Zenless Zone Zero

I wasn't a big fan of gacha games, Especially Honkai: Starrail and Genshin Impact, but I reluctantly tried Zzz and I don't regret playing at all, This so called "Gooner Game" has peak gameplay, peak graphics, amazing characters, and REALLY Amazing Soundtracks, yes the game has some skimpy outfits like Nicole's and Burnice, but when i played the game i was so focused on the gameplay and the story that I didn't focus on their outfits, whoever calls this game a gooner game is someone that haven't given the game a shot, because there's a lot of gooner games like Overwatch, but no one talks about them because they're a well-known games, Zenless Zone Zero is a Gacha Game made by HoyoVerse, the same people who made Genshin impact, that's why it's so hated, You rarely see someone who actually played the game for a good amount of time and say it's a bad game, because the game is literally perfect ( for me ) in every aspect, Amazing Gameplay, Soundtracks And Characters, While I'm writing this Review, 1.5 is 1 day away, and the things this update have is so much for me to cover in this review, my point is; Every time Zenless Zone Zero releases an update, it's gonna be huge, with amazing Agent Stories / Main story Chapters, to the limited time characters and Events

I know this might be a bit long of a review, and honestly I needed to let everything off my chest

One Point will never change "Zenless Zone Zero" is a peak game despite the Gooner allegations.

Zenless Zone Zero is an absolute gem - a vibrant, fast-paced action RPG that fuses style, story, and gameplay with incredible finesse. The characters are diverse, charismatic, and deeply memorable, each with unique fighting styles and backstories that hook you in. The lore is rich and mysterious, revealing a world scarred by the Hollows and shaped by hidden factions and personal agendas. Combat is fluid and exhilarating, with tag-team mechanics that reward skill and timing. On top of that, the city exploration, mini-games, and rotating events make the game feel alive and immersive. Whether you're diving into Proxy missions or just vibing in New Eridu, ZZZ blends storytelling, worldbuilding, and stylish fun like few games out there. A must-play for action and lore lovers alike.

First of all ill start with the combat , everything looks really very very good . You are able to notice the amount creativity and effort put into just the ui and how everything is presented to the player . This is one of my favourite part of the game it is just very good looking with it being cery stylised and a poppy colored aesthetic

The main cream of the cake is the combat .

Many people say that it is button mashy and in they are not wrong but the problem with their opinion is that they've only experienced the early game . In start you can just mash buttons and win but as you progress through the game you start to notice intricacies in the gameplay and if you're not being careful about when you dodge and when you attack then you're punished by the game for it . Hence making the complaints about the game irrelevant because those people have just not reached the endgame yet

Finally for the story and characters . Unlike other Hoyoverse games this game tends to fall under the more mature side as the characters sometimes make some questionable jokes which is a breath of fresh air considering the other Hoyoverse games being so childish And for the story part its still just in its normal' phase and its yet to dive into more serious or mature themes but this is just the start of the game and iam really confident that this game will not disappoint.

All in all a very fabulous foundation for a gacha game with newer updates it is only going to get more better and better while adding deeper mechanics and new content.

So after much hype and fanfare the game released, and it is probably the worst game I've seen from Mihoyo (Hoyoverse) yet. Even the now 10-year old Gun Girl Z (shut down now) looked and felt less cheap and generic than this.

Let's start with the not so bad, the combat is ok-ish, it's not truly bad but doesn't feel great either. The Characters are well-developed, and and the story is well written. But that is pretty much where the good ends unless you want to nitpick at little scenes like when General Chop cooks a meal , the cut scene is truly enjoyable. And the Bangboos are cute.

But that is where any enjoyment ends, the gameplay-style is a mix of visual novel and small area limited combat. To me it does not feel good, but that might be personal preference.

The UI is terrible, it looks like Game boy Color rejected it in the 90s but someone very stubborn really wanted to re-use it. Everything looks overcoloured , overly "pop-art" and overall like 15 different Graffiti fought for dominance in menus , character screens, and pretty much everywhere. Its just not nice to look at. Why we have tiny writing in some menus , giant "mobile" optimized selection prompts in the middle of the screen overlaying everything in other scenes, i don't understand the choices , nothing feels like it has a coherent theme and it doesn't make sense.

Everything in the game felt the way you imagine a cheap generic mobile gatcha would feel like if all clichés were true. I have no idea what went wrong with Mihoyo and this game , Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail and even Honkai Impact 3rd all manage to not feel like generic cheap rushed mobile shovelware, this game fails to feel like anything but that.

While it is of course a live service game that will receive updates, i don't see how the fundamental feeling of "cheap mobile garbage" can at any point be overcome by this game. I uninstalled it and i don't intend to give it another try.

The atmosphere and story is peak fiction one of the best original stories and the character design Is amazing and I love how much care this game has with amazing events every month and just recently as of 2.0 an event about fighting in a mech honestly the best event thats in the game.the animations...cinema character idea animations and even story is absolutely amazing 10/10 they should make an anime.

As a new player to gacha I've instantly been hooked. Iv'e seen this game grow to an even better experience since I played it back when it first released in July 5th the best choice I made in 2024.
