Listen the movie isn't a blockbuster, or has good acting or good effects or any of that but the story is something everyone needs to hear and be aware if because this is our future in some respect. I just wish someone with alot of money could make this end time story current with great acting and effects that everyone will be intrigued to see and ground it in our actual reality at how this one world government is trying hard to be formed as well as how they will control us all with the mark which will most certainly be some iteration of an rfid chip. If you know Bible prophecy you can watch the news and almost piece it together how its coming to pass. If I were a millionaire I'd certainly make this movie and I'd probably be hunted and killed because of how many people and organizations it outs in opening peoples eyes to what they are doing. Low budget movies don't do the message justice and just makes people think its some fictional dravonian story. Its going to be real and alot more complex and involved than these movies can portray with such a small budget.

I had no idea I was in for this kind of biblical punishment when I started watching this film, but it was immediately evident that the Message was going to overwhelm the plot.

If you are a biblical literalist into End of Days prophesy, then I guess the message makes sense. I just got bogged down in the ham-handed New World Order RFID nonsense and the anti-government paranoia.

The acting is atrocious, the dialog is cumbersome. This feels like a really weak college film school project rather than a commercial effort.

I'm not opposed to a Christian message, I thought God's Not Dead was a well done film with a heavy Christian message, but Rumors of War is lame.

It was never made clear to me, but is this the future before or after the rapture? Churches are clearly gone from this society and the New World Order cops are rounding up suspected Christians and getting them and their influence eliminated. Racism seems to have gone because the commander is black. There's a nice university people are now going in and around what used to be Chicago. And the university is now offering chip implants which among other things will protect the implanted from identity theft. The better to keep track of citizens though. It's clearly the mark of the beast.

Rumors Of Wars is another paranoid glimpse by the religious right of its future of persecution under one world government which has as its laudable goal among others, the elimination of religious bigotry which has caused most of the wars the planet has seen. Watching this I was wondering whether a similar cadre of troops were busy rounding up Sunni Moslems in Mecca under the same one world government.

Leads here are Ben Davies one of the New World Order storm troopers who's having second thoughts about his mission rounding up dissidents and Jennifer Cooper who is a student who refuses to have the chip implant. Eric Roberts has a nice role where he hams it up as a Donald Trump like billionaire who is clearly going to turn out to be the Anti- Christ. Because clearly this is going to have sequels.

If you see conspiracies everywhere and love the religious right this is the movie for you.

Listen, I really hate to be that kind of person to give 'the lone star', but this film is really, really rough. Aside from the wardrobe and make up departments, the rest fell on their faces. The story felt disjointed, the special effects were poor, and the acting...well...

Attention Christian film makers. I know you all feel that the message of the story is the most important thing. Well, you are wrong. Sure you need a solid message, but how you communicate that message is more, or at least equal to, the importance of the message itself. If you all insist on using Ben Davies, at least persuade him to invest in some acting lessons. He is so robotic, so unconvincing it seems like he either just got the script the day of filming or has zero life experiences to draw on. One other thing: Stop casting Eric Roberts, period. Look him up on IMDb, as of right now he has 75+ films in progress. He is seriously taking every script that comes across his desk. He has faded into irrelevance because of his poor judgment. He is not a name that will boost your film sales, so just stop...please.

On the upside, the supporting cast were all pretty good. But their performances were over shadowed by too many issues.

The overall message is good. But just like many Christian movies before it the acting isn't great. The audio is also not great at times as well. The sad thing is that many Christian circles will see this movie and think that it's great. when in reality the only good thing about the movie is the message. But guess what, when it comes to movies the message isn't the only thing that makes a good movie. You have to have good actors, a good sounds score, and better effects. All of that will help push the overall message and make people care about what's going on in the movie. Christians should demand better movies then this. If the movie is good then more people will see it. When you make bad movies you can't blame the world for not liking them. The movies should be as good or better then any other non Christian movie that's out there. No one is going to care about the message if the movie is filled with bad actors.

Bad acting, bad makeup, bad artwork, bag CG, bad story line, forced underlying message...UTTER CRAP.

Same yourself the pain and skip this movie!

I get that the author wants to share a Christian message but please do a better job with everything else. Let the story progress without forcing the message to merge with the story line.

I watched the entire movie...so you don't have to. The random additions of rhetoric and theology messes up the story and creates an unnatural progression. The bizarre conspiracy theories combined with the rampant paranoia is reminiscent of fear mongering.

I saw this on Netflix and the plot description sounded interesting and it had 3 stars.

Problem was that I missed the "faith & spirituality" in the genre! So the decent ratings were inflated (sorry but religious people forgive a lot of sins in religious movies)and the plot description did not match.

The film itself borrows from Animal Farm, 1984 and the post-apocalypse genre without being particularly interesting. The acting is leaden, production shoddy but at least the character development was non-existent!

And Eric Roberts.....what were you thinking?

