Anna and the Dead

And almost as scary as a Brady Bunch tv episode. Totally uninspired acting from all involved and I suppose that's mostly the fault of the director and in turn the writer. Even the supposedly "spooky" appearances of the dead boy were laughable at best and certainly didn't help move the narrative along. And what's with the hair of the older boy/love interest? That must have taken a couple cases of mousse to keep it blown over his eyes that way.

And before I forget, who exactly buries a body in a tree or even thinks to climb up and look for one? All in all, a very inferior product that was extremely tough to watch till the end. I hope all involved will take this as a learning experience and get serious and work much harder if they plan on continuing a career in cinema because this one just didn't cut it.

Despite of never even having heard about this 2015 horror movie titled "Anna and the Dead", from writer and director Peter Goddard, I opted to watch it as I stumbled upon it by random chance here in 2025. Sure, I had no idea what I was in for, but it being a horror movie was more than sufficient to make me give the movie a fair chance.

Wow, talk about a dud of a storyline. Writer Peter Goddard put together a script and storyline that failed to entertain me. In fact, I dozed off and fell asleep twice within the first 40 minutes of the movie. The narrative was pointless and devoid of anything interesting. And the character gallery was equally bland and pointless.

I was not familiar wit a single actor or actress on the cast list. And that was actually something that worked in favor of the movie, as I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances were okay, but nothing great or memorable. A shame that the actors and actresses virtually had nothing to work with.

I would not recommend you to waste 103 minutes on this swing and a miss of a movie.
