I have never watched all the episodes. But it was a fun series, I was watching it out of curiosity about how the 80s were in Turkey.

Another great comedy series after another great series, Bizimkiler. Seksenler (eighties) depicted the ordinary life of Turkish people in a smooth way. It is our Seinfeld.

It is 4.15 am now in Turkey and now i am watching again the episode which has a scene "seni seviyorum g" (i love you g).

The leading charater, Ahmet, is in love with a girl named Gülden. He finds it hard to convey his feelings and decides to write "seni seviyorum gulden" (i love you Gulden) on an apartment block's facade but when doing this he is busted by the night watch. It is the time of quarrels between left and right wings and writing something on the wall is about political views. So before he writes the remaining part of the name of the girl he is taken into custody by the night watch. (The night watch knows and respects him but doesnt even look at what he is writing 😀) at the police station the police officer asks what g is and Ahmet is ashamed of telling the name. This is widely experiemced feeling of hundreds of thousands of people in society. In the episode Ahmet tells his best friend Ergün "I can fight against ten men but cant say i love you to Gulden."

For our society it is a great series. But it may be meaningless to other people. I dont know. I recommend everyone to watch it.
