Just above average

I don't know why everyone is calling this like one of the best thrillers. I honestly felt only parts of the film to be engaging. Other than that it was just a normal story being continued.

First half was almost average for me. Second half picked up the story and some level of thrill was present. Though the ending was pretty underwhelming for me. I predicted it few seconds early, the finale and still it wasn't exactly clear to me why.

Barring the ending also the thrill factor wasn't constant. I didn't even feel anything for the characters. I was like why even go through all that effort by the character.

Honestly, I was disappointed but it was, what it was.

"Crazxy: Overhyped but Underwhelming"

Crazxy: Overhyped but Underwhelming

*"Crazxy" is an okayish movie with a simple plot, but the way it was promoted and the hype surrounding it don't do it justice. Some unnecessary elements were added to the storyline, which felt out of place, especially given the movie's already short runtime. Sohun Shah's performance was commendable, and the background score was well done.

There was an emotional touch to the film, which worked well in certain scenes. However, the way it was marketed created a completely different expectation, making the final product feel underwhelming. After Tumbbad, expectations were naturally high, but Crazxy falls short in comparison. While it has its moments, the storytelling lacks the depth and intrigue that made Tumbbad so impactful. The use of mythological references, like Abhimanyu and Chakravyuh, could have added richness to the plot, but they felt forced and didn't contribute meaningfully.

Overall, Crazxy had potential, but the execution didn't live up to the anticipation. It's a decent watch, but not the groundbreaking experience many were expecting.

Would have given an 8 or 9 stars, if the climax was better

The movie is brilliant with great acting by Sohum Shah. It's an well made thriller. Most of the movie he's driving in the car. It's not easy to hold one's attention with must of the shooting done in the car, yet Sohum Shah manages so well (unlike if you remember Locke , which is a Tom Hardy movie). The way he's stuck in such a situation with so phone calls to solve so many issues is crazy. It's a complete Sohum Shah movie all the way. At some point, even the music reminded me of Tummbad.

It's really good and interesting right till the climax which is a very big let down. Had it been a better climax I could have given this an 8 at least.

Interesting experiment

Making a movie with the protagonist as the only cast is a unique . Sohum Shah delivers the onerous task as an actor quite well. The Cinematography is top class with background music keeping pace. The let down is that Sohum 's character is not fleshed enough ( though it began promisingly with middle finger showing sequence with biker in the beginning) While it was intelligent to show the way he named his characters as " white coat", " Ex" , not many people who watched get to understand why did he name people like that. What suddenly causes him into regret as a father is not well established. The first half is slow and doesn't really build the tension. The second half however is fast and fulfilling. The only drawback for is was that at least we could predict the climax.

A Gripping Tale of Suspense and Emotion

Having watched this film today, I can confidently say that it delivers an incredibly authentic and dynamic cinematic experience. The storytelling is immersive, keeping the audience engaged with suspense at every turn. The realism in the narrative makes it deeply relatable, and the film's ability to capture raw human emotions is truly commendable.

One of the strongest aspects of the movie is how it explores relationships under pressure. It beautifully portrays the essence of true relationships-how they are tested in difficult times and how genuine care is revealed in moments of crisis. This emotional depth adds weight to the story, making it more than just a suspenseful thriller.

The cinematography is outstanding, with cleverly executed shots that enhance the storytelling. Every frame feels meticulously planned, and the direction ensures that the tension never wanes. The background score is another major highlight, perfectly complementing the mood of each scene. The music intensifies the drama, making key moments even more impactful.

While the film excels in many aspects, the climax fell slightly short of my expectations. Given the gripping build-up, I anticipated a more powerful conclusion. However, this does not take away from the overall brilliance of the film. It remains an engaging and thrilling watch.

I would rate this movie 7 out of 10. Despite minor letdowns in the climax, it is a film worth watching multiple times. The meticulous direction, strong performances, and exceptional background score make it a cinematic experience that stays with you. If you appreciate suspenseful storytelling with emotional depth, this film is definitely a must-watch.

Just an extraordinary movie!

From start to finish, Crazxy delivers a thrilling ride filled with twists and psychological depth. Sohum Shah is brilliant in his role, bringing an intensity and emotional complexity to his character that keeps you invested throughout. The screenplay keeps you at the edge of your seat, constantly throwing surprises that challenge your expectations. The cinematography is dark and gripping, with every shot designed to intensify the mystery. The haunting soundtrack adds to the atmosphere, building tension in every scene. While some sequences stretch the limits of realism, they serve to heighten the film's unpredictability and suspense. Crazxy is a must-watch for fans of psychological thrillers that keep you guessing.

