Good enough story with average screenplay & visuals

Well, personally I like Sonu Sood. He is a great actor. Even in this movie, his point of acting was really strong.

Anyway, the story was good enough to produce a good movie; however, it took a nosedive just because of the average screenplay direction. For instance, when Fateh was getting details on Nimrit's disappearance, that point could have been more detailed & made the story more intense.

Secondly, a villain is the heart of Indian films. That should have been introduced in a more intensive & thrilling way.

Yet, in some points, some dialogue deliveries were mind-blowing.

Last but not least, after watching the ending point, I am assuming that there will be a part 2 of this movie, although it hasn't been announced. If there is a sequel, I hope they will learn from their mistakes & make the next part with full attention to details.

Genuine Action & Smart Story!

Tone, Script & Story: The story is about a guy who once worked for intelligence and now is retired and settled in Punjab. The main guy goes looking for a girl and in turn fight against one of the said cyber-crime organization.

During promotion Sonu said its story of every Indian. I was worried if it does not turn out well. To be frank I expected more. But no worries whatever is served is not bad.

What I liked most is the action. It's not like those movies in south. What I further liked is script it appears genuine.

Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: The village, the city, the surveillance, the cyber rooms, the characters, etc all have been captured well. Sonu, Kudos! U did well.

Music is good and goes well with the movie. Acting if considered Sonu appears slightly dim while acting as village person, but kills once action kicks in. Jacqueline is beautiful & acts nice. I think she lags in Hindi.

Final Verdict: Sonu has done a lot for people in need. He would feel good if movie does well. If you love the reason mentioned above you will love the movie. Others please support for his kindness.

Slick actioner that lacks some good writing

FATEH is a film that takes a fairly good idea, but dumb it down due to simplistic execution. Thankfully, the film isn't selling itself on the strength of its story, as the focus is clearly on its brutal R-rated action. It's a good thing that the action delivers, although it too suffers from some minor issues like excessive use of shaky cam, firing limitless amount of bullets from a single gun, villains conveniently not having guns or not choosing to shoot from long distance when hero is unarmed etc. For a first timer director, Sonu Sood does an admiring job, and he excels physically too in the lead role as the mysterious assassin. While watching this film, I got reminded of BEEKEEPER. The best thing that I liked about this film is that right from the beginning, there were no dull moments, and even though the film turned farfetched in many parts, it remained engaging throughout.

If the story was given a little more care, this could have turned into something really great. Alas! It wasn't meant to be.

A big shoutout to Vijay Raaz, the man totally chewed the scenery whenever he was on the screen. Although I was very disappointed by Naseer Sahab; not sure what went wrong, but he wasn't even a tiny bit menacing as the main antagonist. Jacqueline is meh (as always), and the decision to make his relationship with Fateh as a romantic one was clearly a mistake.

Overall, FATEH is a decent film that works due to its admirable idea and good action, although it would have worked even better had the screenplay been not so basic and improbable, and the core idea not so oversimplified.

Entertaining Action movie

Fateh is a decent action-packed movie that you rarely find in Bollywood these days. Fateh is not that good, but it is good compared to other action films with big names from the industry. I was so happy after hearing about this film. Finally, Sonu Sood is doing a film as a lead. He has been working in the industry for more than 20 years. With his charming personality and attractive features, he would have been a hero in mainstream movies. But he failed to grab lead roles because he was not from a family with a cinema background. Besides, he has six-packs, good height, a manly/masculine voice, fashion sense and decent acting, which was a constant threat for many of the nepo kids. As a result, he faced dirty politics in the industry and kept getting supporting roles. I believe Sonu will act in films like Fateh more in the upcoming days, at least two movies per year. Best of luck to him.

