Idiyan Chandhu

Not a mega movie with mega stars but the plot is very well grounded to entertain the viewer if you don't expect too much. And truth be told it may not be worth watching in a theatre.

However In a time when movies of many mega stars are worthless to spend time on, this is one simple story that just gives you a short time pass.

I have rated 7 not because of the story or stunt scenes but the casting has been just smart and each of them did their part excellently well.

Will there be a part 2? The sad part of it then would be Chandu will not 'grow up' even if he passes the exam and becomes a police officer.

There is nothing extra ordinary about this movie. How childhood trauma carve an adult is not a new subject. The screenplay however is very much predictable and we know how the movie is turning out and where it will go. Actors even though capable cannot do much only with their acting skills if screenplay is not in their favour. Other than logical questions like how verybolder students are still in high school, certain movie scenes raise questions and would make me think, is it really possible? As usual this movie too end with a hint to a sequel which i donmot think is needed at all. I would only recommend the movie if you have a lot of time in your hand and want to kill it.

Malayalam movie Idiyan Chandu (aka Fighter Chandu) - Action director Peter Hein's First outing after Kalki 2898 AD.

Went to watch it solely because of his name, Action director Peter Hein. The film opened with promising flashback scenes, stunning title animations, but when it cut to the present, the whole film went into PATHETIC MODE. Ruined by bad editing, poor pacing, and terrible writing.

A perfect example how important is the script, even if you have a good premise. After the horrific death of a notorious police constable, his short-tempered son Chandu must pass his +2 exams to get his father's job in the police force. Totally a PATHETIC MOVIE.

Still wonder why Baahubali, Kali 2898 AD action director Peter Hein said yes to this film. A pathetic 2/10.

A fun filled action family entertainer after Premalu!!!

The plot of the story revolves around Chandu,who is stamped as a short tempered and mischievous boy by the locals and how he grows up with the stamped tag and the interesting repercussions that comes across him forms the story.

Director Sreejith Vijayan has triumphed in bringing an engaging and entertaining movie for the family audience by merging all aromas like family emotions,action,humour that keep them hang on to the screen.

Incredible performance by Vishnu Unnikrishnan throughout the movie. Director has used the potential of Jayasree Shivadas to the best in this movie and is definitely going to be a trump card in her filmography. Splendid performances by Lena,Lalu Alex,Johny Antony,Balu Sopanam,Gayathri Arun,Sooraj Thelekkadu,Kichu Tellus,Fukru,Vidhya Vijayakumar,Sminu Sijo & Abhija Sivakala. Chandu Salim has made an outstanding performance in the action sequences with Vishnu and he proves he is here to stay.

Hats off to Sreejith Vijayan & Vishnu Unnikrishnan for executing this entertainer. Good Background score by Deepak Dev & don't leave the screen before the end title credits.

A fun to watch entertainer and definitely a green signal for the family audience.
