Shane Hawkins, the 17-year-old son of late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, appeared at a drum clinic in Newquay, England, on Thursday, where he told the crowd that his father’s favorite Foo Fighters song to play in concert wasn’t “Aurora,” contrary to public belief, but was actually “Low” from 2002’s One by One.

“People say that song ‘Aurora’ was his favorite to play,” Shane Hawkins said. “That’s a lie. Dave [Grohl] never let … Dave did let him play it with them, but it’s a fuckin’ hard one to do all together.

At a drum clinic in England, Shane Hawkins, the son of late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, revealed that his dad’s favorite Foos song to play was actually the track “Low,” not the tune “Aurora,” as commonly suggested.

Shane took part in a drum clinic at The Dead Famous, a cocktail bar in Newquay, England, this past Thursday (May 29th). From behind the kit, he told the crowd, “People say that song ‘Aurora’ was his favorite to play, but that’s a lie.”

He went on to say that Taylor’s true favorite Foo Fighters song to perform was “Low” from 2002’s One by One, but that frontman Dave Grohl didn’t often include it in the setlist. After that introduction, Shane played the drum parts to “Low” like an absolute beast, as seen in the TikTok clip below.

A group of UK female filmmakers have set up a Facebook group to support women in the industry following an email admin error involving a Bafta initiative.
