Sky Force is based on an incident that happened during India's first airstrike on Pakistan in 1965 that a very few people know, atleast I didn't.
Without a doubt, everyone should watch this film. Also, it's a sincere, to the point, no nonsense film. The story is about Veer Pahariya's character while Akshay Kumar is the group captain who investigates what happened with him.
The actors are all good, Akshay as the lead is superb, Sharad Kelkar also has an important part, Veer is decent, Nimrat is crisp, Sara is a little off.
The scenes of the airstrike and the drills have been shot really well. The songs are decent, nothing dramatic.
The only part that doesn't work for me are the emotional scenes. I didn't feel much connected, especially with Sara in them.
Overall, this is a real story that is worth knowing about. In a chaos of mass entertainers that solely depend on stars and spice, this film stands on its story and is a must watch!!

Sky Force, as a movie, is well-made. However, it is devoid of new ideas and thoughts. Akshay Kumar did a couple of movies like Sky Force before. It is a super patriotic and nationalist movie by making the lead actors saviours following nationalist rhetoric, which sometimes seems too much. Almost like chewing gum.
There was a story, but a very common one that everyone can assume even before watching this film. Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya's chemistry was enjoyable. Sara Ali Khan has nothing to do in a pregnant woman's role. Same goes for Nimrat. Though I did not expect anything from the female characters, as Sky Force is a Bollywood male-hero military film. If it were a female-led film, it would promote that. The art direction, set design, costume, colour grading, and cinematography were good. Recommended only if you want to watch a rhetorical nationalist movie.

Acting was too bland. Too much melodrama for an action movie. I do understand that it's a patriotic movie but they didn't need to underline it every two minutes with a patriotic dialogue. The commentary in the background made it sound like a documentary and that too not a very good one. I generally feel that Indian filmmakers add too much drama when making a patriotic movie. I personally am more of a fan of movies like Baby or Lakshya where the emphasis is more on the action part of patriotism rather than the speaking part. CGI was good at places though. I also liked the part where they showed real people pictures on whom the movie is based.
Sky Force lands as a respectable Republic Day entertainer, with its ambitious attempt to blend patriotism, history, and drama. Directed by debutants Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, the film draws inspiration from significant events in military history, fictionalizing them to deliver an impactful cinematic experience. The narrative revolves around the Indian Air Force, spotlighting themes of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. The research into military aircraft dynamics is evident and enhances the film's credibility.
For their debut outing, Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur deserve praise for choosing an unexplored chapter of military history and presenting it with sincerity. The story has its heart in the right place. While the movie soars high in its second half, a somewhat uneven first half and occasional emotional disconnect hold it back from reaching its full potential. The second half compensates with a gripping investigation into Tabby's disappearance and its compelling buildup. The finale serves as a heartfelt tribute to real-life officers, ending the film on a powerful, patriotic note.
Akshay Kumar delivers a commendable performance, shining in both emotional moments and action sequences. He anchors the film with his experience and intensity. Veer Pahariya, making his debut, emerges as the surprise package of the movie. He delivered impressive performance. On the downside, Sara Ali Khan is underutilized. Her character lacks depth, and her chemistry with Pahariya doesn't quite spark. Nimrat Kaur provides a good supporting performance. With limited screentime, Manish Choudhary & Sharad Kelkar delivers a standout performance.
The cinematography is a visual treat, capturing air combat sequences with precision and grandeur. The aerial choreography is well-executed. The background score is effective in heightening tension, though Tanishk Bagchi's music is a mixed bag. While the song "Maaye resonates emotionally, the rest of the soundtrack fails to leave a lasting impression.
For those looking for a Republic Day watch with a blend of war history, action, and heartfelt moments, Sky Force is a decent pick that ends on a high, uplifting note. The film pays a moving homage to the bravery and sacrifices of Indian Air Force officers.

Movie starts with a good note. You will enjoy the screenplay. No distractions from the main story . Subtle song. Scenes were properly sequenced. No sugar coating done on the story to make it typical bollywood masala .
Situations present in the movie can be witnessed in history books and various edu videos which are self explained. Overall experience is very good.
Cinematography was up to the mark.. The frames are very well catchy . It was 2hrs mix bag of action emotions and thrill. Not a single dull moment in that. The film ended where it should.
I thought in my opinion they could have had shown the American inquiry over their star fighter failure. Which is indeed a great chapter in the Indian war history.
