Law plays Jake Friedkin, the owner of the titular restuarant and VIP lounge, while Bateman portrays his less financially stable brother,...

The Summer Jeremiah Turned Villain: Screw Endgames, I Want a Crashout!
Image
I can’t figure out if The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s final season is Bonrad’s love story or Jeremiah’s villain origin story.

If I didn’t know any better, in a world where we could collectively have a bit more fun with this series, this third season would be the perfect launching pad for Jeremiah to crash out and become some supervillain completely!

At the very least, the character should happily make his way to Chicago and start staging for Marcus on The Bear, but alas, that’s all in a girl’s imagination.

(Prime Video/Screenshot) Frat Boy Foolery

It’s no secret that the love triangle is one of the most contentious in young adult history.

For reasons that range from the understandable to the positively unhinged and ludicrous, many people despise the youngest Fisher brother, leaving the audience divided.

But this season in particular...

Son Of Sardaar 2 Music Review: Some Forgettable But Still Enjoyable Songs In The List! (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Acche din is back for Bollywood and Bollywood music in particular. Keith Gomes’ short film ‘Dear Men’ starring Sayani Gupta premieres on World Anti-Trafficking Day
Image
Inspired by the thrilling true rescue story of Dipesh Tank – the man who risked everything to rescue minor girls from trafficking – comes a short film that is a war cry wrapped in cinema. This July 30, World Day against Trafficking in Persons, filmmaker Keith Gomes is set to release his boldest work yet: Dear Men, a hard-hitting short film that dares to look trafficking straight in the eye and pays a tribute to Dipesh and every rescuers courage.

Versatile Sayani Gupta stars in this powerful story that blends undercover bravery with raw emotional grit, bringing to life a thrilling narrative that has remained buried in the shadows of India’s heartlands for far too long. As of early 2024, 44% of human trafficking victims in India were minors, with Rajasthan and Bihar recording the highest number of child trafficking cases between 2018 and 2022. Around 53% of trafficking victims are exploited in sexual slavery, with an...

Industry Season 4 Is Already Tanking Before It Airs
Image
Back in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, a show with a relatively unknown cast and creatives premiered on HBO in the US and BBC in the UK. Five years later, Industry is close to being as mainstream as The White Lotus.

Set in the banking and investment world, it followed a group of twenty-somethings who had just left university with the promise of fortune in the finance industry.

Industry worked for many reasons. People familiar with the subject matter created the series, and although it used a lot of financial jargon, it was as easy to follow as it was to understand what everyone was saying.

( Simon Ridgway/HBO)

At the core were the youngsters who were hungry to make a mark in this industry. All gritty in their way, they were willing to fight tooth and nail to be noticed, and that gave birth to some interesting dynamics and storylines.

Metro In Dino Side B Music Review: Falling In Love With Love Again Might Not Be That Hard! (Photo Credit –Facebook)

What is one quality of love that conquers it all? Well, to be very specific, it is making an effort to make your heart feel loved over and over! And Anurag Basu definitely knows this one rule, and he follows it by heart as he presents yet another lovely album from Metro In Dino titled Side B!

Composed by Pritam, penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, along with Sandeep Shrivastava, Momin Khan Momin taking heavy inspirations from Ghalib, and Qaisar Ul Jafri, the side B album of the film is Sukoon! Something that Side A did not offer!

Side B has 13 songs – mostly, reprise versions, but each version offering a totally different set of emotions. This side of Metro In Dino album has only 4 originals – Qayde Se, Hote Tak, Haasil Sai Baaki,...

Former ‘Doctor Who’ Star, 43, Joins the BBC’s New Drama About a Soccer Legend
Image
The world loves a sports drama, and now one of the most controversial former Time Lords on Doctor Who is set to star in one. Jodie Whittaker, best known for playing the Thirteenth Doctor in the sci-fi series, is one of the more contentious leads in the show's modern history, thanks in no small part to a poor behind-the-scenes production helmed by Chris Chibnall. In fact, apart from Doctor Who, Whittaker's reputation as a top actress is impeccable, having dazzled in the likes of Toxic Town and Broadchurch.

Now, she is set to join the ensemble of the BBC's Dear England, an upcoming adaptation of the hugely successful stage production that dramatizes the journey of the England national men's football team under the tutelage of manager Gareth Southgate. Whittaker is confirmed via Radio Times to be starring as team psychologist Pippa Grange, alongside a cast already bursting at the seams with talent.

2024 U.S. Box Office Finals At $8.7 Billion: How The Studios Stand
Image
Even though there’s still $2 billion to $3 billion missing in the post Covid annual domestic box office, there was plenty to be thankful for in 2024 which is coming in at an estimated $8.72 billion, -3% from 2023’s $9 billion. That figure is factored from Comscore and Deadline calculations.

