If there’s one thing the Final Destination franchise has taught me, it ain’t a fan of Fugees. “Killing Me Softly” it does not. When the bastard comes, it comes with bloodthirsty revenge! All sadistic, all brutal, and all with some twisted sense of humor.
Piling up this list was both an easy and a hard task. I think placing them in order from least to best was rather difficult. Hence -and I might be, like our leads, cheating- why I like to see this list as my favorites one in the franchise, the ones that left an enduring impression on me right after the film concluded. As you will see, some managed to land here because of their execution, their level of fun and absurdity, how traumatic they were either for me or other people, and so on.
So without further ado, let’s kick this large chain of events off.

Celebrating her recovery from cancer, Purnama (Hana Malasan) invites her younger sister, Kembang (Zara Leola), to go on holiday to a newly opened natural resort in a remote place. To get there, they board a tourist train that specifically takes trips to the resort. A series of terrors and mysteries arise when, every time they pass through the tunnel, one by one the carriages disappear. Now the lives and deaths of passengers and train officers are at stake. Purnama, Tekun (Fadly Faisal) the train steward, and the mysterious passenger Ramla (Putri Ayudya) diligently try to warn people. Unfortunately, as the warning is ignored, Purnama, Kembang, Tekun, and Ramla take action to save the train from the bigger threat that awaits in the final tunnel.

The Train of Death, beneath all the horror, tells a sad tale of the kind of havoc mankind has wreaked upon nature. It asks the question: What would it take for us to realize that this is not how we can sustain ourselves on this planet? It makes us imagine what would happen if the trees, the birds, and the animals started retaliating like humans do. The Train of Death reminded me of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, where the trees waged a rebellion against Sauron, as they had endured enough and stayed quiet for centuries and ages. Still, to this date, there are people who don’t find anything wrong with deforestation, who say that climate change is not real, and who disregard nature and the flora and fauna that maintain the balance on the planet. The evidence of our greed is right in front of us. The temperatures are soaring,...
