Sarah Silverman kills, in this stand-up special, on HBO!
It's definitely NOT for everyone. It's for the grown-ups in the room. If you're easily offended / triggered / upset, yada, yada, yada, DON"T watch this. If you're a long time fan, you won't be disappointed by this, her latest in her "struggle".
She does some very thought provoking comedy, in front of a live, Boston audience. The audience is positively responsive from start to finish.
As I mentioned earlier, Sarah Silverman is NOT for everyone; her brand of comedy crosses so many lines, that in today's day and age, it's a breath of fresh air for a comic to be truly themselves and not feel threatened by big "CC", Cancel Culture.
Sarah pokes her finger straight into the eye of CC and doesn't look back. Enjoy!

After decades of performing stand-up comedy, Sarah Silverman's comedic timing is awesome. She is so intelligent, and this intelligence comes through in the way she crafts and presents her humor.
Yes, it is a presentation for adults and some of her humor and/or language may offend you, but that humor is thought provoking besides being very funny.
I admire her originality and the way she uses the English language. When she said that the title of her memoir will be "My Struggle" and that she can just see the surprised faces of some of the buyers when it is translated into German, she made me laugh out loud.
Rarely, have I enjoyed an hour of stand-up comedy so much. I look forward to seeing her next special.
This special is titled, "Someone you love." Yes, I do.

It had been a while since I made contact with any of Sarah's contents, but I was aware that she became much more political in the recent years while doing her podcast. I was kinda expecting that she would try and emphasize political points in this special... BUT NO, NOT AT ALL! Sarah delivers flawlessly joke after joke in the most inventive, unexpected and refreshingly childish ways; her essence hasn't changed a bit, It's only gotten better... Things are just a little bit different (but in a very good way): Her entire experience and maturity is displayed at all times. I did, in fact, laugh out loud with 80% of the jokes. Her body language has become one of her sharpest and funniest assets. I genuinely felt proud of her for assembling such course of ideas onto this special. I definitely say go for it. Great job, Sarah and her team!
Back in the day, Sarah had this incredible ability to catch us off guard with her sharp wit. She would have us in stitches, never knowing what hilarious remark she would come up with next. But now, it's like she's lost her comedic mojo and is stuck on autopilot. It's like watching a rerun of a tired sitcom you've seen a million times before.
You know the jokes before she does... "But there are Nazis", "All Jewish mothers are proud", "I have a gay friend and we might've scissored but not really, or did we, no we didn't". It's just tired and gross, but not gross enough to move into the really offensive (Where comedic gold is mined), it was safe. No effort to push any boundaries, just completely safe and predictable.
Some comedians are funny only in reaction to others, I could imagine her on 8 out 10 cats does countdown, or raising money for leukaemia patients, perhaps if she performed her set for the west-borough baptist's she could eek out a chuckle.

I can tell you that back in the day, when I'd see her around, she was one of my favorites. I was a kid then though. I remember being super impressed when she was on Star Trek Voyager. Honestly though she kind of fell of the radar for me since the 90s. I didn't even realize she was still around until she hosted the Daily Show. I made it a point to watch all the ones she did and they were great. Took me a little while to get to this, but it was entertaining. She's still pretty good. Not as many laugh out loud moments as I recall from back in the day, nothing so groundbreaking, but the jokes all land and her stage persona is still really likeable. I'd give this a watch if you were ever a fan. 8/10.