First of all, many were expecting 2024 to final at $8 billion, so the fact that we’re $720M beyond that point in a year which was half wrecked by the aftermath of the strikes, is praiseworthy. There were fewer tentpoles in Q1, not to mention there wasn’t a Marvel Studios movie to fire up summer in early May (that didn’t come until late July with Deadpool & Wolverine which at $211.4M is the highest opening of the year).

Before the first weekend in May, the domestic box office was lagging -20% behind 2023’s running cume. As of yesterday, the U.S./Canada 2024 box...

Elsbeth Season 2 Episode 7 Spoilers: Michael Emerson Makes The Switch From Evil To Elsbeth
Image
It will be a family affair in the next episode of Elsbeth. It’s excellent news for Carrie Preston because who doesn’t love working with their spouse, especially on a show as fun as Elsbeth?

That’s right. Everyone’s favorite psycho from Evil, Michael Emerson, is bringing his cold, dead smile to the courtroom. CBS sure does like to keep everything in the Paramount family.

Preston and Emerson are best known for their roles on shows like Elsbeth and Evil, which are not only Paramount+ residents but stem from the same showrunners.

(Michael Parmelee/CBS)

I wasn’t kidding when I called this episode a family affair. Both series have showrunners and married couple Robert and Michelle King’s hands working behind the scenes.

So, with two married couples in front and behind the camera, there’s bound to be a ridiculous amount of entertaining chemistry. Plus, don...

Dear Santa Ending Explained: Is Liam's Brother Alive?
Image
This article contains brief discussions of child death.

Major Spoilers for Dear Santa are ahead!

Jack Black’s zany 2024 Christmas movie, Dear Santa, tells a wish-granting story with a twist ending that is so perplexing that it undermines the in-world logic system. At the start of the Paramount+ movie, the tone is immediately established as a young boy named Liam listens to his parents arguing in another room. While his father wants to tell Liam Santa isn’t real, his mother doesn’t want to shatter the illusion. Liam writes a letter, but the young boy with dyslexia writes “Satan” instead of “Santa.”

When Satan arrives, he initially pretends to be Santa, telling Liam he gets three wishes. The young boy figures out that Jolly Old Saint Nick is actually a demon trying to obtain the human’s soul. Liam initially seems skeptical of the demon, but he eventually creates...

When Rashmika Mandanna Was Unsure Of Her Animal Character (Photo Credit – Instagram)

The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal completes a year today (December 1). The movie was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and emerged as a blockbuster at the box office. However, it was marred by several controversies wherein many sections of the audience labeled it as misogynistic, problematic and promoting alleged violence, abuse and sexist behavior against women. Some audiences were also irked with the portrayal of Rashmika Mandanna’s character Geetanjali in the film.

She played Ranbir’s wife in the film who was seen undergoing a tumultuous marriage with him. Her character tolerated some comments, actions and behavior of her husband which disgusted many fans back then. However, did you know that Rashmika herself questioned some actions of her character in the film.

Last year post the release of Animal, Rashmika Mandanna had shared some BTS pictures from the sets of the film.

Post Malone’s Cameo In Dear Santa Explained
Image
Warning: Contains Spoilers for Dear SantaIt may sound odd that two prominent characters in Jack Black's new Christmas movie are Satan and Post Malone, but that's the case for Dear Santa. Dear Santa is an exciting film since it's Jack Black's first Christmas movie since The Holiday, which was released in 2006. In addition to Black, the cast of Dear Santa includes the aforementioned Post Malone, Robert Timothy Smith, Brianne Howey, and Keegan-Michael Key. While the film currently has a disappointing audience score of 35% on Rotten Tomatoes, Dear Santa should be enjoyed by fans of Post Malone.

The story of Dear Santa follows Liam, a sixth-grader who writes his Christmas wishlist and mails it out. However, he accidentally misspelled "Santa" as "Satan." Therefore, Jack Black, who plays Satan in the movie, appears to Liam the next day dressed as Santa and grants him three wishes. Dear Santa is clearly not a traditional 2024 Christmas movie,...

Farrelly Brothers On The Long Road To Jack Black Christmas Movie Dear Santa
Image
Peter and Bobby Farrelly's Christmas comedy, Dear Santa, starring Jack Black, has finally arrived after a decade-long journey. Dear Santa follows the story of Liam (Robert Timothy Smith), a young boy with dyslexia who thinks that Santa Claus "is probably not real." Still, he decides to write Santa a letter, but a spelling error has dire results. Instead of addressing the envelope to the jolly bearded gift distributor, Liam writes "Satan," summoning Black's character, who begins pretending he is Santa. During a recent conversation with Variety, the brothers discussed where the idea for Dear Santa was born and why it took them ten years to get the movie "just right:"

"Pete Jones and Kevin Barnett, who we work with a lot, brought us the idea and they said, 'A kid's writing a letter to Santa, but he misspells it and instead writes it to Satan.' We're like, 'We'll buy that.

