Ian, a struggling musician, drowns himself in his passion for music, while Uta, a successful podcaster, copes with loss through rationalization. Their conflicting ways of handling emotions create tension, making their journey toward mutual understanding both painful and touching.

Iqbaal Ramadhan shines as Ian, capturing the guilt, frustration, and longing of a son who feels he has failed his family. Umay Shahab delivers an equally compelling performance as Uta, portraying a character who is outwardly composed but deeply hurting inside. Their chemistry as brothers feels natural, making their emotional struggles all the more believable. The film's cinematography effectively conveys the mood of each scene, contrasting the vibrant world of Ian's indie band Midnight Serenade with the quiet, melancholic atmosphere of their home. The original soundtrack enhances the storytelling, with emotionally charged songs that reflect Ian's internal turmoil.

While the film successfully delivers emotional impact, some dialogue feels slightly unnatural, and a few scenes seem overly dramatic. However, these minor flaws do not significantly take away from the film's overall effectiveness. "Perayaan Mati Rasa" is a deeply moving film that resonates with anyone who has experienced loss. With strong performances, a touching storyline, and a well-crafted atmosphere.

"Perayaan Mati Rasa" is one of my favorite movies to watch this year. The family drama with heavy musical elements gives a lot of insight into family relationships and the feelings that come with them. The combination of family issues and the world of music is presented interestingly.

The use of the sea as a theme or a kind of world in the story is a favorite part. The depth of the sea depicts the depth of the characters' feelings. Starting from the deepest to the surface. From feeling drowned in his expectations and feeling alienated to being able to accept himself and everything that happens. Just as something in the sea can reach the surface because of a force, so here the moment of loss becomes the force itself. It's a kind of marker to enter the next zone, which is the journey and new feelings experienced by the characters, including the relationship between them.

The chemistry between the actors in this movie is quite solid and some moments really hit me. The beach scene and the recording are the most tear-jerking. What's unique about the characters here is that each of them has a story that describes all the feelings. From loss, happiness, sadness, to fear.

The music in this movie is not just an add-on, it's part of the story itself and portrays the emotions of the characters. Loved Midnight Serenade's stage act and also the friendship between them who can support each other. For the stage action, it feels like watching a live performance and the songs are also good. My favorite song is "Laut".

Technically, I also like the visuals in this movie. The color tones are consistent and fit the theme related to the sea. The details seen on the screen did not escape my attention. The colors, symbols, and surrounding images attract attention. The cinematography is also good. The shots are varied, taken from various angles and the movement is also good. It captures every emotion of the characters and when you watch it, you can feel what the characters are feeling.

This movie is like a reminder that losing a loved one is something that will definitely happen and must be faced. Also, never forget that they were once present in our lives with all the love they have, which is sometimes not realized because of self-constructed thoughts. Don't feel bad because you only realized it when they were gone.
