    Better and better

A Bold Step Into 3D That Changed Everything

Pokémon X wasn't just a new generation-it was a declaration. After years of handheld sprites, limited scope, and two-dimensional exploration, X blew the doors open with a full 3D world, a region steeped in culture and beauty, and the kind of elegance that made you feel like the franchise had fully evolved alongside its fans.

Kalos - A Region of Beauty and Legacy

Set in the France-inspired Kalos Region, Pokémon X immersed players in scenic cities, romantic routes, and architecture that felt alive with history. From the glowing lights of Lumiose City to the tranquil gardens of Camphrier Town, Kalos was more than just a backdrop-it was a world begging to be explored.

The verticality, camera movement, and cinematic moments were unlike anything the series had attempted before. And it worked.

Mega Evolution - A New Era Begins

The centerpiece of X's innovation was Mega Evolution-a mechanic that added new layers of strategy, style, and power. For the first time, fan-favorite Pokémon like Charizard, Lucario, and Gengar could take on new forms mid-battle, with boosted stats and killer designs.

This wasn't just change for the sake of flash. It redefined how you built your team. And in a world where nostalgia is everything, Mega Evolution managed to give new life to old legends.

Your Starter - And That Kalos Trio

The Kalos starter trio-Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie-each had distinct personalities, but let's be honest: when Froakie evolves into Greninja, it feels like the series crowned a new icon. Fast, sleek, and versatile, Greninja wasn't just a fan-favorite-he ended up on Smash Bros. For a reason.

That said, Fennekin into Delphox and Chespin into Chesnaught had their charm. Kalos' starter trio was fresh, and for once, all three felt viable through a full run.

The Fairy-Type - Long Overdue Balance

X introduced Fairy-type Pokémon, finally giving Dragon-types the counter they desperately needed and shaking up a metagame that had grown stagnant. Sylveon, Xerneas, Florges-they brought beauty and power together in a way that added a fresh balance to battles.

    Xerneas - The Life Giver

Unlike its counterpart Yveltal (in Pokémon Y), Xerneas stood as a symbol of life, peace, and raw mythical power. Its Fairy Aura ability, regal presence, and role in the story made it one of the most awe-inspiring legendaries in the series. Capturing Xerneas wasn't just about finishing a plotline-it felt spiritual.

Quality-of-Life Upgrades EXP Share now worked for the full party Super Training made EV training more accessible Player customization (finally!) gave us the chance to style our trainers Wonder Trade created unexpected joy and global connections

All of it showed Game Freak was thinking not just about new players, but about veterans too.

Final Word - Pokémon X Brought the Series into the Modern Era

Was everything perfect? No game is. But Pokémon X hit the moment when the series needed a real leap forward-and it delivered. It respected the past while reshaping the future.

With its innovation, new mechanics, breathtaking region, and emotional beats (AZ and the Eternal Pokémon-still haunting), Pokémon X holds its place as a true turning point.

10 out of 10. Modern. Majestic. Monumental.

    my Pokémons are turning French

The first mainline Pokémon game that is 3D. How does it hold up? Surprisingly well actually i think some of the 3D models, are they still using today.

I only play Pokemon games in Nuzlocke, this is one of the more funnies game to do it, because they are a lot of pokemons and the party XP makes it easy to level up.

The Pokémon formula has basically been the same since the beginning, there has been a small things that have been added in this one, and they will probably be taking away in the next game. So what is unique to this one?

Horde encounter where you fight five pokemon's at once. It's is a nice way to level up if you have the right attack and it is easy to get a lot of Ev points.

Some of the Pokémon's have ultra forms, that are fun and look great, but sadly most of them are locked to postgame.

The game has a good amount of optional areas, that has goodies and new Pokemon to capture so for Nuzlocke purposes it is great.

And that you no longer losers TM when using them,it's such a nice thing for team building.

In my opinion, it's just one of the more fun little Pokemon games that has enough unique things and good level design. X/y is one of the better ones to return to.

The game that got me into Pokemon

I first got this all the way back into 2015, roughly 5 years ago. When I first played it, too boy, it was amazing. The soundtrack was amazing, the graphics were great at the time, the story is well written, and the Pokemon in this gen was great.

Definitly get this game if you haven't, you're missing out. Definintly the best game in gen 6.

Pokemon X revolutionized Pokemon for the 3DS!

Pokemon X is the first Pokemon main-series game to be released on the Nintendo 3DS. Not only did this add in the 3D view during Pokemon battles, it also opened up Pokemon to new aspects of the 3DS such as: new updates that can be downloaded from the Nintendo e-Shop, Streetpass communication, and more! Though there are not as many new Pokemon in Generation 6 as in other generations, you can encounter Pokemon from all 6 generations in the wild once you first begin the game. Also, the gyms have significantly improved in Pokemon X with added-in 3D effects. Each gym has its own different type of maze to reach the gym leader where you encounter gym trainers on the way.

Not only is the game play of Pokemon X magnificent, the plot is also intriguing. The villain organization of the Kalos region, Team Flare, who eliminates anyone who doesn't follow their standards. Pokemon X introduced a new method of training Pokemon; Super Training! You can access Super Training via the bottom screen of the 3DS. In Super Training, you aim soccer balls at balloons of different Pokemon; each with its own way of attacking you. After completing these training sessions, your Pokemon's base stats increase slightly, and you are rewarded bags that can increase your Pokemon's stats even further in Core Training.

The only cons about this game are that 3D mode is only during battles but not in over-world view, and that there are only 69 new Pokemon is Generation 6 (though you still encounter many Pokemon because you can find Pokemon from Generations 1-6). So overall, Pokemon X is a revolutionary game with only a few flaws that successfully introduced Pokemon to the Nintendo 3DS.