A Gripping Action Thriller with a Strong Message

Fateh is an action thriller film that marks the directorial debut of Sonu Sood, who also stars in the lead role. The cast includes notable actors like Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz, Naseeruddin Shah, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. The story follows a former secret agent who, after leaving a covert agency that operates without any identification or records, settles into a quiet life running a dairy farm in a village. However, he soon finds himself drawn back into the dangerous world of cybercrime, where he takes on a powerful cyber mafia. The film features intense action sequences, including a breathtaking opening fight and a gripping climax, all set against a backdrop of real locations. With a compelling narrative that highlights the issues of online fraud and cybercrime, the film delivers a strong message without any romantic or comedic elements. I particularly enjoyed the character of Fateh, portrayed by Sonu Sood, who exhibits OCD, adding depth to his persona. The fight scenes are expertly choreographed, making it one of the standout action thrillers in Indian cinema. The movie carries vibes reminiscent of both John Wick and James Bond. Overall, Fateh is a must-watch, showcasing Sonu Sood's impressive directorial skills. While I believe he should continue to create more films like this, a sequel may not be necessary.

Seriously silly Plot and too much exaggeratted action.

The movie portrays Fateh as some Giga-chad killing machine who can go on winning all fights and kill n number of people without losing a sweat. And he never speaks normally. All his dialogues have to sarcastic and witty, but alas, all of them miss their mark and end up being cheesy, corny and poorly written. The female leads had nothing special and deserve no mention. The villains were also comical, no extra was put in to them from any random Bollywood villains.

Even the story, which I thought had a good start, turned into a joke. Am I supposed to believe that after 52 crores bank accounts being emptied, the villains were so damn easy to locate? And yet the only person running after them was our dear Fateh? Does law and enforcement just not exist in whatever version of India this movie takes place?

All in all, this movie was a pure waste of time and I regret watching it.

True Action movie!

Excellent! Just one word is enough to explain it all. No unnecessary romance, dance and song. That's how an action film should be!

I haven't found any lacking in anything. The story was unique. Complete action packed movie. Good screenplay, good story. Dialogues were also great.

Action scenes were great, didn't find much mistakes. Really enjoyed the movie as I've been expecting such a movie from Bollywood for a long time. A great career turn for Sonu Sood.

Overall the movie met my expectations.

I'm satisfied with the story, screenplay, acting, story telling and overall direction.

Sonu nailed it!

Fateh.

With the " BULLS" of Bombay Stock Exchange in I. C. U decided to chase away my sorrows by seeing the movie " FATEH" on the first day show at Rs 100 at Plaza Talkies in Dadar .After ages saw a orgy of indescribable choreographed violence on the screen and hence the " A" tag for the movie. A documentary style James Bond film on Cyber Crime in India that is authentically scary than the violence depicted in this film. Sonu Sood plays the role of a " R. A. W" James. Bond agent very well as it suits his physique and style. A very relevant film minus the extreme number of dead bodies shown throuout the film as " CYBERCRIME" is a fact of daily living in India .Vijay. Raaz and Naseeruddin Shah as villains do justice to the films storyline .As for heroine Jacqueline .Fernandes she adds to the suspense until the very last. I am sure akin to the " James Bond Franchisee" there could be " Fateh -2" in the planning as the film ends on a abrupt note keeping the audience guessing.

Courageous but failed attempt

Jacqueline Fernandez and Sonu Sood's latest collaboration is an unfortunate misstep, plagued by weak performances and poor direction. At its core, the film attempts to weave a story of love, redemption, and sacrifice. However, the lack of chemistry between the leads and an unconvincing execution prevents the story from resonating.

Jacqueline plays a woman caught between her tragic past and an uncertain future, but her performance does little to bring this emotional journey to life. Her portrayal feels flat, with minimal effort to convey the depth of her character's struggles. This isn't surprising, as Jacqueline's acting has consistently been limited, lacking the ability to immerse audiences in her roles. This film is no exception-her inability to evoke genuine emotion weakens pivotal scenes.

Sonu Sood, who also directs, plays a heroic figure determined to help her overcome her challenges. His character has moments that could have been compelling, but his performance is overly theatrical at times and devoid of nuance. As a director, his inexperience is evident. The film suffers from uneven pacing, clunky transitions, and poorly choreographed action sequences that feel more like filler than meaningful additions to the plot.

