The film is made completely with AI. All visuals, animation, performances, sound, and music are AI; several scenes were even AI-edited.
DreadClub is the first fully A.I. animated feature film ever made, and the first A.I. anime film.
When the first review of 'Window Seat' compared it to Snow White, the first traditionally animated feature film, Hooroo set out to make DreadClub, the first AI-generated 2D animated feature, paying homage to the classic with subtle nods like the DJ character, the evil queen's red necklace, and the idea of true love with an eternal curse.
The film premiered online on July 3rd, but that night Hooroo discovered a live action sound of a cricket was still in the movie; he re-premiered the fully AI version on July 4th. Because a lot of work was done in that 24 hour difference, the cuts are different; he dubbed the July 3rd version as the cricket cut.
The film was generated from over 17,000 still images. "Window Seat" by comparison took 4,000 video clips.
