Blades of Fire Review: Steel and Strategy
Image
MercurySteam’s Blades of Fire throws players into a world where every swing of steel carries consequences. You take on the role of Aran De Lira, a solitary blacksmith whose quiet life among the pines is shattered by a friend’s brutal murder at the hands of a despotic queen. From that moment, you’re tasked with unraveling her curse that turns living steel to stone, using nothing but a magical forging hammer and sheer determination.

This action title draws heavily from the Soulslike tradition—labyrinthine map layouts, punishing checkpoints, respawning foes—yet it carves out its own identity through a weapon degradation system that nudges you away from comfortable playstyles. There’s no experience-point progression here; instead, you harvest materials from fallen enemies and forge new weapons on the spot.

That mechanic feels equally inspired by Atelier’s crafting puzzles and the tactical demands of Metroid Dread. Enemy encounters...

My Hero Academia: Uraraka's Quirk Awakening Puts Her On Shigaraki's Level
Image
Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia Chapter #393My Hero Academia has just seen Ochaco Uraraka undergo her own Quirk Awakening, and the nature of the upgrade is suspiciously similar to Shigaraki's. Quirk Awakening is a feat that very few characters have managed over the course of the series, and most of those have been by bad guys, so to see Uraraka achieve it is quite impressive.

In chapter 393, as Uraraka attempts to handle the influx of Toga/Twice clones, they begin to float away from her as she touches them. However, it doesn't stop there; those floated by Uraraka's Quirk begin to bump into others, causing them to float as well. Soon, as they careen around weightlessly, nearly every clone has been rendered helpless, hovering in the air with no way to return to Earth. It's the perfect ability for a hero like Uraraka, as she can incapacitate large...

Mick Mars: “I’m Probably Just Going to Live Another Seven or Eight Years”
Image
Former Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars, who recently turned 72, believes he’s “probably just going to live another seven or eight years.” That’s just one of the topics the veteran rocker opened up about in a wide-ranging new interview with Rolling Stone, also touching on his legal battle with the Crüe, his upcoming solo album, and more.

Mars recently sold his publishing rights, securing his financial freedom for the rest of his life. In revealing that news, he also put a cap on his lifespan. “I sold my publishing,” he said. “The deal was just finalized. Now I can relax and don’t have to worry about anything, since, like I said, I’m probably just going to live another seven or eight years.”

For most of his adult life, Mars has suffered from the degenerative bone disease ankylosing spondylitis, causing his body to disfigure. “I’m not going...

Decay focuses on a middle-aged grounds keeper at a local theme park (played by Rob Zabrecky) that suffers from a debilitating case of Ocd. One day, his daily routine is disrupted by a surprise visitor in his basement: a beautiful young woman who, through a jarring turn of events, ends up dead. Jonathan panics and chooses not to report the dead girl. Instead, he invites her to dinner. Jonathan is happy to have a friend, until the police start closing in, and his mind, and the body of the girl, begins to decay.

Opening with a quote taken from a thousand internet memes is an odd way to start a horror movie. But then Decay is odd all over – odd characters, odd situations and an oddly beautiful appearance. And oddly,...
