StuGo

I have seen the first four episodes of the Disney Channel's new animated series, StuGo, and I must say that it is one of the Disney Channel's better shows. It is about six young honor students who get tricked into coming to a mysterious island by this mad scientist so that they can repair her laser beam that she wants to carve her face on the Moon. When that didn't work, she had no choice but to let them spend the entire Summer on her island full of monsters and mutants she created. I would say that this show should be considered "Total Drama. Island" meets "The Island of Dr. Moraru". I give this show a nine out of ten. I would have given it a ten if they gave it a better name.

The upcoming series StuGo went above and beyond my expectations. The animation style really compliments the story and the fun nature of the characters, while still keeping a serious tone to certain characters, such as Dr. Lullah and Mr. Okay, making it fun for kids and families.

StuGo follows six genius middle schoolers, Pliny (Tania Gunadi), Chip Manhands (Zach Reino), Merian (Zosia Mamet), Francis (Gabourey Sidibe), Larry (Charlyne Yi ), and Sara (Deborah Baker Jr.) who are heading to "Dr. Lullah's Legitimate Summer Camp" until things go quite differently than expected.

The quality of this show makes it clear how much time and effort Disney put into it and it pays off. The series has great classic humor, such as the character Francis, who is an iconic silent type who brings hilarious deadpan reactions to the show. Another great character is the Nannytee (episode 2) a Manatee that Dr. Lullah uses to get the kids out of her hair. Over the course of this episode we see a story arc for Dr. Lullah, from wanting to get away from the kids to risking the thing she spent all day working on for them. This episode also has a witty, cautionary tale of what might happen if you could actually attract an asteroid to Earth with your fingers. Pliny teaches Larry how to "noodle," which is the art of fishing with your fingers, and Larry lets a little too loose. We see the characters grow and become new versions of themselves, because each character has their own story arc, even in the three episodes I watched.

This show has many good messages, including the importance of friendship and the idea that you can have fun while still being careful. Each message is pushed naturally and sinks into your mind very well, subtly teaching great lessons. However, if your child has a fear of suspenseful themes and some odd looking mutated characters, you may want to review the show before letting them watch it.

I give StuGo 5 out of 5 and recommend it for ages 8 to 18. The series launches on Disney Plus and the Disney Channel on January 11, 2025. By Jackson N., KIDS FIRST!

Because of its humor, designs and smart story: A scientist tricked teenagers to help her fix her inventions. I think this is now my favorite Disney Channel show of the year! My favorite is Chip and Mr. Okay. Wonderful characters and episodes they were!! Someday it should be the most popular show in Disney! I love Ryan's art style and the surreal moments like gross ups or creepy moments. Please watch that show for your kids under 10 even though I saw the Common Sense Media. Because it's a survival show for older kids to learn and might be inapproprate for them. Make sure they are old enough, OK?

The show has a good art style, catchy music, interesting characters and clever plots in the episodes, however, it doesn't really capture the same charm as other Disney cartoons. There are hardly any Disney references and the show feels out of place compared to other cartoons, such as: Big City Greens, Bluey, Hamster and Gretel, Kiff, Primos, and more. None of the characters even appear in Chibiverse or any of Disney Channel's interstitials in a way to properly acknowledge the show. Not only that, the humor and tone is a bit intense and surreal, as it can have an effect on younger viewers. Also, there are scenes where one of the characters gets hurt or does something inappropriate, which can look unsafe. Otherwise, the rest of the series is alright, but could some more development in the setting and the humor should appeal more to younger viewers than adults.

I think this is a really really good Disney shadow show. I saw the premiere and I haven't missed a episode yet on the Disney Channel Disney Channel really did a good job on this. I like the art style and story it's so clever Disney Channel the best so far it's my favorite show the Disney Channel I think we should watch the Disney Channel more. More to se wonderful creations like this keep up the good work Disney Channel I really enjoyed the premiere and I would like to think the person that has created show. And the writers of the show.