For decades now religious conservatives have complained about Hollywood being a Gomorrah of unwholesome sin. But this film wasn't made outside of Hollywood and yet it contains all kinds of violence in the name of defending Christianity. Christ said that Christians should turn the other cheek when struck and follow his example of his deeds in the garden of Gethsemane. Not only does religion play a heavy hand but the right wing conspiracy theories are shoved down your throat. The movie makes a point of telling you that the godless are out to control or kill the faithful. Give up your faith or die! Taking a Que from Muslim extremists where you must become a Muslim or die. This film is Conservative religious crap that was truly offensive, The American Taliban is strong with this film

This is a movie that seems to be judged, and therefore rated to either extreme by either non-Christians or Christians. Any reviewer should understand this: It is a Christian themed movie. With that in mind, I thought they did a good job with the budget they had and saw no major issues worth condemnation. The prophetic theme was both necessary and appropriate. I felt most of the acting was good. There were a few exceptions of certain actors that were not particularly great; nevertheless, the main characters were proficient enough as not to detract from the story.

The back story running concurrently with the plot was well done. If you are a believer in the Bible and literal biblical prophecy you will probably enjoy it--I did.

This movie was a big disappointment. I could see the plot having some potential but the director/writer lost what could have been a much better movie. Very surprised this made it to national release. Is it possible to buy theater time??? It is obviously low budget, not that this is a reason not to like it. Most of the money went into the uniforms, they should have spent more on special effects or plot refinement. I had some trouble keeping up with the flash backs. This is a religious movie and the plot intertwines with religion and how the masses can be controlled by the the media and a corporate power hungry few. I almost walked out. I can say I have only thought about walking out of a few.

I saw this movie a long time ago and it's never left me. It taught me a powerful message about how many small compromises can lead down a road we can't come back from.

"Rumors of Wars" is an okay Xtian indie with a dystopian theme. Although uneven, the acting and directing are better than in most efforts like this. If (like me) you're sympathetic to it's anti-globalist politics, it's not excessively religious.

Full Disclosure: I'm not an Abrahamic believer. Yes angry atheists, it's possible to be a non-believer without turning into a raging, raving Christaphobe. Try it some time.

Saw this on NetFlix and the description was a little interesting. After the first few minutes it seemed like there was a bit of a heavy hand trying pretty darn hard to tell me how I should feel. I kept thinking, "you don't suppose this is some POS 700 club BS masquerading as a movie do you?". Yet I continued to watch. The RFID chips raised suspicions further, then the soldier who defected to "god" and was shot over it. Just miserable. I don't care if these people feel the need to make hackneyed movies to try to trick their flocks into believing their dogma. Perhaps it is for the teens to make them think they get to see real movies, but Special movies, movies with a message. That is all fine and dandy, just don't try to trick others into watching this schlock. To the makers of this movie, I found myself agreeing with the "bad guys" before I shut it off in disgust. A movie like this really needs to be labeled clearly with a warning sticker that this is intended for the ignorant. If you want to show this to a group, it would make a great double feature with 'Birth of a Nation'. It wasn't even one of those bad movies that is so bad it is good or funny, it was just patently bad with no redeeming qualities. Like someone wandered into a couple of post apocalyptic movies and decided they could write a story and if they tilted it enough, they could possibly dupe a church to pay for it. Ed Wood did it better.

Avoid this movie like it was one of the seven plagues of Egypt.

Started watching because it sounded interesting. Go watch 'Equilibrium' and replace sense offense with Christian cautionary tale.

I was okay with the low budget, but a half hour in there were too many scenes similar to equilibrium for me to not see that this was a ripoff unless it was directed by Kurt Wimmer, and it wasn't.

The concept could have been cool but there is to much crossover to not consider this plagiarism, and I am talking about scene settings and lines, not concept

It is obvious that this movie is made after someone, some organization ordered and paid for it. Of course, that would be some Christian church, organization - but really, man most have some doubts even about that. Because this is done so miserably bad that just has counter effect in many, if not most cases. In other words, worst way to recruit new members, to turn people into Christian way of life.

First 5 minutes were some worst camera work, what I ever seen. If it would be longer in that way, I would turn off it - was so bad. Then came some less intense scenes, where even camera was better. Will not go in details about nonsense present all over. Lets just see the title - what sounds so cheap. Basically, they - bad guys in movie claim that new World, with his anti Christianism is good because religions were who started wars. And it was just part of whole conspiracy, what resulted with "apocalypse society" . What caused wars, what is what still causing them ? In big part it is greed for power, for territory, resources, and like. And yes, religion is in many cases instrument of power. Surely, religion self did not start wars, but was involved in many, and not in good way often - there are movies about Vatican during WWII . Or what happened in South America during take over of it by those with fire weapons - same as in this crap movie - burning of books. I'm not anti-Christian. I'm for facts, and against cheap propaganda. And this movie is right that.

Eric Roberts is listed first in actor list. Surely, most known one here. But he was only some 4 minutes, in only 1 scene. And looked really bad, would say washed out actor. They needed some 'star', for not much money, he needed money, I guess. Sorry producers, we don't need such things on screen. We need good story, believable looks. He just did not look as someone able to create all what was told about character. He looked as bump in suit.

