It's not the first or even the second series from Bykov, so why should you pay attention to it?
To be honest, despite the fact that they like to talk about the romanticism of the 90s, high-quality projects are extremely rare. Last year, there was 1, but here everything is a little different.
Let it be something in between the Word of a kid, in which all conflicts are local between several groups of people and a Brigade, where, by the standards of bandits, everything reached serious proportions.
In Dashing, the main characters remain Killers until the finale. There is no character development. They become bad guys because they want to eat, and then they don't even think about changing their profession.
There are 2 timelines in the series. The first one, which begins each episode and ends the final one, contains the present. The rest of the timekeeping is reserved for the 90s itself.
It was interesting to watch, waiting for how it would end. It's clear that it's bad. The moral needs to be conveyed to children, but still how bad is it? To be honest, everything was messily crammed into the last 15 minutes and the feeling of the finished story did not work out.
It was beautifully shot. Probably the best picture among Yura's entire filmography.
You can also scold some audio issues. Sometimes the music plays louder than speech, and sometimes you just have to listen to the mumbling to understand what they said.
It seems that it was possible to shoot more episodes and devote more time to something other than the basics. Apparently, they were afraid to overload, and as a result, they got a good story for 1 viewing.
It will fade from memory quickly, but I got a share of the pleasure of watching it.
