Absolutely love this program! I love the fact that Pete is always excited building treehouses. You can see he obviously LOVES his job! I only WISH I could live in one. It would be my ultimate fantasy come true!!!! I love watching him pick the perfect tree...he even loves the trees!!! I wonder what the cost is...but since I'll never be able to afford one...I guess that doesn't matter. I'll just continue watching and dreaming. I wonder...if you have dogs..how would they get to the treehouse? Oh, I guess those beautiful bridges would work...as long as the dog isn't to afraid if it moves :) ...that's all I would need....my dog falling out of a tree house...wonder if their health insurance would cover that :)
I like shows like this where stuff gets designed and built. I learned about carpentry; something I won't ever do but I want to understand. I do not mind that the show has the same structure every week. I'm not sure chaos would work when your trying to produce a tree house. I'm also into the corny dad jokes and crew camaraderie. And quit picking on Pete. He's not an actor. He's a skilled carpenter. Sorry Tic Tok gen. You really aren't doing any better in your vids. On the real down side, in a world where housing is short and homelessness is increasing building tree house for wealthy folks who often have a town house and a country house seems to be a let them eat cake moment. Maybe Pete could come out of the trees and do some tiny house projects. I can appreciate these tree top extravagances although I have reservations about the social worth. And my.last complaint. The designer who took over in the eighth season has weird ideas about what belongs in a tree mansion. On one episode she installed a dead stuffed raccoon. She also seems to favor light colored furniture. I guess the maid comes twice a week to the arboreal tree palace. In spite of my critique I loved the show. I may some day build a cabin. It won't be a tree house but the show has given me some interesting ideas about what I'd like.
The show starts off fine. I wanted a show about craftsmen making awesome tree houses, instead I got a terribly scripted family comedy show on Animal Planet of all things. As the seasons go on I'm surprised it's even featuring the building aspect. There's no point in watching past the second season as the show goes down hill quickly. I'm sure your 9 year old would like it, as it quickly devolves into a terrible YouTube'esk influencer self-indulgent power hour for people who'd rather tune out their brains. The terrible pop ups, editing, and overall production of the show ruin what could have been an excellent show. 10/10.
When I first started watching the show, the host struck me as very odd - too excited, hugging trees, etc.
But, it turned out to be a feature of the show, not a bug! Pete loves his trees, and it is abundantly clear that he loves his clients.
His vision is astounding, and his creativity is limitless. The crew really knows what they're doing, and every treehouse on the show is breathtaking.
My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that the crew is occasionally forced to act out scripted lines, but it's a fun show, and it is forgivable and doesn't really detract from the overall feel.
If I had $80,000 to spare, I'd call Pete in a second.
