Riding the coattails of the old librarians show this is obviously an entirely new show based on the premise of magic existing and a new team trying to stop it from running amok.
Story wise there's already a few interesting ideas and cool concepts explored. It's a new magic thing happening each episodes that our heroes need to stop. Cursed trains stuck in a time loop and evil witches etc.
New cast needs some time to grow but the chemistry is already there, the actors are all fine, especially Jessica Green who is my favorite.
Obviously not the highest of budget shows but the effects look decent, for instance the monster in ep. 1 is a decent costume.
The effects aren't too scary or anything even though people do get injured and even killed sometimes.
Giving it 10 stars because I really enjoy magical shows that aren't gloomy or too serious, just some fun and excitement.

I've always felt that Slavic mythology and folklore are criminally underrepresented in modern television, which is why this show instantly caught my attention. Right from the very first episode, we're introduced to an interesting Serbian/Slavic legend.
And such an interesting choice of the place to film! Belgrade, filled with beautiful sceneries and historical landscapes, is such a refreshment in the sea of shows with huge skyscrapers and the sterile corporate backdrops.
Happy to see someone is finally tapping into the vast cultural heritage the old Slavs left behind across Europe. There's a lot of stories, symbols, and forgotten lore waiting to be brought to life, and this show seems ready to explore it.
Also, I like how they stayed true to themselves in the terms of filming style, without too much use of CGI. It's giving 00s and 2014 vibes again and I'm all in!

First off the new lead is perfect as the main Librarian, I for once am glad the original actor was replaced (not saying anything negative about Flynn or Noah, just that the new guy is the perfect casting).
Noah has been the main Librarian since the first Librarian Movie in 2004 ;but the series needed a new head Librarian.
Second it seems like they upgraded Eve Baird (another character I'm glad is gone) from a 5 to a solid 8 or maybe even a 9 ;but Eve Baird was more convincing as a woman that could beat people up/kick butt than the new actress IMO.
I'm also glad the new guardian Charlie gets a baton, it helps sell it a little bit.
The Cassandra replacement is a downgrade IMO, that's an overall downgrade character wise (it's like we got K-Mart Cassandra that was in the bargain) ;but at least she doesn't drone on about or seek constant pity about a brain tumor at every possible opportunity.
Ezekiel's replacement is another downgrade IMO, he has no real skill set to offer to the library other than studying history and running a conspiracy website ;but there's no skills that actually make him an asset (I wasn't a huge fan of Ezekiel as a character ;but he was at least skilled enough to offer actual help that no one else could).
Jacob Stone returns in the new series and imo was the worst character in the original show as the character is overconfident while being insecure at the same time, he also holds every one else to a higher standard than he sets for himself (meaning it's ok for him to do something ;but if someone else does it he calls them out or snaps on them).
I also think he was miscast as the actor is not a convincing fit for the role of a tough guy, Jacob should have been played by a more muscular actor with real definition.

I personally loved the New Librarians. After being a fan of all of the movies and series. This one is new and new people, new adventures, lore and fantasy. I dint care about generic CGI. It's a series and need to make a passable show is a must. Plus 1st episode is introductory at best. For everyone.i loved it, thought it was great and will be watching it hopefully for years to come. I was excited to see Stone back and leader position . I'm sure all characters will continue to develop and bond and writers will also figure out the dynamics. I'm sure a lot are new . Like I said for a new show ...it was great.
The story is a bit all over the place. While it was some years ago, I have fond memories of the original series and I was hoping for the same level of quality. The way the characters were introduced or more importantly - NOT introduced leaves gaps in information and instead of enjoying the story unfold, I am left wondering how and why.
In one episode there was a scene where ballet slippers had char on them from being burned, in the next scene no char, then char again when they were being examined in the scene following.
I don't mind corny when it is done well and sadly, this falls a little short in my opinion.
I'm going to keep watching in the hopes that it will improve and we get some of the holes in the story filled in.

- TriviaCW entertainment president Brad Schwartz told TVLine that they were "100%" trying to get at least one original Librarians cast member to at least put in a cameo and pass the proverbial baton -- and they ended up securing Christian Kane, who will reprise his role as Jacob Stone in a guest-starring capacity.
