional performances of the actors, the plot was disappointingly predictable and resulted in a convoluted and meaningless conclusion. I was waiting for the plot twist however it never came. Why did the guy Jan have to bug the house? What's the reason behind the death of his sister? I just don't understand I'm so confused. I should never watch bothered watching this. Why did the Mum avoid passing the phone to his dad? Is it because the dad is a killer which is a joke itself? Ruined a very good actor wasted time don't bother watching it. Hopefully there won't be a season two that would be painful.
3 hours of my life I won't get back. Preposterous waste of decent actors in a terribly scripted, awfully directed and woefully edited dullma.
It's slow, and daft and a real shame that normally strong actors would have to try and be convincing in a totally unconvincing story. How did the dafty downstairs get all his equipment together when he can't string a sentence together? How does he afford it? Why did they buy a house with a basement sub let? Why does the Compton character lie all the time ? What was all that nonsense with the woman in the bar? Why did his wife let it go? What were the police doing? Absolute nonsense.

Comston's character is not one I could find any sympathy with. Came across as hot tempered as well as a would be social climber a bit prone to telling porkies. The 'wonderful' house was coldly empty and mausoleum-like and would have taken some heating in Scottish winters. I think the 'ballistic trigger' for any basement tennant would have been the constant din through the ceiling from the floor above! Nothing seemed to come of his wife discovering the message on her husband's phone from a would be female admirer. I think that would have played as big a part in the friction as the weirdo in the basement. Five because it kept me watching.
This started out with a lot of promise, which it sadly didn't deliver. I totally expected it to go a different way to how it did. It starts off a bit unnerving but just gets a bit repetitive and a bit monotonous.
It felt crammed into the three episodes. No real explanations or backgrounds and no proper conclusion. I actually thought there must be another episode. Maybe 4 slightly shorter ones would've been better. Because of the lack of background I found I didn't really care about the characters.
It's a shame because it's got a great cast and the acting is possibly better than the script deserves. The house is stunning. Hence my 6.

The star of this show has to be the gorgeous townhouse. The rest of it is pretty unremarkable. The pacing is a bit slow, and the story unoriginal.
Although the acting is fine, the script doesn't give them much to work with. Nothing really interesting occurs, you could actually miss large bits of the first two episodes and just continue watching without missing anything important.
I'm not really invested in the main characters. The husband is not particularly likeable, and the wife is somewhat dull.
Finally, the ending doesn't make a load of sense. Surely selling the place would have been a much better solution?
