Am still left speechless by this film but endeavoring to overcome it in order to post a review while fresh in my mind. To be honest I find it too difficult to see certain kinds of violence on screen so I saw those scenes in fast-forward.

Apart from the compelling social theme, the acting in this movie is riveting. Never overdone even for a moment, so many scenes bring out the subtle paradoxes of life and the moments of conflict that test one's character. Minor characters play pivotal roles and no character, scene or line is extraneous. The script is also very natural and forces you to confront such realities, never letting you think this is just a movie dialogue. And the music expresses what you cannot express while seeing what you cannot believe. The more you see this movie the more you see in this movie. And in society. Really brilliant.

Naa Bangaaru Talli (My Dearest Daughter), I initially thought this would be another documentary considering the fact that this movie has won 3 national awards, but boy was i in for a surprise, THE MOVIE IS NOT A DOCUMENTARY, its an out and out commercial cinema, with twists and turns that would put any movie to shame. The scenes make the audience give out deep breaths every now and then yes, not jus sigh! Simplified dialogue make us to understand the movie very easily. Nearing the pre-climax, i felt proud to clap hands than those who feel proud to deserve them :) every time my appalause lasted little longer than usual. The power of cinema is proved well. The characterization of each and every person was crystal clear; especially when it was not necessary for the director to remind the nature of the heroine with flashcuts in between; shows the clarity in the making. The Movie revolves around the central characters of Father and Daughter duo brilliantly portrayed by Siddiqe and Anjali Patil, the songs and background score is soothing to the ears, the message i brings out is extremely clear and lasting. Though the movie is centred to the social issue of Human Trafiking and Prostitution there is no cheap / vulgar scenes the movie, this movie is a must watch a double thumbs up to Naa Bangaaru Talli

Why awful movies like this get national awards and good reviews from others continues to astound me in more ways than one. It's a terribly shot movie with a bunch of mistakes. I know it's about a social justice issue and the issue itself is sad and heartbreaking (which is why I hated everyone in the movie; the men and the women in the brothel especially, but even the lead cos she was weak AF) but the way the movie was taken, the characters (except for that boy that helped) and the storyline as well were horrible. Only Siddique's acting was great cos his character made me want to chop him up lmao but he captured a jerkface brilliantly and I expected nothing less! All in all though, god-awful movie and not something anyone should torture themselves watching. Watch a more worthwhile movie folks.
