The first teaser trailer for a new sci-fi horror comedy titled Cold Storage has been released online, and this one looks like it could be a lot of gruesome, gloopy fun.

Starring Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian) and Liam Neeson (The Naked Gun), the story focuses on a pair of self-storage employees (Keery and Campbell) who must fight to survive after an outbreak of a lethal parasitic fungus which makes quick - and explosively messy - work of anyone it infects.

Neeson plays a military man who first encounters the fungus, but we don't expect to see much of him in this movie (there's a good chance the trailer features shots from all of his scenes).

Alison Brie and Dave Franco star in “Together,” a new body horror romance film where the real-life spouses play a couple in need of some distance. The film premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January to rave reviews. Neon purchased distribution rights to “Together” for $17 million, making it the first major sale out of Sundance.

Shudder’s Best Wishes For All is a knockout, and who would have guessed Final Destination Bloodlines would be one of the best in the series? TIFF organizers announced on Thursday the first five titles of its official selection, all of which are set to world premiere in Canada. Per Deadline, Liang has been cast as Chun-Li, a martial artist and Interpol officer who seeks revenge for the death of her father by the series' antagonist M. Bison. She first appeared in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, which was developed and published by Capcom in 1991 for arcades. As for Liang, she's a relative newcomer to the industry, with only four major acting credits to her name. She made her debut in the first season of the Itvx teen drama Tell Me Everything, which premiered in 2022. Liang then appeared as a young Rue Corintha in a 2023 episode of Foundation before landing the lead role in the 2024 heist thriller Bad Genius. Her most recent acting credit was in the Steven Soderbergh-directed supernatural thriller Presence, which was released in theaters earlier this year by Neon.

Here comes a new challenger. The new Street Fighter movie has found its female lead in the form of Callina Liang, who starred in the haunted house horror film Presencelast year. In a crowded field, Hulu is fast-becoming one of the must-have streaming services. 2025 has been a good year for Hulu subscribers, with Chloe Fineman's critically-acclaimed comedy "Summer of 69" dominating the streamer's charts in May and Best Picture winner "Anora" doing the same back in March. We've also seen Timothée Chalamet's Bob Dylan biopic "A Complete Unknown" rocking the Hulu rankings, while Pamela Anderson's overlooked 2024 drama "The Last Showgirl" finally found an audience on the platform in late May. Considering how often these charts get clogged with some of the worst examples of streaming-age sludge, that's a pretty good run for Disney's streamer, and now we've got yet another interesting and unique entry on the Hulu charts in the form of "Presence."

The big conceit of Steven Soderbergh's supernatural thriller is that it's shot entirely from the point of view of a ghost haunting a suburban family home.

In a statement Tiziana Rocca – the marketing guru and current Taormina Film Festival chief who also heads the event in the Italian island of Sardinia – praised Coppola as a fresh voice in international auteur cinema who has been able to depict “with a unique and deep look the contradictions of the human soul and the transformations of contemporary society.”

Presence is one of several horror movies coming to Hulu this week and will premiere on the streaming service on Tuesday, June 3. The project reunites Soderbergh with screenwriter David Koepp following their collaboration on the 2022 thriller Kimi. Presence was made in complete secrecy and not announced until a month before its worldwide premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2024.

June arrives this weekend, which means a new slate of library additions is set to arrive on your favorite streaming services. Hulu, HBO Max, Netflix, Peacock, Paramount+, Shudder, and Tubi have announced their June 2025 lineup, so we’re compiling them all into a handy horror guide for your watchlists.

Of note, Hulu is embracing the Aliens and Predator franchises in a big way, especially with the arrival of the animated anthology Predator: Killer of Killers. Peacock goes all in on the Jurassic World franchise just ahead of Jurassic World Rebirth, which will be released in theaters in July. The streamer also celebrates the 50th anniversary of Jaws with a film collection dedicated to the franchise.

This film had previously premiered at the Sundance Film Festival back in January 2024, but only those at the festival were able to experience it firsthand. The Filming Italy Sardegna Festival, founded and directed by Tiziana Rocca, has laid out some of its plans for the upcoming 8th edition. The Sardinia-set fest, which combines cinema and television, runs from June 19-22 in Cagliari and at Forte Village.