The story, which had the potential to explore themes of healing and hope, ends up feeling superficial. The screenplay fails to dig deep into the characters' motivations or relationships, leaving the audience disconnected from their journey. The climax, meant to be emotional and uplifting, feels rushed and hollow due to the lack of buildup.

In the end, this film highlights Jacqueline's consistent shortcomings as an actor and Sonu's growing pains as a director. Both need to reconsider their approach to projects like this. Stronger storytelling, better character development, and more authentic performances could have saved this film from being so forgettable. Overall, this film fails to leave a lasting impression, weighed down by Jacqueline Fernandez's lackluster acting and Sonu Sood's uneven direction. While it might hold some appeal for Bollywood audiences accustomed to melodramatic storytelling, even within that context, it falls short of delivering anything memorable. On an international level, the film barely scrapes by with a 3/10, reflecting its weak performances, clichéd plot, and amateur execution. For Bollywood standards, it might merit a slightly more generous 5/10, as it aligns with some of the industry's formulaic offerings. However, it ultimately lacks the substance and finesse to stand out in either context.

Very watchable hindi action movie after long

Amongst the super hyped, so called superstar movies of bollywood and south, full of utter nonsense from start to end, this one comes as breath of fresh air. Sonu Sood has done something as director and actor with this movie which none has been able to do in recent past - creating a john-wickish but original movie which is away from typical Indian action movies (as if hollywwod was not sufficient enough, now south is also hyped into this league of rubbish content pan India). Probably for the first time in last 1 decade or so, this is a movie which you can watch without having to suffer thru mind-numbing mediocracy or feel like fast forwarding scene after scene.

Caution - if u r fan of pushpa 2, jawan, kgf, 2042 or something, this-that kind of movies, then u will most likely find this one kind of boring.. u will probably ask what is special about it? U will not feel like whisling. Nothing special probably from "cinema" perspective but a genuine, crisp, original (with some fight sequences inspired may be from kill bill and so) action movie made in Indian language, which is very very rare case.

Dialogues in most parts and script are tight. Story could have been improved avoiding few lapses here and there, the movie had the potential to be in Indian Bourne league.

Showcases great potential of Sonu Sood as director and will wait for a more polished next project of his.

Great Action, story but not the climax.

A great action and playing with the fully skilled, a great young man giving his body to save millions scammed, but the things I didn't get enough great to see is showing unfortunate killing what actually gives a wrong ❌example to the young people for playing smart. On the other hand at last there isn't any climax that may give a review what actually u did that really benefitted the one's I played for. Hope this may not contain any wrong includings that may harm or hurt anyone's sentiments. It should there a climax the people u actually fight for received what they lost before. Hope for the best 👍💯

A Promising Start That Fizzles Out Into Mindless Action

I went in with decent expectations, especially considering its premise. The idea of fake loan apps and digital scams is very relevant today, and I thought it could lead to an engaging and thought-provoking story. The first half seemed promising-action was well-paced, and the storyline had a good setup, and I was genuinely invested in seeing where it would go.

But then the second half completely lost me. The film quickly devolves into nothing more than a series of mindless gunfights, to the point where it felt like I was watching someone play a third-person shooter video game. It was eventually clear that the filmmakers were heavily inspired by the action sequences in Animal, but unlike that film, Fateh failed to make those scenes anything more than repetitive and tiring.

The forced attempts at comedy during action scenes didn't land at all. In fact, they felt out of place and just awkward. As for the performances, Jacqueline Fernandez struggled to even deliver her lines correctly, with half of them sounding as mumbles. On the other hand, Naseeruddin Shah, was sadly underutilized and didn't get much to work with. Vijay Raaz, too, was just doing the same old stuff we've seen from him in previous films-no new ground broken here.

Overall, Fateh starts off with a solid premise and some decent buildup, but it completely fizzles out in the second half. The action and forced humor couldn't save it. If you're looking for something fresh or even just well-executed, this one's pretty much avoidable.

