I set last night aside to watch this on Amazon Prime, as one of my favorite indie actresses Brooke Lewis Bellas was promoting it. All I can say is that this deserves more praise than it is getting. I watch a lot of independent films and this looks like a way higher budget with real professional actors, direction, locations, art direction, camerawork, etc. I do agree the story is a bit confusing, but the alternate universe element made sense to me by the end. As always, I love Brooke Lewis Bellas in this cute sassy role with some comedy then transitioning to moments of fear. I thought the acting was really good altogether and mentions should go to the always great Louis Mandylor and I am not familiar with the lead Michael Rene Walton, but he seems like a talent to watch for. Again, if you want a solid indie film to watch on Prime, I suggest this.
I can't stand movies that end in the middle. Meaning, they bring up all these mysterious questions, and suddenly the credits roll without answering a single one of them! The mystery and suspense in this movie starts out great, but nothing is explained and nothing comes to a conclusion. "Clues" that make no sense are dropped, and not one of them provides an answer to anything. I kept waiting for a single question to be answered, but all I got was a repetition the same questions till suddenly the credits rolled.
Only watch this movie if you're on drugs and can make up your own ending, because this movie doesn't have one.

I can see this was a relatively low-budget effort, though it wasn't really obvious. Good acting, a mostly good screenplay, and a good story well handled. I like a movie which doesn't see an obligation to explain every little thing, but leaves us wondering on some things. It focusses on what we need to be intrigued and carried along with the story.
There were occasional implausible points which should have scripted better, but they're easy enough to get over.
Aside from the nudity at the start which was probably considered necessary to get the plot rolling (& couldn't be described as gratuitous), the rest of the movie was PG. I felt good that I'd selected it to watch it with my wife tonight.

What the hell happened?? One of the most confusing movies I've ever seen with an ending that gives NO explanation!
I really liked this movie. It's an allegory for the huge topic of grieving the loss of a loved one and dealing with that loss and/or the guilt associated with that loss. I really love the use of science fiction to support the allegory. This to me is similar to the movie Colossal where science fiction is used to explore the dynamics of alcoholism. I love allegories and I love the allegorical use of science fiction to explore these important subjects. I rated this movie a 10, very moving. I guess you have to have experience with literature to appreciate it.