At the end, I give it 2, only because pretty face of Jennifer Cooper. She was only thing what was pleasure to see in this misfire.

I was about 3/4 through this movie before I realized it was an overt Christian movie. Partly because the production quality is top notch and partly because I had recently seen Battlestar Galactica which featured extensive overt religious talk.

I was aware of the extensive Antichrist imagery and parallels but just assumed it was a secular movie based on that.

It seems to me this movie could be made without the completely on the nose parts (the camp Bible reading and some others) and it could be pretty commercial.

The RFID stuff works and the Antichrist here is FAR more effective than, say, Damien in the Omen. Here, he's a motivational speaker!

Lots of harsh criticism about the quality of the film. No surprise given that Hollywood is largely anti-God and would never entertain the thought of producing a top shelf movie with this kind of Christian message. So, given Hollywood's pagan values, I think the movie held its own.

Although it was released in 2014, it was very telling about the possibilities we are facing less than one week from the 2020 presidential election. God help us.

I read the previous negative reviews and almost didn't watch because of them, but the problem is those reviews seem to be proffered by people hostile to religion; hostile to Christianity in general. The movie is as good as most Hollywood movies. I mean, look at movies like Avatar; that movie was clearly anti-capitalism, anti-military, and even anti-Western society. So what if Rumors of Wars has an agenda. There really IS some truth to potential conspiracies. Look up Operation Northwood an admitted CIA project that planned to blame terrorist attacks on Cuba so as to launch an invasion.

The acting in this movie is as good as most cheesy Hollywood junk, like Dumb and Dumber, Joe Dirt and some of the junk people think is great. Give it a chance.

I will start with that I am not religious and too much preaching of any kind will turn me off on a movie. This movie has some Christian elements so if you are a fanatical Atheist who demonstrates the worst qualities of any fanatical thiest this is not the movie for you. If you expect a slick production and great acting this is not the movie for you. However if you like to contemplate the world and think about what ifs, this is a good movie. It asks many questions and good questions at that. Makes one think about how easy it is to fall into traps of fanaticism so readily displayed by previous reviewers. One does not need to be or identify with Christianity to identify with the ideas and questions asked. I'd love to see a higher budget less theist remake of this movie. The plot holds so much potential and warning for the world.

A lot of negative write-ups. Why? I don't know. It is beyond me to understand how a post-breakdown movie could not have some kind of Biblical reference. The "haters gonna hate" to the naysayers. The movie was good. Nothing new in its story line, but it was well done. Actors were fine. I was particularly taken by the treatment of the police/military. Seemed a little over the top, but I can see how life in such a future could possibly be as portrayed. Parts of the movie reminded me of Aleppo or Beirut (long ago). Certainly not as dark as 'Children of Men.' As with many other future-doom movies, government oppression rules the day.

Christian made films usually have one tenth of the budgets of the typical Hollywood movie. I know a bit about this as some music I penned was used in a Christian made film fourteen years ago that was distributed by Lionsgate Nationally. These faith films aremade pretty much on a wing and a prayer, so, they cannot hire Industrial light and magic or any other large expensive effects companies nor can they hire well known stars even if they happen to be Christians like Denzel Washington As it would use up their miniscule budget in 2 days.The one " Star" in this movie is Eric Roberts who only recites a few lines as an Antichrist like charismatic figure...

They simply don't have the resources that big budget films have so must make do with lesser known actors and Almost no special effects. That doesn't mean a film made by Christians can't be at least enjoyable to watch or better than tolerable, but they have to focus on the story and the purpose of the film not expensive effects or high dollar movie stars. Christian films have to concentrate on telling a message based on biblical themes or ideas making sure that is well done...

This film concentrates on a young female college student named Roxy that writes in her diary about what different scriptures from the Bible mean to her and particularly Prophetic Bible verses focusing on what the apostle Paul and Jesus Christ Himself called The last days or what things will be like during the " Great tribulation" that will unfold and become reality.

The film flashes forward to a time where society has completely devolved into a dystopian nightmarish culture where harsh New World Order soldiers hunt down and either kill Christians or use them as slaves or prostitutes, then flashing back to Roxy who is quickly realizing the Bible verses she's writing down in her diary are beginning to unfold right in front of her eyes. The government is now requiring all people be microchipped with an RFID chip done in the name of "Safety" and " Security" which Roxy then refuses as she's read about The Mark of the beast in Revelation in which no one can buy or sell anything in the mainstream marketplace. Roxy is tracked and hunted but helped by two converts who finally realize everything they've ever been told about God and the Bible by humanistic secularists have been complete lies...

What I would ask of those who have mocked and ridiculed this little low budget Christian film is...In 2020 where the world has gone crazy, A pandemic has shut down almost the entire society for 9 months, and Government officials in California and other states are mandating churches not sing at all or music venues cannot have bands or horn players play does the premise of this film still seem that far-fetched?
