Another new name has been added to the cast of Fox’s The Exorcist TV series, and it should excite fans of Beetlejuice and 1986’s The Fly.
Variety reports that Geena Davis has joined the cast of The Exorcist TV series. Davis is set to play the role of Angela Rance, who “does everything she can to stay positive and keep her faith even though her family is currently struggling.” Despite her sunny outlook on life, Angela dreams of a demon and wonders if it is related to the problems plaguing her family.
Angela appears to be the mother of Charlotte Rance (Brianne Howey from Scream Queens), a teenager who is potentially possessed by a demon following an intense accident, and Charolotte’s concerned sister, Casey (Hannah Kasulka from The Fosters).

Deadline reports that Kurt Egyiawan (Beasts of No Nation) has joined the cast of Fox’s The Exorcist TV series as a series regular role as Father Bennett, “a liaison for the Vatican.”
Egyiawan joins Alfonso Herrera (Sense8, Demon Inside) and Ben Daniels (Flesh and Bone, Doom) in the series, who recently climbed aboard the project to play priests as well.
Herrera’s Father Tomas is described as a “warm, selfless and compassionate leader of a small but hearty little church,” while Daniels’ Father Marcus is “the intense holy warrior carrying out an occupation that the church no longer acknowledges in public.”

The Spanish language film Espectro has been picked up by sales agent Darclight Films. This film, from Mexico, might be distributed in other parts of North America later this year. The film is from director Alfonso Pineda Ulloa (Restos). And the film stars Alfonso Herrera ("El Capo"), Gala Montes and Johanna Murillo. The film has already released in Mexico and international horror fans can preview the film here. The film's story begins with Marta (Montes). She is a gifted psychic, forced into seclusion after a traumatic incident. Marta fear hers attacker, Mario (Herrera), will find her again and she seeks shelter in an asylum. Crazy neighbours, spirits and other terrors haunt Marta upon her return to the outside world. A trailer for Espectro was released earlier this year. The clip includes lots of jarring imagery and a few surprises along the way. Fans of obscure horror are encouraged to take a look below.
