Bailey, a young Black woman in her late 20s, struggles with romantic connections and personal growth after the breakup of her long-term relationship. At the onset of the film, we see Bailey, our main character, sleeping next to her boyfriend, Kofi. Bailey and Kofi have had a relationship filled with ups and downs since college. At this point in time, Bailey is seeing success at work and looking to secure her romantic future as well. When Bailey wakes up on the anniversary of her and Kofi's relationship feeling unhappy with their progress, she ends the relationship and steps back into the dating world. There she has to navigate familial expectations, her own internal battle with her romantic desires, and what it means to really put yourself first.
