Ulrin is the biological father of Sam Ares in "Fallen: The Search of a Broken Angel". The Multidimensionals is a prequel, where he's seen in his human form before he passes and is in another form guiding him. Ulrin is cloned without his permission or knowledge having several hybrid children, but trying to guide them as best he can.