Indian version of John Wick! Worth a Watch!

Fateh proves a good action movie doesn't need a superstar to make a good action film. Anyways the Bollywood superstars have been dishing out some real crap off late. So if you like a good action film which is intense, thrilling and power packed, this one comes together quite nicely. Not too many indian films capture raw action well and this one hits the ball out of the park.

Sonu Sood is effortless in this highly physical film and he makes the action believable. Naseerudin, Vijay Raaz, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Prakash Belavady all do well in their roles. Jacqueline on the other hand has proved time and again she is a below average actor and Naseerudin's female side kick was a complete misfit. Shivjyoti Rajput as Nimrat does justice to her role.

Hope Sonu Sood the actor turned Director finds more success in his ventures. Besides being an entertainer he also comes across as a good human being. Hope to see Fateh 2!

Sonu Sood's Steller Act Overshadowed By Weak Execution !!!

Fateh, starring Sonu Sood in the lead role, takes viewers on a journey through the world of cybercrime, blending action, drama, and a sprinkle of social awareness. Directed by Sood himself, the film is an ambitious debut that touches on critical issues but slightly struggles to leave a lasting impression.

The story begins with Fateh (Sonu Sood), an ex-special ops officer turned peaceful village supervisor in Punjab, who is thrust back into action when a young girl from his village becomes a victim of a malicious cybercrime syndicate. Teaming up with Khushi Sharma (Jacqueline Fernandez), an ethical hacker, Fateh seeks to expose the criminals and deliver justice. The plot aims to shed light on the dangers of cybercrime while offering audiences a classic masala entertainer.

Sonu Sood fits well into the role of Fateh. Whether portraying a fierce special ops officer or a humble man living in a village, he brings sincerity to the character. His action sequences are compelling, and the emotional undertones of his performance highlight the character's genuine motivations.

Jacqueline Fernandez, as Khushi, gives her all but remains somewhat underwhelming due to a lacklustre character arc. While she looks good opposite Sood, her role as an ethical hacker could have been more robust and less reliant on the "beauty with brains" trope.

A special mention goes to Vijay Raaz, who portrays the antagonist Satya Prakash with his usual flair. While the character occasionally feels one-dimensional, it's refreshing to see Raaz step into a darker role, offering a performance that is both new and entertaining compared to his usual positive or comedic portrayals.

As a directorial debut, Sonu Sood's effort is commendable. The film's intent to spread awareness about cybersecurity is evident and appreciated. The direction is solid, though not groundbreaking, and the story has its heart in the right place. The cinematography captures the rural charm of Punjab well, but the VFX-heavy fight scenes could have been subtler and less distracting.

While Fateh deserves credit for its noble intentions and engaging lead performance, it ultimately falls into the trap of being just another formulaic action film. The somewhat uneven pacing, random inconsistencies, and underdeveloped characters keep it from reaching its full potential. The 'one-man army' approach felt unnecessary, as showing Fateh getting some backup would have made it more realistic -- but no, he must do it all alone.

For fans of Sonu Sood or those looking for a light masala entertainer with a socially relevant theme, Fateh might be worth a watch. However, it's not a film that will linger in your mind long after the credits roll.

Missed Highs and Emotional Impact, Action Falls Short

Sonu Sood has done a commendable job as both an actor and director. His presence on screen is strong, and the film's editing features some creative transitions that add a refreshing touch. The songs are beautifully placed and perfectly complement the narrative.

However, the action scenes fell short of expectations, feeling quite generic and failing to connect with the story's emotional depth. The movie struggles to deliver on the emotional aspect overall, starting and ending slowly without offering any memorable high points for a couple-oriented genre.

The background music during action scenes was underwhelming, lacking the impact needed to elevate those moments. While there are flashes of brilliance, the film could have done more to balance its emotional and action elements for a stronger impact.

Remake of Equalizer

This movie serves as an intriguing Indian adaptation of The Equalizer, with an added layer of cultural depth that brings a fresh perspective to the original concept. The story is engaging and has been written thoughtfully, blending elements of action, drama, and subtle emotional undertones.

