This show is like watching a car crash-it's so bad that you can't look away. The property owners hire two irritating and clueless Americans who have no understanding of how renovations work in Europe (they don't even possess a license), especially with older homes. The house in Tuscany they are renovating is 200-300 years old. They fail to realize that tearing down structural walls is not only against regulations but could also cause the house to collapse. Watching this was incredibly frustrating, and even giving it one star feels overly generous. I do not recommend watching it, it is really just sad.
I really enjoy Fixer to Fabulous but my least favorite part are always the "dramatic events" that are heavily produced and added in to attempt to hold viewers I guess? The good parts are when they're talking about design plans and the parts with the reveal.
This show is just 5 episodes of the "drama" and boring building bits then occasionally there are some interesting bits sprinkled in. They really should have done one room per episode or something because not having a reveal at the end of each episode makes them boring and repetitive and stretched out. Hopefully the reveal episode doesn't disappoint.
Also the emphasis on the "Italian way" vs the "American way" is getting old and repetitive.

I don't understand the editing of this show, it makes Dave and Jenny seem like they have no idea what they're doing. They definitely hammered home that things are slower and permits were an issue but you did not have to say 150 times that you're stressed, the timeline is off, and nothing has been done. Wanted more of the Tuscan views, learning about the culture, and seeing more of the design and materials decision processes. Honestly was stressed watching every single episode and got bored with the repetitive voiceovers. I don't understand why this review needs 500+ characters so this is a fluff sentence at the end.
This was so stupid on so many levels. One star is too much.
Was hoping to catch some great Italain scenery, but not much of that either.
These two should stay in the US and not ruin any more Italian villas. I don't think the owners would have put up with them if not being reimbursed somehow by the show. I was happy when they said enough, we are over budget! The furniture they made for them was so blah.
The lack of skill level and understanding of this project and architecture was just irksome. I am so grossed out they used wood from a animal trough to make a bathroom counter . Having to climb an old ladder to use the wine window was the most asinine of all.
The Italians were so nice but you could see it on their faces, they thought Jennie and her husband were .....

The regular show is funny because it's so bad. This takes it to a new level. Jenny is disappointed you cant demo like crazy on an old Tuscan Villa. Permits? Plans? Who needs those. As per usual Jenny worries, Jenny is concerned and Jenny stresses and shrieks . Unfortunately this show highlights how unnecessary Dave and Jenny really are. The fake drama and the distance really dont bode well this scenario. But like a train wreck, I'll still watch it to see hopefully some great Italian scenery. If you like the regular show you will probably like this, soooooo much missed potential. Have fun watching.