Dumb and Dumber Filmmakers Tease Another Sequel With Jim Carrey & Jeff Daniels
Image
Released in 1994, Dumb and Dumber still stands tall as one of the most popular comedy movies of its era. Three decades later, the Farrelly Bros. are teasing that a third installment will happen in another 10 years.

Recently, the Farrelly Bros. took part in an interview with Variety to promote their next film, Dear Santa. They were asked if there were any movies from their catalog they'd be interested in revisiting, and the 30-year-old comedy starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels was instantly mentioned. Peter Farrelly, who directed the film after co-writing the script with brother Bobby Farrelly and Bennett Yellin, confirmed there are loose plans to make another Dumb and Dumber film.

The Farrelly Brothers Think ‘Shallow Hal’ Totally Holds Up
Image
The Farrelly Brothers are known for making iconic comedies like Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin and There’s Something About Mary — as well as less-than-iconic comedies like Hall Pass and the remake of The Heartbreak Kid that somehow missed the entire point of the original. After working on separate projects for the past decade (including one of the worst Oscar Best Picture winners of all time), the Farrelly Brothers are back together. Sort of.

The new comedy Dear Santa was directed by Bobby Farrelly, from a script co-written by Peter Farrelly. It stars Jack Black as the literal Devil, who is accidentally conjured by a small child after they write a letter to “Satan” instead of “Santa.”

Is it any good? Well, the fact that it dropped on Paramount+ on a Monday doesn’t exactly seem like a great sign.

But could Dear Santa possibly be worse than the Farrelly Brothers’ previous collaboration with Jack Black?...

Dear Santa 2024 Cast & Character Guide
Image
Paramount+'s newest Christmas movie Dear Santa flips the usual understanding of Santa on its head. When Liam writes his letter to Santa and addresses it to the North Pole, his spelling error ensures the letter ends up with the devil instead. When Dear Santa's Satan arrives, Liam is startled by his appearance but proceeds to befriend him anyway, believing him to be the real Santa. What follows is a chaotic but fun Christmas movie with some lovable characters.

Dear Santa's premise is lovably silly and lighthearted, and the cast holds the movie up with their fitting and funny performances. The unique new Christmas movie will certainly be a hit both with families and older viewers looking for a fun, easy watch. Along with some new faces, Dear Santa also includes several well-known comedic actors who help ensure that the movie will be a hit with audiences of all ages.

The Farrelly Brothers Defend Their 2001 Controversial Comedy 'Shallow Hal'
Image
Directing duo Peter and Bobby Farrelly a.k.a. the Farrelly brothers have come out in defense of one of their most controversial comedies. The pair is known for controversy thanks to the likes of Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary, and Stuck on You, but their 2001 effort Shallow Hal, which follows Jack Back as the titular shallow man whose romantic life is changed after hes hypnotized into seeing a person's inner beauty, is surely at the top of that particular list.

Speaking with Variety about their latest project, the Christmas comedy Dear Santa, which sees them reunite with Jack Black, the Farrelly brothers addressed Blacks prior assessment that Shallow Hal didnt turn out as hed hoped. Bobby Farrelly, though, feels that the message of the movie remains intact, and doesnt believe Shallow Hal should have gotten such a controversial reputation as it came from a good place.

Peter: No,...

Dear Santa Review: Satan, Slapstick, and Seasonal Chaos
Image
In the bizarre “Dear Santa” world, a dyslexic sixth-grader’s spelling error turns a simple Christmas wish into a supernatural intervention. Liam mistakenly summons Satan rather than Santa, a very intriguing notion that could be comedy gold.

Jack Black’s demon arrives full of malicious energy, promising a thrilling journey during the festive season. A missing letter leads to a supernatural adventure with undertones of dark humor and comedic potential. But potential, as “Dear Santa” rapidly demonstrates, is dangerous.

The film dangles its intriguing subject like a carrot, promising unexpected twists that never materialize. What starts as a wonderful “what-if” scenario quickly devolves into a chaotic examination of wish fulfillment and supernatural pranks, proving that the path to comedic hell is paved with good intentions.

A fantastic idea meets a dismal execution, leaving viewers wondering what could have gone wrong in this holiday comedy.