Sonu Sood, stepping into the shoes of a lone vigilante, delivers a commendable performance. He perfectly captures the essence of a one-man army-a hero who stands tall against injustice. His portrayal is convincing, intense, and, at times, heartfelt. He brings his own charm and gravitas to the character, making it relatable to Indian audiences while maintaining the spirit of the original inspiration.

However, I found myself wishing for a slightly faster-paced storyline. While the narrative is well-crafted, it could have benefitted from a tighter screenplay, especially in the first half. A bit more adrenaline-pumping action sequences, similar to those seen in the Equalizer series, would have elevated the experience. Given that the protagonist is set up as a larger-than-life action hero, the audience naturally expects high-octane action scenes, and while there are moments that deliver, they are somewhat sparse.

The supporting cast does a decent job, but the focus firmly remains on Sonu Sood, and rightly so. The direction ensures the film's tone remains consistent, with a mix of suspense and grit, but a few scenes felt predictable. Despite this, the film keeps you hooked with its emotional core and moral dilemmas, something Indian cinema often excels at.

One of the standout aspects is how the movie manages to weave in an Indian cultural essence, making it more than just a direct remake. The themes of community, family, and justice are deeply rooted in the Indian context, giving the film a distinct identity. This adaptation respects the source material while making it relevant to a new audience.

The cinematography and background score deserve a special mention. They enhance the tension and atmosphere, adding weight to the protagonist's journey. The action choreography, while effective, could have been a bit more stylized to leave a lasting impact.

The ending leaves room for a sequel, and I, for one, am eagerly anticipating the next chapter. With three installments in the Equalizer franchise, this Indian remake certainly has the potential to explore more. If a sequel is on the cards, I hope the makers will bring in more gripping action sequences and a slightly faster narrative pace to satisfy the audience's expectations.

In conclusion, this film is a solid attempt at reimagining The Equalizer with an Indian twist. Sonu Sood shines in his role, and while there's room for improvement, it's an enjoyable watch for fans of action dramas. With the promise of a sequel, this could very well turn into a memorable franchise in Indian cinema.

A Full-On Desi Action-Packed Emotional Ride from Sonu Sood

Fateh is not just a film, it feels like Sonu Sood has poured his heart and soul into it. Making his directorial debut, Sonu delivers a total paisa vasool experience, packed with emotion, action, and a strong dose of patriotism. From the first scene itself, he grabs your attention not just with his massive, muscular, hot body and chiselled six-pack, but with the fire in his eyes and his powerful screen presence.

As the lead, Sonu is outstanding. Whether it's the intense fight scenes, the emotional dialogues, or the silent moments of pain and sacrifice, he does it all with full sincerity. The action sequences are top-class, raw, real, and very stylish. You can clearly see the effort he's put in, both as an actor and as a director. The patriotic angle in the film hits hard. The background score, the visuals, and the emotions connect straight to the heart!

What's clear is that Sonu Sood deserves more lead roles. He's a total package-looks, talent, and heart. It would be amazing to see him as a lead in Malayalam or Bengali cinema too! He can definitely bring something new and powerful to regional films. With Fateh, Sonu has proved he's not only a fantastic actor but also a strong director. He truly deserves National Awards in both categories for Fateh. Hats off to him for making such an impactful film. We hope this is just the beginning of many more blockbusters from him.

Complete Action Movie

It's complete action movie, no unnecessary songs & romantic scenes. Thanks to Director Sonu.

But action scenes are shadows of John Wick. Otherwise it's a good to watch movie.

Still dialogue throwing of Jacqueline is very poor. She has been in Bollywood for long time, by this time she must know Hindi Language pronunciation.

Instead of Jacqueline there could be other actress who is better.

Vizay's performance is good in negative role. I am surprised.

Nasiruddin Shah's screen time could be more. He is a great actor in Hindi Cinemas. Actually I showed interest when I saw my favourite Nasiruddin Shah Ji is in this movie.

