Jim Jefferies is hilarious, he's crude and a @#$hole but you have to love him, and he reminds us a bit of ourselves at the same time. Also he's just funny, unlike certain actors in comedy's. i was waiting for another stand up DVD but found this. A lot of his jokes from his stand ups are little scenarios so his comedy adapts well to TV. He's more in your face than Louie C.K. like an Australian Kenny Powers. I can't wait to see a certain number of jokes played out in his show as well. I can see fans of Eastbound and down, Wilfred, Workaholics and south park enjoying this. Also fans of Curb and Louie will like it. The first show you can tell it was a bit off mark but I can definitely see it getting more polished. Please make heaps of season's FX!
If your a Jim Jefferies fan, then this series is right up your alley. The only major issue with the show is that he's been forced to tone down his language for commercial TV, but I solved this problem by imagining he's using the 'c' word whenever he swears. If your not a fan then I suggest you just stick to watching re-runs of '7th Heaven'. DJ Qualls is a standout character, he plays his part brilliantly. However, Dan Bakkedahl seems like he doesn't belong in any of his scenes, it's a bit hard to explain, maybe he's just trying too hard? I better not forget to mention 'Rodney' played by Nick Daley, he looks like he's having the time of his life in the scenes he's in. The other actors could take a leaf out of his book. One drawback of the show is that you'll break out in spontaneous giggles whenever you remember parts of the show, which isn't a good look on a crowded bus.

I don't understand the hate this show has been getting from some viewers. Legit has some of the funniest, rawest, most original lines I've seen on a TV show, and also has tremendous heart. By the end of the third episode, I was switching between hysterical laughter and tearing up. No, it's not PC, it's raunchy, and its not something you want young kids to see, but the caring in Jim's efforts to make life better for his disabled friend, and the situational humor that goes along with it, make this show one of the best on TV. Or, you could go back to watching your regular broadcast sitcom with a canned laughtrack, in which nothing resembling real life ever occurs...
This show is genuinely hilarious. Like many of these mockumentary style shows or sitcoms they often start off a little slowly. (Not that this show could be described as a mockumentary as such)However, this review comes after episode 3 (Love) which is the best episode so far and I'm already falling in love with all the main characters.
It has been said often of Legit that it has heart, it certainly does, it has oodles of soul perfectly balanced with gut busting laughter.
Reminiscent of Curb your Enthusiasm Legit is cringe-worthy more often than not but you wont be able to look away. A bit like Parks & Rec it started slowly but didn't take long for me to feel great empathy for the main cast, you really want these guys to succeed.
Its a little to early to dissect the characters, suffice it to say, Jim Jefferies' TV packaged portrayal of himself is a little out of step with the Jim Jefferies you'll experience on stage. Albeit the Jim in the TV show seems like a bit of a narcissist and/or sociopath to some extent, slowly going legit and becoming more empathic, which I suppose is the point of the somewhat vague premise. Nevertheless, it still works and it's fair to say the guy can act, He's no DJ Qualls in the acting department but I would give him a robust 7/10 notwithstanding.
Jim manages to deliver his brand of shock value comedy, vulgarity and twisted tales without the unrelenting barrage of epithets and I think its a credit to him.
It goes without saying that Legit will not be for everyone, Jim Jefferies is not considered one of the top dirty stand up comics for no reason.
I'm not sure where this show is headed nor could I say it has much longevity but I'm going to enjoy the ride while it lasts. Why don't you join me.

Okay, so I was a little skeptical on this show seeing as Anger Management was really bad and how disappointing is was to see Unsupervised go, but after seeing how good The Americans is and the return of Archer I decided to give this show a chance. It was excellent. I mean while not the best show on FX, it is a very well structured one. One person helps another man look after his brother, who has muscular dystrophy, which sucks to have in the first place. I think DJ Quall does an excellent job as Billy and Jim Jefferies does a good job as Jim. Dan Bakkedahl isn't really funny, but he wasn't meant to be funny, he was meant to be the serious guy who looks after his sick brother. Then there are a hilarious amount of bit characters in there too. 9/10