“Dear Remy”: Hollywood Career Coach on Ghostly Roles, Needy Agents and Too-Cute Murder Shows

Help! My Agent Is a Drama Queen

Dear Remy,

For over a year now, I’ve been struggling with my agent, and I’m at a complete loss on how to handle it.

Her life is one drama after another. If she’s not spiraling over a loved one, she’s taking mental health days to recover from the latest showdown. Sometimes, I swear, it feels like she’s living in a telenovela—which has become incredibly stressful for me.

At first, I was supportive. I even helped her draft WhatsApps to her on-again, off-again boyfriend over matcha chai. But now, it’s not entertaining anymore. She’s dropping balls more often than a fumble-prone quarterback, and when I need her most, she’s offline.

Last week, she missed a meeting with a network exec because she was dealing with an epic misunderstanding over her brother’s birthday gift, resulting...

Swifties Reignite Feud With Zach Bryan After Brianna Chickenfry Allegations
Image
Now, go stand in the corner and think about what you did — that’s the message Taylor Swift’s fans seem to have for Zach Bryan following his tumultuous split from Brianna “Chickenfry” Lapaglia and her claims that the singer-songwriter emotionally abused her.

The bad blood (sorry) between Bryan and Swifties, of course, has its own recent origins, back when Bryan fired off a spicy tweet: “eagles > chiefs Kanye > Taylor who’s with me.” (Music aside, Bryan is a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, and his team did lose to Travis Kelce...

First Look at Farrelly Brothers' Christmas Comedy, Dear Santa, with Jack Black as Satanta
Image
Paramount+ released a first look at their new Christmas comedy titled Dear Santa starring Jack Black. This is the first film by the Farrelly Brothers in a decade, and there are many questioning whether it will be a successful return for the Dumb & Dumber creators. In the movie, Black plays Satan, who is coincidentally confused with Santa, in the devilishly funny holiday romp.

The premise of Dear Santa follows a young man, Liam Turner played by Robert Timothy Smith, who still believes in Santa. In order to prove all of his disbelieving friends wrong, Liam writes a letter to jolly Saint Nick himself, pleading with the legend to reveal himself. However, a spelling error accidentally addresses the letter to Satan, played by Jack Black. Flattered by the unexpected letter, Satan decides to meet Liam, inciting chaos, mischief, and hilarity.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Peter Farrelly shared that they first heard...

Junji Ito’s Inspiration for Horror is Deceptively Simple That Makes it Even More Disturbing: ‘The human body is a symbol of that bottomlessness’
Image
When it comes to horror manga, Junji Ito reigns supreme. With his bone-chilling stories, he has carved his niche in the genre. From Tomie to Glyceride, his works induce fear and disgust within the readers. This holds especially true with his use of grotesque imagery and phobias. His illustrations outline fear most unusually. However, this extends to his inspirations as well.

His works underscore an array of emotions ranging from fear, disgust, and revulsion. Moreover, his blend of societal turmoil with body horror sets his work apart from other mangas. While he has quoted Western authors for his inspiration, there’s more to it as he revealed in an interview.

Junji Ito’s works highlight the use of body horror.

Keegan-Michael Key says he and Jordan Peele barely see each other anymore
Image
Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele made sketch comedy cool again for the first time since Chappelle’s Show went off the air. And although relatively short-lived with just over 50 episodes across five seasons, it left its mark and stands as one of the best cult sketch shows ever. But long gone are those days of Key & Peele, both the show and the duo.

This is something that still bugs Keegan-Michael Key, who told People, “We don’t see each other that often anymore. Which is, to me, a tragedy.” As for why Key & Jordan Peele don’t hang out, it comes down to simply moving on and finding new interests. “Your lives start to evolve and move in different directions. Our evolution, I think, is tied to both of what our desires are. His desire was to start exploring the horror genre, and my desire was to do more dramatic...

‘It Ends With Us’: Justin Baldoni Sends ‘Gratitude, Strength and Love’ to Domestic Abuse Survivors in Open Letter
Image
The saga of “It Ends With Us” continues.

The romantic drama, based on the Colleen Hoover novel of the same name, has racked up nearly $300 million worldwide, but it has also been plagued with controversy at almost every turn. Most of that drama has to do with the relationship between director and star Justin Baldoni and actress-producer Blake Lively, with eagle-eyed sleuths decoding statements made by them in interviews and hearsay flowing wildly about supposed behind-the-scenes issues.

There’s been another element to this too, with Lively being criticized for not taking the movie’s themes of domestic violence seriously enough. Baldoni has now released a statement on social media.

“Dear Survivor,” Saturday’s note begins. “You embody resilience and courage, qualities that shine bright even on the darkest days.”

His message continues: “In the tapestry of your life, each thread tells a story of endurance, strength and hope. Every step forward you take,...