The short film competition will be presided over by actress and director Micaela Ramazzotti. She will be joined by Heather Graham, Alec Baldwin, Rocío Muñoz Morales, Riccardo Milani, Aurora Giovinazzo and Giacomo Giorgio. Italian actress Martina Stella will act as the fest’s godmother.

Notable guests will include Simon Baker, who is due to receive the Filming Italy Excellence Award, and Oscar-winner Cuba Gooding Jr., who will be honored with the Filming Italy Creativity Award. French actress Anouchka Delon will also attend, receiving an award in memory of her father Alain.

Steven Soderbergh’s horror film Presence, which debuted at Sundance in 2024, is among the films confirmed to screen.

Alec Baldwin, Heather Graham, Simon Baker and Cuba Gooding Jr. are among the Hollywood talents booked to attend the upcoming eighth edition of the Filming Italy Sardegna festival, which will be held June 19-22 on the island of Sardinia.

Baldwin, who has recently been seen in the ill-fated Western “Rust” and in numerous appearances on “Saturday Night Live,” and Graham will be members of the fest’s jury dedicated to short films. Also on the jury of the fest’s shorts competition – which is the event’s only competitive section – are Italy’s Micaela Ramazzotti (“Like Crazy”), who is the jury’s president; Spain’s Rocío Muñoz Morales; Italy’s Riccardo Milani, Aurora Giovinazzo and Giacomo Giorgio; as well as professor Massimo Arcangeli, Andrea Minuz and Tiziana Rocca, the marketing guru and current Taormina Film Festival chief who launched the Sardinia event eight years ago.

For years, the state had let opportunity slip through its fingers when it came to film and TV production after Gov. Chris Christie suspended the state’s Film and Digital Media Tax Credit Program in 2010. But in 2018, his successor, Phil Murphy, reinstated the credit, offering up to 30% of eligible expenses and up to 35% in certain more remote areas; over time he expanded the money available, offered incentives for productions meeting diversity criteria and locked in the program through 2039 to provide stability for content producers.

Last year, the revitalization continued when the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission named Jon Crowley executive director. Crowley spent decades in the television industry and has been an elected official in his New Jersey hometown.

Steven Soderbergh was frustrated by the underwhelming box office performance of his latest film, “Black Bag,” and he is concerned that its poor earnings could represent a dark sign for Hollywood’s future.

When “Black Bag” hit theaters in March, the film received widespread praise and emerged as one of the most well-reviewed films of the year. Its critical success did not translate financially, though. The film grossed just over $38 million at the worldwide box office, falling short of its reported $50 million budget.

“It was frustrating. The people we needed to come out didn’t come out. And unfortunately, it’s impossible to really know why,” Soderbergh told Business Insider Monday about the spy thriller‘s financial performance. “My concern is that the rest of the industry looks at that result and just goes, ‘This is why we don’t make movies in that budget range for that audience because they don’t show up.

Exclusive: Steven Soderbergh is out to the town with an untitled feature doc, centered on the final interview of John Lennon, multiple sources tell Deadline.

This is the first doc in many years for Soderbergh, who released And Everything Is Going Fine — on the life of multi-hyphenate artist Spalding Gray — through Sundance Selects in 2010. Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired North American rights to Studiocanal’s sci-fi comedy “Cold Storage.” The filmmakers have unveiled a first look.

The film toplines “Stranger Things” breakout Joe Keery alongside “Barbarian” standout Georgina Campbell and “Smile” star Sosie Bacon. The cast also includes screen veterans Vanessa Redgrave (“Mission: Impossible”), Lesley Manville (“Phantom Thread”) and Liam Neeson (“Taken”).

Jonny Campbell, whose credits include “Dracula,” directs from a screenplay by Hollywood veteran David Koepp, adapting from his own novel. Koepp’s scripting resume includes blockbusters “Jurassic Park,” “Mission: Impossible” and more recently, “Presence.” Gavin Polone, known for “Zombieland” and “Panic Room,” produces alongside Koepp.
