Three weeks after premiering on Netflix, Young Sheldon has ascended to the most watched show on streaming platforms in the United States. A platform switch to Netflix also sent The Super Mario Bros. Movie to its biggest streaming week to date.

The two titles, which rank second and third on Nielsen’s streaming chart for the week of Dec. 4-10, are the latest examples of Netflix’s multiplying power. Young Sheldon had 1.63 billion minutes of viewing on Netflix and Max for the week, after recording 1.85 billion minutes a week earlier and 963 million for its first week on both platforms. The Big Bang Theory prequel had never charted before the past three weeks (it was previously exclusive to Max) and has easily surpassed its parent show in viewing time all three weeks. The Big Bang Theory had 592 million minutes of watch time on Max for Dec. 4-10.

The second season of the Peacock anthology based on the Wondery podcast brings to screen the true-crime story of Paolo Macchiarini (played by Édgar Ramírez), the pioneering Italian surgeon whose revolutionary biosynthetic tracheas could be a medical solution to the traditional trachea transplant. His work is so impressive, he becomes the subject of a TV profile from New York journalist, and former NBC producer, Benita Alexander (Mandy Moore), who — spoiler alert — ends up contributing to a much more important Vanity Fair article that ultimately unmasks the real Paolo Macchiarini.

The Crown Season 6 Part 2 came out on December 14th, and before the final part of the last season dropped, people binge-watched the sixth season and made it secure a spot on the Top-10 Most-Watched Web Series list for the fifth time.

“Leave the World Behind” opened with a bang as the apocalyptic thriller cracked the Netflix Top 10 during the Dec. 4-10 viewing window at No. 1 on the English Films list with 41.7 million views, making it the most-viewed title this week as viewers attempted to dissect that final theory in director Sam Esmail’s adaptation of Rumaan Alam’s novel of the same name.

Starring Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali, and Myha’la, the film landed on the streamer on Dec. 8 following its world premiere at AFI Festival on Nov. 22.

The film was followed by “Family Switch,” starring Jennifer Garner and Ed Helms, which scored the No. 2 spot on the English films chart with 18.6 million views, then Adam Sandler’s animated comedy, “Leo”

“Squid Game: The Challenge” was the number one English language TV show on Netflix for the second straight week.

For the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3, the reality competition show racked up 11.4 million views. That is on top of the 20.5 million views the show drew in its debut week. Elsewhere on the Top 10 chart, the new series “Obliterated” from the team behind “Cobra Kai” debuted at number three on the English TV chart with 7 million views. “The Crown” Season 6, Part One slipped to number four this week, down from number two last week. The latter six episodes are expected to arrive on Dec. 14.

Other shows in the Top 10 this week include “Bad Surgeon: Love Under the Knife” with 7.4 million views, “Young Sheldon: Season 1” at 2.7 million views, and “Young Sheldon: Season 2” with 1.7 million views.

On the film side, the animated Adam Sandler film “Leo” also remained at number one, adding 23.6 million views to its initial 34.6 million.

Some people see doctors, especially surgeons, as gods because of their ability to save lives. Macchiarini used that belief to his advantage to conduct his experimental surgery on patients. The three-part series cemented a stellar debut, rising to second place on the Netflix streaming charts in North America shortly after its release.

Netflix's Bad Surgeon: Love Under the Knife pushes the controversy surrounding a renowned surgeon into the forefront with the help of a cast of journalists, fellow surgeons, and relatives of his past patients.

Bad Surgeon is a three-part series that chronicles the rise and fall of Swiss-Italian surgeon Paolo Macchiarini after being exposed for being a medical fraud.

While Macchiarini became well known due to creating the world's first plastic organs, it was eventually revealed that many of his patients who he had operated on later died.

It’s hard to keep track of all the ethical violations depicted in Bad Surgeon: Love Under the Knife, the new three-part Netflix docuseries whose title suggests a straight-to-cable Nineties TV movie. Some of the sins here on display are, literally, mortal: Paolo Macchiarini, an apparent sociopath, a definite conman, and, worst of all, a surgeon, left a trail of corpses in the wake of his fraudulent stem cell procedures, in which he inserted plastic tracheas into people before even testing them on animals. Others are more venal, if extremely aggravating to journalists.
