Rare breed Cinema.

"Rapture" by Dominic Megam Sangma is a rare breed of cinema, set in the heart of a remote village in the Garo Hills. The film is a visual marvel, thanks to the awesome cinematography by Tojo Xavier and the immersive sound design by Vineet Vashistha. From the very beginning, "Rapture" captivates the audience and leaves them in a state of awe long after the credits roll.

This sophomore film deserves the highest praise and a must-watch film for its compelling plot, It carries elements reminiscent of Dostoevsky's, delving into complex character and morality themes. It delves into the complexities of belonging, shedding light on real-world issues while wrapped in rich symbolism and poetic storytelling.

"Rapture" is a profound exploration of light and darkness, raising thought-provoking questions about who the true outsiders are in a community on the edge. This film is a triumph of art and storytelling.

I encourage everyone to watch it.

"Rapture: A Haunting Mirror of Today's Society and its Moral Turmoil"

"Rapture" transcends the screen to resonate deeply with the present-day chaos in our society, where law and order, political scandal, and the underbelly of society's darker aspects have come to the forefront. Director Dominic Sangma's narrative takes us to a Meghalaya village, but its implications stretch far beyond the film's setting.

In a world plagued by mistrust and paranoia, the movie's exploration of the thin line between morality and ethical decay feels eerily familiar. As we witness the spreading rumors of child kidnappers and the unexplainable disappearances in the village, it's hard not to draw parallels to the uncertainty that permeates our society today. The way the film portrays the 'othering' of outsiders and the conspiracies of silence and concealment speaks to the uncomfortable dilemmas we face as a nation.

"Rapture" becomes a chilling reflection of how communities can resort to extreme measures under the guise of unity and peace, mirroring the societal unrest and political machinations that have left us on edge. Just as in the film, it feels like we are living in a world where truth is elusive, and every stranger is suspect.

While the film may offer a glimmer of hope through the destruction it portrays, it challenges us to reflect on our society's own predicaments. "Rapture" serves as a stark reminder that our world is in desperate need of renewal, but that renewal may come at a price.

This thought-provoking film is a compelling allegory for the chaos, corruption, and political upheaval that defines our times, making it a poignant watch for those seeking insight into the current state of our society.

Best of the best

Simply the best and in a generation where the truth is clouded with so many things this film just shows us how to set ourselves back down to the real world and see what fear can do to everyone and anyone.

The Film sets itself apart from our common plot points and show us the dark truth of what lies in fear as a whole. This film is grounded to it's roots and at the same time it feels as if an artist from beyond our time has painted it's frames to be exactly what it is now. We are so glad as a community to see a film all the way from Meghalaya to be at this point. It is a reminder for us and a standard we will all aim to set with our own visuals.