Amazing cinematography, fresh execution

Gripping tale, climax may disappoint some people but the whole movie is just really good and keep you on the edge of your seats. Definitely some fresh concept and execution. Its a must watch specially in theatres. Tight BGM in first half at-least and really good songs. Acting is superb. Shots are just really very interesting, hard to find in Bollywood these days. Fresh story in genre. Sohum shah and Girish have done really good job with this movie. Its really exceptional and never seen before in Bollywood. Many easter eggs and small details. Very well thought stories. There are one or 2 places where it feels off in terms of stories but they are not make or break.

A tried a new but couldn't landed

Honestly makers might have tried to do something to what a movie called Aamir tried to do I still consider that film carrying over single character show the greatest but here integration for the film was not there but it all comes down to music which is brilliant by vishal sahab and the message of the film that would prevail for long. Thriller is always the most toughest to pull off and even i believe seeing too much characters in thriller doesn't go well, which this film has made sure off to be precise. Soham is brilliant, voice actors pulled off brilliantly, and car shots specially the 360 degree from outside while Dr. Abhimanyu was having conversation engaged me , and of course the brilliant tyre changing scene.

Do not go with very high expectations

The climax is very poor. Many questions remain and answered, and by unanswered I mean they are unrealistic. The whole movie seems unnecessary. Very expected turns and twists. It's a "highly low budget" movie. Delivers very low grade story. When specially abled children are involved, reviewer automatically get a soft angle. Some reviewers might fear that if they give negative review, they are rejecting specially abled persons.

As a viewer, do not expect too much at the end.

The suspense could have been much better. In Marathi we say " shevati fusaka baar nighla".

You not go it's very high expectations.

Thrilling ride of suspence

This film consists of only three main characters which includes sohum shah himself, his phone and his car. The entire film revolves arround these three characters but still manages to keep the film very intense.

The film starts of very calm but instantly manages to gain suspense, this was just the starting, after the interval, it's a different cinema. The film becomes soo intense that you would beg for it to stop, you won't be able to manage the intensity of the scene that comes right after the interval. One of the most intense scenes I have seen in a while.

The background score and music puts more life into this, good music choice and placement leads to a better viewing experience for the audience.

The only place where they ruined everything and the only reason this is not a 10/10 film was because of the climax. The film raises it's intensity soo high that you would expect something big to happen at the end, The grand reveal. But the climax just doesn't hit as hard as it's supposed to, it's just a normal climax.

Doesn't mean that the climax is bad, it's good and leaves us with a great message and is very unpredictable but it just doesn't hit that hard.

If you consider yourself a film critic or someone who looks deep into the film, you will enjoy the film making tooo as it's very unique. Keeping the film short and only of 1 hour 25 minutes was also a great decision.

A must watch, can't really be rewatched, could have been a 10/10.

Buried under hype and bad writting: A missed opportunity

The movie starts strong, building real hype and engaging the audience effectively. However, it eventually overwhelms viewers with forced, overly dramatic struggles for the protagonist. This could have worked if the protagonist didn't appear so unnaturally calm given his situation. His lack of visible tension makes key scenes feel odd and exposes the weakness in the writing.

The ending falls into what I call a "Strawberry Ending" -- everything turns out fine, which feels out of place for this genre and further highlights the story flaws.

That said, it's a good film overall. It's a promising attempt by Bollywood to explore new concepts and move toward better filmmaking, a welcome change from much of the trash output of recent years.

WORST CLIMAX

I rated it 5 for Cinematography, background score and acting of Sohum Shah, as he's the only actor in this film, rest of the cast are in voice role. But man I'm disappointed with this movie, it's a glorified short movie. I mean even 90 mins is dragged. You can see this kind of story in facebook video with AI narration. Not a movie that you should go to theatre to watch. Complete waste of money.

According to me a thriller only works if the climax works but the climax doesn't work. I guessed the climax at the start of the movie and I hoped to myself that please don't be that but it was that and it sucked hard. No need to check other review. Idk what they are on while reviewing but this, this is absolute sh#t of a thriller.

A Riveting, Unconventional Thriller! In an industry flooded with formulaic thrillers, Crazxy emerges as a gripping, taut, and emotionally resonant film that respects both your time and intelligence. With a runtime of just 93 minutes, this edge-of-the-seat thriller feels almost like a real-time experience. The film is highly unconventional, which means it might not appeal to viewers expecting a traditional thriller format.

The tight screenplay and razor-sharp editing ensure that there is never a dull moment. The real masterstroke of the film is its execution-apart from Sohum Shah, no other actor appears on screen. Instead, we experience their presence only through disembodied voices, a risky yet brilliant storytelling choice. The melodramatic ending might not sit well with all viewers-some may feel that a more understated, ambiguous climax would have been more impactful.