Anyway, Good Luck Sonu Sood.

AVG Film

Fateh, directed by Sonu Sood, is an ambitious action-thriller that delves into the dark world of cybercrime, making it the first Indian film to explore the dangers of fake loan apps. However, while the film's intentions are noble, its execution falls short of leaving a lasting impression. Fateh is a sincere effort from Sonu Sood that highlights a relevant social issue while delivering action-packed entertainment. While it doesn't break new ground in the genre, it remains a decent watch for action enthusiasts and fans of Sonu Sood. With tighter scripting and more nuanced character development, it could have been a much stronger cinematic experience.

The storytelling suffers from uneven pacing and underdeveloped characters, preventing it from reaching its full potential. Despite these flaws, Sonu Sood, both as director and lead actor, gives a commendable performance. His action sequences are intense and engaging. Jacqueline Fernandez given a decent performance. Vijay Raaz steps into a different character space and performs admirably. Naseeruddin Shah in minimal screen time delivers a good performance. Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Shiv Jyoti Rajput, Soundous Moufakir, and others were fine in their roles.

The screenplay, penned by Sonu Sood and Ankur Pajni, is fast-paced and engaging, though it falters with some ordinary dialogues. The action sequences, on the other hand, are well-executed, supported by an effective background score that heightens the tension. Unfortunately, the songs fails to leave a mark and does little to elevate the film's mood. Clocking in at 140 minutes, Fateh manages to avoid monotony but also doesn't offer any truly memorable moments.

Action pack

"Fateh" is an action-packed thrill ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Sonu Sood shines in his role, delivering convincing action sequences that showcase his physicality. The story is engaging, with a coherent narrative that propels the film forward. However, Naseeruddin Shah's performance falls flat, lacking the depth and nuance expected from an actor of his caliber.

While the action scenes are undeniably thrilling, it's hard not to notice the obvious inspirations from Hollywood blockbusters like John Wick and Captain America. Despite this, the film's energy and pacing make it an enjoyable watch.

Overall, "Fateh" is a mindless action flick that's perfect for fans of the genre. With its slick fight choreography and Sonu Sood's charismatic presence, it's a fun ride that's worth checking out. Just don't expect too much in terms of originality or depth.

Sonu Sood's Fateh.

"Fateh" is a thrilling action-packed film that delivers edge-of-your-seat entertainment. Sonu Sood shines as the titular character, showcasing his impressive physicality and commanding screen presence. The film's fast-paced narrative keeps you hooked from the beginning, with well-choreographed action sequences and a suspenseful plot.

But, the downside of this film is that it generally reminds you of John Wick.

While the story may not be entirely original, it's the execution that truly stands out. The supporting cast provides strong performances, and the technical aspects of the film, from cinematography to editing, are top-notch.

"Fateh" is a must-watch for fans of action cinema and those looking for a thrilling cinematic experience.

A Generic - Wanna be Action Film

Sonu Sood's directorial debut, Fateh, is an action flick that delivers on the action front but suffers from a tiring, uninteresting, and predictable screenplay. The film incorporates many elements reminiscent of movies like Equalizer and Animal. While the action choreography stands out, the blood CGI is noticeably poor. The camerawork is good, but the editing turns out to be bad. The songs are decent, and although the background score is good, it seems to be misplaced in many scenes, failing to elevate the intended moments. The film tries hard to be a "cool" and invincible spectacle where a man goes on a killing spree, but it ends up feeling very wannabe.

Sonu Sood gives his all to the role and looks convincing in the action sequences. Jacqueline's character and subplot feel very cliché. Naseeruddin Shah is wasted, while Vijay Raaz steals the show with his stellar dialogue delivery, standing out as the most memorable part of the film. The rest of the supporting cast is just average. Hans Zimmer's "To the Moon" stands out. There comes a time in second half, when the film just becomes tiring and emotionless. Overall, the film deserved a better screenplay and pacing to support its action set pieces. Good Action, Below average film!

OVERALL - 2/5.
