I really wanted to like this. I love these old motels, takes me back to travels with my family, so I was hoping for something...more. The makeovers are uninspiring and cheap looking, and frankly, Lindsey just doesn't have good taste. I truly don't feel that the motel owners have been left with any real direction on how to revive their businesses in a meaningful way. Seems to be more about Lindsey than the motel - not interesting. It's kind of sad to watch the reveals expecting something that would make a difference to the business. I would bet that none of these owners have taken Lindsey's design ideas to their remaining rooms. Give this one a miss.
I truly did want to like this show! I'm a pretty big fan of the "____ Rescue" and renovation genres, but this was just impossible to get through for a few reasons.
Who chose this host?? She's ingenuine. She's a bit snarky, but not in a fun way. The things she says never land right. It's like she's trying to be funny but is too dry or something. Maybe the timing is off? Idk. I feel like they would've had much better luck with literally ANY other host lol.
She also is very little help to the crew. Typically you see the host get their hands a little dirty, but it truly looked like she did nothing but pose next to things for a moment.
They also did half-assed renovations on only some of the stuff. You could tell the crew was working hard, but it seems production told them they could only work on a couple important things and the rest needed to be quick cosmetic fixes. So many critical things were overlooked.

Kind of a cute show but PLEASE, has no one heard of SAFETY GLASSES??!! I cringe every time I see her cut something!
As with most Reno shows, if the owners would just tidy up a bit it would help considerably! It's a fun concept, I enjoy seeing these motor lodges revitalized as they all have their unique charm. Kudos to her if she's older than she looks but she doesn't look old enough to have as much street cred as a person in her position should have to pull this off.
She has some interesting ideas but only changing 2 rooms & using them to advertise is going to lead to a lot of unhappy customers who had to stay in the still crappy rooms.

There are some things she does that look like they work and others that are so far off that it actually makes it fun because it just seems too silly.
In some episodes she mentions a budget but in others she doesn't. Are the people paying for the work or not? If they are paying for it then I often feel sorry for them. Some of the changes are nice upgrades but others are not and some she just messes things up.
She repeatedly tries to put coffee stands or smoothie bars in small hotels that are unlikely to have enough guests to ever make it cost effective to staff it. All that time and expense for something that would require another employee or two, just doesn't make sense.
A lot of the time she leaves the TV out of the renovated rooms. It is nice in your down time in a hotel to have a TV, especially at night. It shouldn't be that difficult to fit a reasonable sized flat TV on a wall.
She likes to downsize the refrigerators in the rooms with kitchenettes to dorm size. The small fridges are pretty much useless for anything but snacks.
Finally, the worst thing about all these 'rescue' or 'impossible' shows is they fix up 1 or 2 rooms and the owners immediately put those pictures online so that people making reservations think that is what they are going to get.

I am a hospitality interior designer and could only make it through one episode. Within the episode I watched, there were balant issues that would deter visitors that were completely ignored and the design was impractical and mismatched to the motel's concept.
I could have done a much better job and feel horrible that these clients weren't actually helped.
If I were to help, I would do it more like bar rescue without the yelling. One needs to address more issues than cosmetic. Address the underlying facilities, operations, branding, in addition to the cosmetics. Maybe she does on other episodes, but the one I saw, the branding update she did do was worse than a first year graphic design major.