After his spectacular performance in Tumbbad (2018), Sohum Shah proves yet again why he's one of the most versatile and unconventional actors in the industry. Carrying an entire movie on his shoulders, he delivers powerhouse performance, effortlessly portraying a man on the brink of psychological and physical collapse. His ability to switch between emotions-fear, determination, helplessness, and fatherly love is phenomenal. Among the many gripping moments in Crazxy, one particular scene deserves a special mention-the flat tire sequence. In this scene, Abhimanyu is forced to multitask under extreme pressure.

I WAS INVESTED THE WHOLE TIME ✨

Great movie loved the tension build up and I liked how it have only just one main character and no other ..only just voices ,A man ,his car and his smart phone . Loved the ending twist even though the ending was not great as I'm expecting but still the expressions were emotional the dialogues and everything was great especially the natural acting of main actor....it's a 10/10 for me doesn't matter what others think it was really great.

Loved the songs according to the situation and calls creating more tension Still it ends with so many unanswered questions. But the moral at the end was deep..

An unconventional thriller ...worth a dekho!!

Movie Review: Crazxy screening in cinema halls near you!!

A Crazxy film indeed from actor , director Sohum Shah of Tumbbad fame !!

Dr. Abhimanyu Sood (Sohum Shah), an unscrupulous doctor & un-empathetic father to a daughter suffering from Downs Syndrome, suddenly receives a call while going to the hospital from an unknown no. That his daughter has been kidnapped. He has till sundown to pay a hefty ransom and save her !!

What follows, is a frenzied effort by a father overcome by guilt , doing all that he can to make things right and get his daughter back home safely!!

My thoughts .... First half explores Dr. Abhimanyu's relationships with his loved ones - his daughter , ex wife , girlfriend .. none of whom appear on screen and we only hear their voices when the protagonist is driving. Might seem a lil boring for some. But fikar not .. the second half makes up for it and packs in an adrenaline laced punch that keeps u hooked till the end ! Here we see Sohum Shah as an epitome of a multitasking male, juggling with multiple tasks in a highly stressful situation and yet trying to race against time to save his estranged daughter.

Good production value , great direction and acting !! The BGM is great, with the song Abhimanyu, Chakravyuh main fas Gaya hai tu " striking the right chord & complimenting the narrative perfectly".

This seems more like an experimental art film which might not appeal much to the commercial film loving Indian Janta !!

Whether to watch in theatres or not .. for most I would recommend watching it on OTT when it streams, mainly because of an artsy, non commercial touch to the film!!

A decent one-time watch overall. Not in the same league as Tumbbad, yet not bad either !!

Going with 3/5 for this one.. adios🙂!!

Darkness isn't the absence of light. It's the presence of something far more unsettling.

If you're looking for a film that combines intense suspense with unpredictable twists, Crazxy is exactly what you need. Sohum Shah brings his A-game, delivering a performance that is as captivating as it is intense. The film's screenplay is tightly woven, with each scene pushing the narrative forward at a breakneck pace. The eerie background score sets the perfect tone, intensifying the drama at every turn. Though some sequences may seem over the top, they add to the film's wild, unpredictable nature. The cinematography is striking, making each shot feel like a carefully crafted piece of art. Crazxy will leave you questioning reality long after the credits roll.

A Thrilling Ride with a Divisive Climax

Crazy 2025 marks the directorial debut of Girish Kohli, delivering a high-stakes thriller that keeps the tension alive from the very start. Starring Sohum Shah as Dr. Abhimanyu Sood, the film follows a frantic race against time as he receives a chilling phone call that throws him into a relentless cat-and-mouse chase to save his kidnapped daughter. With Tinnu Anand, Nimisha Sajayan, and Shilpa Shukla lending their voices to the narrative, the film keeps the audience engaged through gripping suspense and unexpected twists.

From the opening sequence, Crazxy 2025 proves to be thrilling and gripping. The cinematography is commendable, capturing the urgency of the protagonist's journey, while the editing and direction maintain a strong momentum. However, the storyline occasionally feels choppy, leading to moments where the pacing falters. The climax, in particular, is divisive-while some may find it bold, others may feel it leans into an anti-climax, leaving more questions than resolutions. Interestingly, there are reports of a revised climax being introduced in the film's second week, though whether that enhances the experience remains to be seen.

For those who appreciate edge-of-the-seat thrillers, Crazxy 2025 delivers in terms of suspense and execution, even if its ending might not land perfectly for all viewers.

