Wow is all I can say to this atrocity of a movie. My sister accidentally picked up the wrong House Party from a friend so we decided to watch it for Ha-Ha's. What a mistake. This movie was HORRIBLE! The acting was terrible and the you could tell the ending before it happened. I've had my share of bad movies in the past but this one takes the top. I really don't understand how or why someone gave this project money or a chance. Now, I may not be a professional critic, but I can tell when a movie is good and when one isn't. This one by far was a bad bad movie. I am so glad that we didn't spend any money on the DVD. I just regret that my time was wasted. Don't waste your time or money on this "movie" and I hesitate when I say "movie".
Having a grown woman assaulting and grooming a barely legal boy since he was young enough to start elementary school "I've been waiting for him to grow up" isn't funny, it's pedophila. If she was a man and Chris was a girl people would be angry. Which is really sad that most people don't take assault seriously because he's a guy. Either way it's traumatizing and should NEVER ever be played for laughs. It's obvious looking at this movie the writers have no creativity, humor, or drive. This movie relies on stereotypes and tropes that have been overused and were never funny. The fat girl character ( because let's face it that's all the depth the writers gave her ) was completely useless, unfunny, and added nothing to the story. I would rate this movie a 0 if I could. How on earth could Chris actually fix a hole in his wall in less than a day? ( He couldn't ) Where did these teenagers get all the fancy DJ equipment? Most teens are broke and almost all parents would never buy that expensive of equipment, even for themselves. The main girl being in a relationship with someone she doesn't like just to make the male protagonist look better is another trope I'm sick of seeing. Why was Autumn in a relationship with Quinton if she didn't like him? How couldn't she tell Chris liked her before the end of the movie? This movie isn't even so bad it's good it's just a time waster. It was a difficult chore for me to make it to the end.
I recently watched House Party: Tonight's the Night (2013) on Tubi. The storyline follows Chris, who is about to leave for college. He decides to throw a house party before he goes as a final chance to hang out with all his friends and to finally tell his lifelong crush how he feels about her. Chris is also an aspiring rapper, so when he hears there's a local record producer in the area, he invites them too. The party gets a little out of hand, which could ruin all of his future dreams.
This film is directed by Darin Scott (Caught Up) and stars Tequan Richmond (Ray), Zac Goodspeed (Meth Head), Tristin Mays (MacGyver), Keith Powers (The Tomorrow War) and Rolonda Watts (The Stupids).
Unfortunately, there's really nothing positive I can say about this movie. Everything about this picture is pretty corny, and none of the circumstances felt well-executed. The dance-off, DJ battle, and sexting scenes were painful to watch. The rap battle featured lip-syncing of a prerecorded rap and was brutal to endure. The sexting scene made me uncomfortable. The dialogue is awkward and inauthentic, and most of the film is overacted. Even the music is bad. There's nothing to see here.
In conclusion, House Party: Tonight's the Night is a terrible attempt to relaunch the House Party series. I would score this a 2/10 and recommend skipping it.

This just didn't seem like a House Party movie. The theme has changed from some rich kids trying to have a high school party. Think American Pie. It wasn't a bad movie, it had some entertaining moments but could have been an entirely stand alone movie.
This is the white washed post High School Musical era version of House Party mixed whilst also trying to be American Pie.
Everyone is too attractive, no one seem to be from lower socio economic families unlike many characters in the original series, the dancing is overly coreographed, it sticks it's nose up to actual hip-hop and you honestly don't care what happens to the characters.
Just watch the original or Project X for a better party disaster movie

- TriviaRap duo Kid 'N Play, the stars of the first three films, make cameos in this film as big-time record producers, occupations that they began in the third film, which was their last appearance in the series before this film. Unlike the fourth Film in the series, House Party 5 takes place in the same universe as the first three, hence Kid N' Play's special appearance.
