As someone born and raised in the Blue Ridge, I knew I had to give this series a shot. Now I am 3 episodes in and plan to be a regular viewer. It feels like an old-school serial Western but placed in modern times, showcasing many of the genre's best attributes. The lead character, a former Green Beret turned sheriff, is an honorable and courageous man driven by a deep convictions and a desire for law and order. Despite some morally ambiguous supporting characters, the show maintains a clear sense of right and wrong. Beautiful mountain scenery from the real-life Blue Ridge provide a wonderful sense of awe and authenticity. The show suffers from some significant weaknesses, namely uncompelling fight scenes, flat dialogue, and an awkward relationship between the lead and his former love interest that feels more like a distraction than serious character development. One of my favorite parts of Westerns are the dramatic and quotable one-liners, but sadly this series has precious few. Nevertheless, I think the show has great potential, and would love to see a season 2 to rectify these shortcomings.

Since the regular tv season ended, I am always looking for new shows to watch during the off season. I saw the title of the series and thought it was worth watching and also saw that Sarah Lancaster (from "Chuck") was part of the cast and decided to watch. I have been pleasantly surprised.

The actors and characters are well chosen and make the storylines believable. The subplot of the main character trying to restart his relationship with his ex wife is filled with some humor due to his uneasiness. As a former green bret andthe sheriff has to deal with many characters that want to take justice in their own hands. Exterior pressures make the sheriff's life a little complicated but similar to a western; the sheriff always gets his man. Nice scenery helps.

Looking forward to watching. I hope that the series gets renewed.

10/10 Me and the family enjoyed this show. Loved the movie as well. It has great characters, charming settings and a country feel that we all love. Love how it shows that mistakes can be made but there are room for second chances. The cast is amazing. Loved that you actually added extra characters that were not in the movie. I would suggest watching the movie first. Where was this filmed? It was absolutely stunning scenery. RP and the other deputy could have a few episodes all their selves. Maybe the sheriff and Ellie marrying again, more children on their 2nd, 2nd turn at things. A Martinez and the feud would be more great plots. Would love a season 2!

This is dukes of hazard and unsmoked rolled into a new family masterpiece. .Cant wait for more Tom Proctor is such a good villain and anti hero. The music is top notch and love the opening drone cinematography. Please keep this company by it is what the family viewers need a show that everyone from the grandparents to the kiddos can watch together safely just like in the days of gathering around as a family to watch Gunsmoke,Bonanza,Andy Griffin,Dukes of Hazard and with one character even a hint of Gillian's Isand. So and my family will be glued to the screen every week to watch how everyone is doing and what is brewing.

The first thing I thought of when I started watching this was "not another series with an ex and a teenage daughter! " What is it with this theme. We've had Justified, Bosch, The Lincoln Lawyer, Goliath just to name a few. I only recognised one actor from the cast and he was in Longmire the rest were just unknown to me. The acting is awful and the storylines even worse just totally unbelievable! The fight scenes with the sheriff were actually laughable! The sheriff has the most annoying voice ever and is definitely miscast. I've just read they are making a second season please don't bother!!!!

If you're after an old stool howler this is for you. Poor acting, poor body doubles, terrible script. This has it all and more. I'm going to soldier on as it is genuinely hilarious. Of course unintentionally. I'm so desperate to find something decent to watch and hoped this will be like Bosch or even Tracker. But this is unique and in a league of its own

Main dude is a poor man's Billy Bob Thornton and the rest f the cast are forgettable cannon fodder. To think this was recently made is quite shocking too. The budget must be very low just looking at the intro. Maybe it was made for network tv before landing on Amazon.

This is an awesome TV show to watch with your family. Suspense drama life lessons is just a well-rounded show. I suggest everyone to go watch it. Jeremiah Wade and his boy are awesome as well. Looking forward to the last episode this Sunday can't wait to see what happens I would like to see more of the way family like it was an episode one when they were at a moonshine thing The guy standing in behind Jeremiah Wade with awesome love to see more of them guys Gary Wheeler and all of his people put this film together has done a phenomenal job falls in line with the original movie made in 2020 let's go. Very good show.

It's hard to say what's worse - the lack of originality and predictability or the truly bad dialog and acting. There's nothing new here - nothing. Even the few actors we expect more from, like Graham Greene, are given poorly defined tropes instead of characters, and disappoint. There's something charming about it, nonetheless, but it's like a mockery of a southern town, rather than a real one. The soundtrack is so jarring, it seems obvious that the showrunners wanted to promote the bands of their friends and family and somehow got away with it. Unless they step up the plot, soundtrack, dialog, fight choreography and acting going forward, this is a one season series.

This TV series brings back the majority of the main characters from the movie. Not many creators do that. Well done, Gary Wheeler. We were hooked after the very first episode. This series has drama, emotion, humor, conflict, and resolution within each episode. The actors have great chemistry, both on and off-screen. I've seen this first-hand from being a part of the background for three episodes. The entire cast and crew have great camaraderie and respect for one another. I can't wait for each episode to air and look forward to re-watching this series over and over. Thank you again, Gary, for bringing this series to life. Well Done!

I watched the movie and when I saw that a series had been created, I was all in. But as I'm watching it..there are no black people! Really??? Cmon. I'm black and I enjoy the show...the creators could be more diverse. Please add in some black actors. There are numerous and very talented black men and women that this show could include. Having a black mayor is okay.but cmon! Please do more. Even the lead is of color but as usual his character is white-washed as well. Maybe a story about the mayor's family? That would be interesting. Please try..I really want to champion this series. Do better ok.

8.5 by the time I finished 1.5 houts later.

It is dreadful. There wasn't a single 'actor' in the cast.

One cliche would instantly get chased of the screen by the next cliche. The fight scenes were school play level. The compulsory bumbling deputy, male of course, couldn't even find a hat that fitted. The 'bright young thing', female of course, was not actually very bright. The cafe owner love interest to the 'protect and serve' former green beret.

The dialogue! Oh! Dear! Seriously, seriously bad! I like westerns but this is an insult to them and perhaps most disgraceful of all: they gave the 'hero' a Clint Eastwood cowboy hat - not by accident, I'm sure - but so misplaced it's laughable. The hopes I had at 9.2 went down the toilet faster than a too spicy chicken vindaloo!

If you watch this rubbish, after reading my review, you only have yoursef to blame!

I wanted to like this series, Appalachian mountain scenery, Sheriff, but it felt too ultra low budget and stereotypical like a Hallmark Show or Movie. I hope more like this gets made and returns to mainstream without the agendas, Just entertainment. I miss the 70s and 80s before Hollywd destroyed itself. This show seems plex created and that is where I first noticed it. The first scene of episode 1 with the trafficking, the brute of a male was bit too far right for me, but I would like to see shows and movies with good messages, no sex, not religious, not corny, but good writing that makes it good for everyone to watch.

As someone who grew up in that part of the world I've become accustomed to tv shows whose producers and writers never stepped one foot into the world of Appalachia or Blueridge Mountain communities. However this show is so FEC#%ing stupid one show is all we could stomach. The premise, characters, and situations were just off base. I much prefer British crime dramas compared to Hollywood. At least the BBC sets up its characters and tries to make them relatable. The crazy thing is you're wishing for cliche by the first 5 minutes of this poor attempt at television. Watch it if you want, but I didn't care for it at all.