Rating: 3/5 - A gripping thriller with great performances and tension-filled moments, but an uneven storyline and divisive climax hold it back from being a truly unforgettable experience.

Waste of time

My Review

Summary: The movie, starring a very talented actor, sadly does not live up to expectations. Despite the strong performance by the lead, the film falls flat due to its outdated story and lackluster presentation.

The main issue with the movie is its uninspiring and old-fashioned plot. The story feels like a rehash of numerous other films, with nothing new or exciting to offer. This leads to a predictable and, frankly, boring viewing experience. It's difficult to stay engaged when the narrative fails to captivate the audience.

The presentation of the movie is another major letdown. The direction and cinematography are subpar, making the movie visually unappealing. The pacing is uneven, with scenes dragging on unnecessarily, contributing to the overall sense of monotony.

However, it's important to acknowledge the exceptional performance of the lead actor. Despite the film's shortcomings, the actor's talent shines through, delivering a memorable performance. It's unfortunate that such a great actor had to be part of a project that doesn't do justice to their skills.

In conclusion, this movie is a waste of time and money. It's better to avoid watching it and save yourself the disappointment. The lead actor deserves better scripts and projects in the future, and I hope to see them in more meaningful and engaging films soon.

A must watch item.

"Aap smart hote yah naa hote but aap jab bhi mere papa hi hote". A real goosebumps dialogue.

Crazxy as the suggest is a bulleyse depiction of the crazy attitude of society and its parents/children where the possible unconditional familian bond is being put into question accounting to their selfish expectations and unnatural demeanor. The story showcasing the very obsession of parents to prove their prudence by portraying their child to be smart, and best. And when things don't go as desired, their parenthood may die.

The very short runtime has only accredited to its only couple of cast and synchronised screenplay and bgm.

Special mentions to that messed up scene where sohum shah as Abhimanyu Sood was changing his car's tier plus performing abdominal surgery on a video call with occasional vexatious calls from his daughter's kidnapper. Oh damn, what a depiction.

It is indeed a edge of the seat thriller with strong social message movie. Must watch.

Overhyped Suspense, Underwhelming Execution

Movies that build significant hype around their suspense elements often set high expectations for the audience. Unfortunately, this film fails to deliver on the promise of a gripping narrative and instead struggles with a weak storyline and over-exaggerated sequences. From the beginning, the movie sets up an atmosphere of intrigue, but as the plot unfolds, the so-called suspense starts to feel forced and underwhelming.

The biggest letdown of the film is its storytelling. The script lacks depth, and the twists that were expected to keep viewers on the edge of their seats turn out to be predictable or, worse, ineffective. The narrative progression feels disjointed, making it hard for the audience to stay fully engaged. While suspenseful films thrive on unpredictability and clever storytelling, this one relies too much on unnecessary buildup without offering any real payoff.

One of the most frustrating aspects of the movie is the overhyped sequences. Instead of allowing the suspense to build naturally, the film force-feeds tension through exaggerated scenes.

Best of Soham Shag

Few Bollywood thrillers manage to get everything right, but Crazxy does. Sohum Shah's powerhouse performance is the film's biggest strength, keeping you engaged at every moment. The screenplay is tight, with shocking twists that never feel out of place. The cinematography enhances the eerie tone, while the background music keeps you on edge throughout. Some scenes push the boundaries of logic, but they only add to the film's intense, mind-bending atmosphere. Unlike many thrillers that fizzle out in the second half, Crazxy maintains its grip until the last frame. If you love psychological thrillers, this one is an absolute must-watch!

Strong start, underwhelming climax

Sohum Shah makes a comeback (after Tumbbad) with Crazxy, a 90 minute thriller by Girish Kohli with only Sohum on screen. As Abhimanyu, Sohum delivers a good performance in a film which has a slick editing style.

The camera work was impressive and the scenes are well-shot. The background score purges well with the narrative, however one too many songs felt unnecessary.

Within the first half, it's all a conjecture about the who and the why; which made me glued to the screen. The pacing was good and nothing seems half-baked, either with the characters or with the story.

In the second half, the tension seems to be fluctuating, wherein at a moment it feels like something would be revealed, while in another second the story just keeps moving.

Throughout, the film builds a strong cover, only to give a climax that felt like a big letdown and somewhat predictable to me. Neither the revelation packed a hard punch nor it gave anything to amaze at.

Overall, Crazxy is a small budget, smart paced film with an engaging story that definitely needs a watch atleast once, although the ending might be a letdown for many.

Due to it's fresh script and good performance from the lead packed with a weak and forgettable ending, I give 'Crazxy' a decent 3 stars.
